This is to soul cat....seems like you like U2 and Bono as much as I do. Did you happen to catch the not so great review in the Chicago Sun Times? That guy seems to have had it out for the band. He comes off as a jerk really. What do you think? By the way this is a cool photo. I went to the April 9th show in San Jose and had a wonderful time.
From: u2_gecko on 2005-05-13 01:37:10
O MY GOSH I read that review!! I was screaming my guts out I was so mad at that f______ retard!!! that guy has issues!! what a jerk! How can he talk such sh__about the U2?!?! I cannot tell you how mad I was!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!

Hey Fanny, gecko , Elizabeth... *waving* ...no i haven't read it but i'll take your word for it...he sounds like he's trying to make a name for himself by being a saber tooth dumb ass.... I was at the April 9th show too....wasn't it awesome!! .. Beings I was at the Sunday show on the 10th and sitting right next to Edges piano stage level with nothing inbetween....woot woot! i could study My MAN closely! ..(never took my eyes off him)! When Bono faced us he was ten foot away!!!!! Yippie-ki-yeay!!!!! ...Ive been to alot of u2concerts and these were my best seats ever...the night of the 9th I had the beading lights in my way because I was behind the stage (although close enough to still see him without always using Binoc's) and the lights were never in my way on Sunday....Bonoooooo is such a doll up close and personal...gaaaawd! His voice was so clear and we could hear his soft croony melodies ....when you get far away often times you miss his beautiful range cause it gets lost in the music but believe me its there and still dreamy as ever....can't even talk about his bod cause WOWZER!!!! Lets just say the red shirt he donned on Sunday with the open front really made my evening!!!!hahahaha! and he took his shades off for most of the show ! ahhgg....* slurps* ....I luv his hair long too ...let it grow baby let it grow...grrrr
From: u2_gecko on 2005-05-13 03:45:27
i went to the april 25 concert in seattle.... i had pretty darn good seats. row 22, section 115. we could see the stage really well and the catwalk perfectly, but i had to use binocs to see the boys up close... i was actually really happy cause he left his shades ON for most of the show.... for some reason when he took off his shades at my concert he looked really really old....
From: Soulcatgirl on 2005-05-13 03:49:05
Hun at your age everybody looks old!!!!! hahaha...believe me he looks splendid and fit for 45...he's definately a man and thats what he heads a MAN BAND!!!! no boy bands for us u2 babes gecko......grrrrr

DO YOU DRAW CARTOONS HUN OR ARE THEY REALIST DRAWINGS?....
From: u2_gecko on 2005-05-13 04:09:36
ummm their more cartoons.... but i can do a pretty good realistic one if i have a photo or something to draw from.
From: Soulcatgirl on 2005-05-13 04:23:12
Thats wonderful.... well if you love to draw keep it up and don't let anyone discourage you from it .... (and that includes well meaning art teachers!!!!!) sometimes they can be insensitive to your particular art so don't let it break you..picking cartoons was such a taboo when I was in school the teachers all but squashed it out of most of us!!!! To bad you couldn't post some in Matts place ...we would love to see Bono in lavish toon mode.....grrrr
From: u2_gecko on 2005-05-13 04:25:24
yeah that's too bad...... some of the drawings are pretty darn funny. there's a site called atu2.com that has a monthly comic with the bman and co. in it.... their mostly realistic paintings but sometimes they'll have cartoony versions. it's really funny!! =D its called Achtoon Baby
From: Soulcatgirl on 2005-05-13 04:28:53
Yeah I've seen her and her funny U2 cat.....grrrr
From: u2_gecko on 2005-05-13 04:31:19
gaaaa i wish i could paint like that.. i can draw to save anyone's soul but i can't paint to save my soul... which is unfortunate because just normal drawing doesn't very well capture the feelings you want to get thru ur drawings. i can't color very well either (isn't that sad?=D) so most of my drawings lack the depth i really want them to have... i've gotten onto my soapbox!! haha
From: Soulcatgirl on 2005-05-13 04:47:02
Oh hun pencil and charcoal and pen inks have some really nice depth to them.... shading and the magic touch (hopefully yours) can bring life to black&whites....take this photo up there^^^ i bet you could do this ( haziness and all) in pencil and it would be interesting as all get out.... grrr
From: u2_gecko on 2005-05-13 04:51:40
alrighty i shall and i shall find some marvelous way to show it off to everyone on the www!!!! this would actually be a really nice pic to do in watercolors... but alas, my fear of destroying a wonderful drawing with terrible painting will most definently take over and it will remain in pencil. but WHO CARES as long as i can do it!!!!! haha!!!! i'll print it in black-and-white so i can REALLY do the shading nicely.... all of these ludicrous plans are forming in my head.... like using pastels or blowing up the picture to take up an entire page, or trying to add a body to the neck you can't even see... but i will leave it as it is.
From: Soulcatgirl on 2005-05-13 05:02:11
Do you have a scanner? Have you heard of Photobucket? Girl there are ways to show off your art...when you finish it we will see if we can come up with something...Say who hoo Matt do you have a section for this type of display?????........ Well gecko I have to go for now but give the drawing a go and I'll see you tomorrow...*waves*...grrrr
From: u2_gecko on 2005-05-13 05:04:10
awright thanx for talking w/ me! twas fun!no sadly no scanner.. never head o' photobucket... well i do have a scanner but it exploded several years ago.. so obviously it doesn't work. =(

Soulcat, you are so lucky you got to go to the April 10th one also. I loved what you you said to u2 gecko about Bono looking great for his age! I'm two years younger than him and I wish that I had the stamina to sing for two hours and run around like a teenager. He truly is fit for his age and lets just pray he stays that way to go out again with another album in the future. I just finnished reading two very fun books on Bono and Gang that if you haven't already read, you would fly through like I did. One is called "Killing Bono",and the other just came out just called "Bono". The Killing one is very good. It is about a fellow high school classmate of Bono's that has remained friends with him through the years etc.. But what was cool about it, is how Bono comes off as the very special person he is to this day. The other book is a fun read also and it is a question and answer format that gets you really hooked. You must read them and you will be even more impressed by The Man!!! I'm just sad that I finished them. Are you going to try and go to the Oakland show in the fall? My sister and I might go together, since she is a U2 freak like me. Her little two year old boy loves U2 and when he saw the newest video "Somtimes....." he pointed to Bono and said "Dada" My sister said "I wish!"It has been fun reading these comments and I'll check back to see more. I just read the Philidelphia review and it was a good one!! Stupid guy at the Sun Times!!!! If you go on their web site there is a picture of that dork and my daughter and I died laughing at how stupid he looks. My 15 year old and my husband are big time fans as well. See ya!

Hello Elizabeth, the late gecko now newly resurrected Suchi...<(spell?) ...hello fanny....gahhh been gone trying to figure out how to get to the Stones with out selling my Soul to the devil...! Elizabeth I don't believe in telling my age.. Oh alright i'm 4,598 years old! ...you and Bono have nothing on me !!! haa...Those books sound interesting I have heard of them... think I'll cruise to Amazon and check them out.... or if Matt has it on his web I'll purchase through that.. :) ..hey Matt I was wondering if you ever have a fund raiser to help with the cost of running your site? We have been here so long and Not once have you ever asked for HELP.....you are a saint...bussies! If people want to contribute what should they do? I have a hankering to give back a little of the LUV....Hey Suchi <(spell?) how is the drawing coming along? We need help people on how she can get it on here once its done...Good sweety I know it'll be wonderful i'm excited for you....Hey Fanny what the heck you been up to? Dreaming of your band in lalala land.....there gonna be there pretty soon and you'll be going nuts!!!! crazy crazy nuts for them!!!!Oh Elizabeth you seriously need a name???? U2toZ is what I thought of but that is so frick'n lame...sorry! ....help meeeee! and girl I am so there in November cause i have my tickets already for both shows...if you don't have tic's yet you may have a big problem!!!...red alert red alert!!!!! melt down You 've hit a place called Vertigo..... :)grrr....also you need to tell me where to go for the pic of your daughter I was sort of hazy about the story....why is she in a picture with the guy that is slamming U2???? I'm no good at coming up with cool screen names,so it may be still Elizabeth until I am inspired. Noooo, What I wrote was that my daughter and I saw the ugly picture of the guy who wrote the article. Go to the beginning of this page where it says reviews for the first show in Chicago, then it says the dorks name who wrote it. If you then press "the chicago sun times" it will go to the news papers web site. When you see the music entertainment look for his name. When you press it it will show his stupid face!!!! You will die laughing when you see how retarded this guy looks. Well, I guess that I'm not going to the November show if the tickets were already for sale :( I didn't realize they were already up for grabs. When did they go up for sale? I have been checking the papers and I never saw it. Are you a Bay Area girl? My sister and I were laughing one day about the fact that when you go to one of their concerts, you feel like you now know them and that if they could only meet you once that you KNOW you would be friends for sure:) We were laughing so hard about how silly that was, then I read this one guy write a review saying the same thing. Funny how Bono has that ability to make that connection with the audience even though there are thousands there.what site are you referring to when you mentioned "Matt" When you write on this site(macphisto) are you going to this particular photo then adding to the comments or are you on something else. I'm no computer whiz,so forgive me for the lame question. It just seems like you have a running conversation with the other people and I was wondering if you go to the Macphisto page then hit May 9th and this photo. Sooo sorry about the confusion of my daughter being on a web site with that dork, I think if you read back on my comment I may have not punctuated it correctly. The age thing is funny!!All my life I have loved each age and I always tell people how old I am. 42 and proud of it. Although I look young for my age and I still get carded for buying wine at the store. My oldest daughter is 20,and people are shocked that I am her mom (she is another u2 babe) Anyway....I love seeing Bono up there looking so cool at 45,it gives the rest of us 40 somthings something to look up to.:)

hi Elizabeth!I get inspiredof reading your messages here! I really do!you are lucky to have friends that like U2, and can talk about them with your friends and family...the only ones I know that like talking about U2 are you guys on this site!!my friends are more like " they have a few good songs, I like that song"and then it's sort of end of discousion <(how do you spell that?)but I'm more like "oh Bono?? Blahblahblahblah U2 blahblahblah adam and Larry blahblah the edge blahblahblah" if you know what I mean...hehe=)all my friends go like "oh you said that a few minutes ago, and besides you told me that at least five times yesterday!"hehe...but I'm glad to talk to you guys in here!you are kind of like an U2 encyclopedia!!=)hugs from fanny..=)

Hi Fanny ..guess what I repeat to my family too and they also say "you already said that girl you getting dingy" then they do a flashy corn roll around there brain like I'm coocoo!!....the thing is they all love love love U2 so they tolerate my giddiness :))~ your friends will come around or they'll start with the corn twirls too!!! hahaha....huggles back to you fanny... :))Elizabeth (you need a cool U2 babe screen name!!! help us somebody??? although Elizabeth is a gorgeous real name !) Ok first off I'm a duffus took me forever to find this article(I'm computer challenged) but I just sent that icky turd bird an email telling him what i thought of his review....you know the sad part of that review was he wasn't reviewing U2 he was all over Bono's politics....that was so unfair and biased it was pitiful....enough of him he looked type cast as a frick'n zombie from Night of the Living Dead with Buddy Holly rims...Holy sheep sh--!!!!. very scary !!You say you get carded at 42!!!! WTF ?!?! Are you sure the guy at the store isn't just trying to hit on you (stalker getting your address!) or maybe he needs ol' zombie boys bifocles?...hahaha..ok this is really unfair Elizabeth to all the 42 year olds that look like ol' Whistlers Mama..! If I could look 20 again I'd be signing on the dotted line in a snap...*kitty runs to mirror slaps cucumbers on puffy eye lids and waits for the devil to arrive!*...* snork*.... LOL Oh about the site I come in on Elevation-tour.com (black on blue) cause the u2-vertigo-tour.com (red on white) kills my eyes and then Matt has Macphisto.net which is probably Mac's or (Matt's) home site (?)....these sites are all connected with goodies on all...so when I refer to the big guy (Matts 6foot 5 or 6) its him that runs and owns this cosy little home..(actually its turned into a mansion at this point ! ) So I type in Elevation-tour.com I click on left of screen.. U2 Tour Picturest... then at the top I hit last commented photos and there we are along with our sweety pies pictures all in a row!!!! I presume thats what you do too?:) And Matt does have a store aleigned with amazon so I will get my "Killing Bono" book through you Matt...need to find something else say Elizabeth is the Bono book you have by Susan Black or Laura Jackson? If it is any good maybe I'll get that one too?...As far as getting to know Bono oh yes please....poooft I'll never get to know him as well as I'd like too !!!! *kitty trying to seal a deal with Macphisto* muahaaaaa grrr
From: fanny on 2005-05-18 18:33:35
but there is also good sides about me talking to my friends about U2 all the time:they know who they are and also pretty much about them=) haha!did you know that one of bonos daughters has birthday the same day as he has??hugs...!
From: Elizabeth on 2005-05-18 19:11:42
Hi Fanny,Yes I'm kind of a u2 nerd!!!Haha. My family and friends love U2,but I am by far the most obsessed. My daughter loves them and she is in High school. We are very close and enjoy turning up all U2 cds at high volume in the car :) Our favorite one is Love and Peace or else...One afternoon when I picked her up from school, it was a very nice and sunny day,so we opened up the sun roof and turned it UP!!! I have read a lot about them and have watched many old tapes of theirs. If you want to see them when they were about 28 or so you can check out "Rattle and Hum" it is on video. I found a copy and watched it yesterday for the second time. You can rent it at a video store also.Yes, I did know that his daughter was born on his birthday,he said in a quote it was the best gift ever!! That daughter was born one year before my youngest daughter,so it is cute to see him with his teenaged daughter that is close to the same age as my daughter. His girls are very pretty also, from the photos I have seen of them. You should read the books that I mentioned above to soulcat, they are filled with some fun things about them. One of Larry's kids has the same birthday as I do. It's fun for me to follow them since they are my age,and I have to laugh at all of Bono's fashion choices through the 80's :) Pretty soon this May 9th forum will not be on here are we all switching to another photo soon?I only have one family member who didn't even know U2,when I mentioned that we went to thier concert! She is my sister in law,I was telling everyone about how fun it was and she said"who are they now?" I had to kind of sing Beautiful Day to her before she finally got it,so I know what you mean when people aren't as obsessed. I guess I am lucky because my husband loves them and my girls do as well so I am in good company, but I must confess, they are probably getting tired of me talking about them all the time also :) Well, hope you find some more friends that have good music taste.Later

Hey, soulcat, the other book is called "Bono", in conversation with Michka Assayas, with foreword by Bono. It has a beautiful photo of the B man on it with cool Dolce and Gabana shades! It is brand new,and just came out like the end of April or begining of May. It is fun to read Killing Bono first,as it goes into the very beginings of their group in conjunction with the guy who wrote the book. The other one does not go into the past too much(Bono). I haven't been going on here they way you have but maybe I will, since pretty soon the May 9th section will go away soon on the Macphisto site, as they have more shows to list. One last and final word on the age thing...That crazy guy at the supermarket was very grouchy when I laughed at his request to see my ID! I said you must be kidding! He said no and looked real mad at me!! I said to him, you are going to laugh when you see the date of my birth. He was shocked and said "I would never have guessed." My parents looked very young as they aged as well,so I must have gotten their genes in that department. I don't want to keep tooting my horn, but I get it on a daily basis when I'm out with my daughters. Especially my oldest who is 20, people assume that we are sisters sometimes. One of my daughters friends on her " live journal" on line commented thatI could not be her mom since I looked her age and she hoped that she looked that good at 42! So that is all I will say. I asked last time, but when did you purchase your November tickets? I never heard that they went up for sale.See ya, Oh I came up with kind of a U2 screen name....Octu2 birth month plus u2? what do you think?
From: Elizabeth on 2005-05-18 19:46:43
Soulcat, I forgot to say in my last comment, thanks for e-mailing that jerk at the Sun Times!!! I coudn't figure out how to do it when I went on their site, so hooray for you!! I agree with you, he really went on a personal attack it seems. If you read his other stupid article with Larry, you can see how MAYBE Larry didn't tell him everything he wanted to hear and he used it in the second article. That comment about comparing them to Britney Spears made me want to vomit!! How can you even think to compare them?! He only did that because of a comment that Larry had said in his interview with him a few weeks prior. Again thanks for e-mailing that jerk!! All other reviews have been glowing,so poo on him!

hi Liz!you mentioned a funny thing here: singing Beautiful day to people who don't know who U2 are! I go for the Beautiful day to, then they know who they are=)Maybe you got a bit of this Larry thing, because it doesn't look like he is getting older either!hehe=)I'm going to London this summer soulie!I'm sure going to buy some Edun clothes there! maybe some books, cd's to...everything I can find about our boys!!=)we're not going on any concert, but I'll guess the Valle Hovin concert is enough for this time...cause this can't be the last tour, I'm sure!!Bono said in an interiew that they were only getting started!haha!!well...see you guys around soon!!hugs from fanny!

hey all! hey fanny, hey soulie and welcome to this addictive site, elizabeth. (that's fun to type!!!) The drawing's going well.... sort of. I've got his nose finished and half of his sunglasses finished. his forehead is sketched in but that's about it. I gotta get going!!! =P It's actually looking REALLY good. Gaaawwwh I'm so proud of myself!!do you know how HARD it is to draw Bono? I've tried it. A LOT. I can draw him really easily as a stick figure or a cartoony guy, but realistic.... man he is tough stuff!!! ya gotta love him... even though he deliberately looks like he does to make all of us Bono-drawers frustrated!! Haha... well cya all!!!

Hi Fanny, I didn't realize that you were from Norway. I think I read that right on the other commented photos. We just moved back form France last summer and I really miss living in Europe. I didn't make it to Norway, only Sweden. My husband was an exchange student in Sweden(1977) when he was in high school and was also in a rock band that I guess was quite well known there. He toured around Sweden while he lived there and got to live his Rock and Roll fantacy. He played key boards. Have fun in london, is it your first time? I went in 2002 and had a lot of fun. I wounder how much the Edun clothing costs in London, because they are quite expensive here!! It is sold at a very very expensive department store. Very cute clothing though.I have a site for you to go to so that you can see all the fun U2 videos. It is streaming-clips.com. I think it is a Dutch web site. You can hit the alphabet on the left and the whole list will come up. Happy viewing.

hey have any of you heard Fast Cars? it was track number 12 on HTDAAB only in the UK. it's weird... it's like Mexicany or Spanishy sort of... at least the chorus is. iTunes only lets you hear 30-sec clips of the songs.... =(
From: Tanja on 2005-05-19 13:18:02
fast cars was track 12 as well in germany (and other countries I think)... but only on the special edition of the album. I really love it, its totally different and worth to hear it in total :)

Hey, I'm getting the hang of the new name now, feels a bit odd,but I'll give it a try. That guy at the paper is a freak if he didn't answer back in a more professional manner. Was he also the one that complained about the fact that Bono had us hold up our cell phones? I think he wrote something about the fact that the tickets were so expensive and he was asking us to give more money to this cause. I may be getting this confused with the other paper, but I think he was the one who said it. YUCK. All I have is his stupid looking face in my memeory right now. Hey U2 will be on Nerdy Good Morning America on Friday and also Saturday I heard. I'll be up at 7:00 am to watch the boys :) Don't worry about posting where you are from Soulcat, I too do not like to post things like that also, but I think I know where you are.I'm a late comer with all the U2 memorabilia, that is for sure. I have always loved them but never invested in all of their albums etc....So you have me on that one. I never got to see Rattle and Hum in the theaters, that would have been lovely. I think when it was released I was in the midst of raising my oldest daughter and no time to myself. I have six of their albums all on Cd form. (I love Achtung Baby)I was living in France when Bono came to Paris to collect his Chevalier medal. It is kind of like being a Sir in England. I think I remember the day, since it was in the area that we were and we could not figure out at the time what was going on. If I had known, I would have been camped out side :) Hope he wins the Nobel Peace Prize in September!! That would be cool. Did anyone read that dorks other piece in the Sun Times when he does the Q&A with Larry? If you read it you will know why he was stupid. The Chicago Tribune was a bit nicer, but thier review wasn't as great as all the other ones. What is wrong with those people in Chicago any way???? Have a blast in London Fanny, London is very expensive,so choose wisely when you buy stuff. U.S dollars to the pound is frightening.Glad you like my new screen name u2-sushi.You will get to London one day...You're young :)

...first like to say hi to Elizabeth...'hi...!' Nice to meet you! I like to think that I'm pretty good in making screen-names...I suggested Fanny's...although I must admid that I stole my name from Soulie...a little off-spring (funny because Soulie herself thinks her name is not original...)...anyway...Elizabeth is already great. And to put it like a screen name gives it something very classy...stylish...mature maybe...anyway, maybe if I know you better I'd make another suggestion...but what the heck...Elizabeth is fine!Gosh you guys talking about California makes me wanna go back SO much...!Yeah I love the way you get çarded'over there...! OK I'm no 42 but still, even for a 30+ ...I mean...I loved to show my card!It was a Dutch passport actually....which made it even more exotic...!Can you believe that...exotic from Holland...me and my wooden shoes?Anyway, it's very rare for us to get ID'ed in a bar over here if your not looking younger then twenty...I can do pretty good 29 ...26 on good day but 19...O my gawd...I think I would hide myself for the rest of the summer...!!!Oh my...Californian bars...restaurants...your cute little patio's and the beaches...the hills...the tiny little beachtowns... It's friggin raining over here and cold you hear...! This is dumbass Holland! But U2 is coming this way so I might hang out a little longer here. I'm going to Brussels in... what...3 weeks! You just have to wait 1 week from now Soulie...it'll be worth it!I'm going down now...dream of Southern California...with the palms and the margarita's and all the boys who'll miss their 'model' from Sweden...with the Irish hair-do...!I Love you all,Ruby

UGGGHHH!!! California!!! yuck. nawww, the rainy, gray, musty, wet Washington is WAAAAY better cause you never know what's gonna happen!! in California you'll wake up and look out the window. It'll be sunny. You'll say, "Tis gonna be sunny today," and it is. But us tough washingtonians, we wake up, look out the window and see clouds. we say, "it's gonna be cold today," but it isn't. It turns out being cloudy till midmorning, then the sky's falls and you get totally soaked... then around lunchtime it clears up till midafternoon, and then it rains even harder than it did. afterwards it'll be like, 90 degrees then it'll become it's normal ol' self again, all cloudy 'n' gray.Washington is fun!!!!

Man that was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!the lighting was terrible... that's my problem with old videos and DVDs... after going to the concert with superb, mindblowing lighting and stage setup, I watch rattle and hum and even the elevation DVDs and I cant stand 'em!!! I'll be like, what a lame stage setup! Yuck!!! Grrr, i hate old stuff. bleh bleh bleh.

today I went to school wearing a wicked t-shirt with U2 posing in front of a huge red V for Vertigo...my friends accused me (for the billionth time) of being a U2 addict, and i said, there are people out there who have every single one of their albums, ever single one of their singles, and every single on of their DVDs and videos. That adds up to about 60 CDs and 15something DVDs and videos. (I think...) plus, there are people who spend all year basically on tour WITH U2... going to at least one show in every city... or what adds up to an average of one show in every city. and they'll be like... "Wow, those people are obsessed." and i tell them, yeah, so you'd better not accuse me of being an addict, at least until ya know... next year when I do have all those things.this morning I came in listening to.. o gee what was it... All Because of You on my iPod, and my friend came charging at me screaming her poor guts out. I unplugged myself with difficulty to listen to her babble and I heard something like "come inside, Mr. Vaughns room, radio, it's on the radio that one song witha really long title, come on come on come on!!!" And so I was thinking it was either ISHFWILF or SYCMIOYO. It was the latter. she started singin along and i thought smugly to myself, "I've finally broke through the surface... She's gotten to the point where she can SING ALONG with their songs!! Yay!"Then two different friends came to my locker where I have the lyrics for Gloria, Sunday Bloody Sunday and New Year's Day taped to the door. One of them started singing Gloria in the absolute wrong tune and I said it sounded like she was singin a nursery rhyme. She laughed and started singing Sunday Bloody Sunday. The other one started rapping Sunday Bloody Sunday about two verses after the other person and we were cracking up.... it was so funny to hear Sunday Bloody Sunday in cheesy rap form. I told them next time they'll have to sing New Year's Day.I'm having a controversey with the one who started rapping. I sent her a picture of Edge when he was stark bald (he had shaved his head, i think it was at that italian singer's wedding) with Morleigh... and she asked me who the guy standing next to Edge was.I told her it was his wife. She freaked and was all like, whoa, is Edge gay?! and I told her never to diss Edge or his wife ever again. She said 'wutever' and sent me an email every other day asking if Edge was gay. I told her he wasn't and she said 'well his wife is!! LOL!!' and so today she asked me if there was any news with Edge. I said "Yesterday I found out that he wore his BEANIE to his own wedding! Can you believe that?!" and she cracked up... then she wrote 'Edge wore a beanie to his wedding' on my arm.a bunch of people tried to draw the Bman. They made him look like Adam and Larry and a scarecrow and Keith Richards so I had to draw him for them. It was a fun day....

I just got my haircut.10" for Locks of Love. When I pull it back in a ponytail it looks kind of like Bono's hair during the Joshua Tree/Rattle and Hum era.I had it cut that way on purpose. Is it sad that I'm so obsessed I cut my hair to look like Bono's?

I love the trees, the mountains...the flowers...the seafood (the salmon!) and last but not least...your wine! Great wine comes from Washington state...but it's not been exported to Europe...(buisiness opertunaty...?)....BTW...Holland is NOT peaceful anymore... Nice to meet you Rubycat. Maybe I will alternate between Elizabeth and octu2,but that may be confusing.I watched "nerdy" Goodmorning America this morning and got to see the boys in action. I don't know if you are familiar with their format Soulcat, but they are super lame and I was so sad that the Today show didn't get them instead. I won't wreck it for you if you taped it and you haven't see it yet,but they had a very small and I do mean small interview with them and it was edited oddly, and they kept cutting them off before the questions were answered!!! The concert is from their May 10th show in Chicago, since I'm sure they didn't want to do a cheesy "concert on the park" deal. After I saw what an amazing job Bono did singing his song about his dad..Sometimes.......I was even more irritated about the review they gave them. Oh well I won't let that guy ruin it. So, what GMA did was fake that they were there live, and just filmed the concert in Chicago. The write up for this made it sound like they were going to catch up with them in New York. Well, it is better to see them, than not, so even though it was a super stupid way they did it, it was a nice way to satrt Friday morning. Rubycat...I went to Amsterdam when I lived in France(nice road tripfrom Paris) and we had a very nice time,it was last April that I was there. I was totaly impressed with how creative the clothing was there!! I'm an artist that dabbles in fashion, photography and Art History. I love Dutch painting!!!! I took a Dutch art history class in University, and loved it. So to be able to see such an amazing collection in the Rijksmuseum was like heaven(!BTW,Ihave a studio degree in Art and did most of my studies in Art history and Gallery display. My studio work was in drawing and photgraphy, loved it all!!) MY daughters loved the Netherlands. And to Sushi I love Washington and it's weather!! I'm the only freak in California that would be in heaven if it rained all day. I'm at my most creative when it is raining. I get super grouchy in the summer here and I never lay out in the sun!!Soulcat, I lived in France from August 2002 up until last summer July 2004. Paris was a blast and I loved the French. They are not what the regular American Joe thinks they are. When the whole war thing shot up, they were nothing but kind to me and said that they loved America, just not George Bush. Made me laugh each time when they said George though...they pronounced it"Georgia" Funny!!! I would tell them that we were not all in "Georgia's" camp so not to worry. My youngest went to the French Riviera with her friend and didn't see Bono and group out at the beach. They were there finnishing up the CD in the studio they have in the south of France. Another lost opportunity :(I don't speak Swedish, only French and Spanish. I was a very lost soul in Amsterdam,Germany and Sweden with the languages. I'm good with the romance languages. Italy was easy also.I must say though once and for all to defend the French, IF you make an attemt to speak any French for help they will help you,IF you walk up to them and full on speak English, like my mother in law did, you will not get help, just a confused look. Americans and the French have many things in common and one of them is the fact that they and we are not multi lingual, like Sweden and the Netherlands. You can full on walk up to a Swedish person and 9 times out of ten they willl speak English. My hubby said they must all learn it in school.Ok , Back to our guys.....No way the Edge is Gay,that person is odd. His new wife is beautiful and they have two children together. He has three kids with his first wife. So the cool Edge is a proud father of five!!! He beat Bono by one,but of course it did take two women. Ok How Cool is Bono's wife Ali!!! She is one amazing lady that is truly a wonderful match for our Baby doll Bono. She is strong and compassionate like him and they look so adorable together...Married for 23 years!! They married one year before I did! My husband and I will celebrate our 22nd in June. I feel like our guys are getting farther and farther away as they make thier way back to Europe. At least they will be here in the fall. Maybe since I don't have tickets to the Oakland event, I'll hang out in the back of the stadium and catch a glimps of them. Not really. I would feel like an old dork out there :) Sushi keep up your art and drawing! My daughter is in a high school that has a super cool art department with and honors class that you can take in your senior year, they help you put a portfolio together so you can show art school and get scholarships. Guess she is following my footsteps. My oldest is very creative also, but her passion is writing.Ok I have gone on way too long, but it sure is fun to chat in such good company with my fellow u2 lovers.

He called him and had an hour long conversation with him... Hi guys, I saw the ChicagoTribune site where he talks to the reporter,it will be in out in the Sunday edition. The puzzling part of it is, that the guy who wrote the real icky one was not from the Tribune but from the "Chicago Sun Times" The one written buy the Chicago Tribune wasn't great eighter, but no where as mean as the one written by the Sun Times. I can't find the Tribune one on their site. Maybe we can google it. They are two rival papers in Chicago and when I was there a few years back you can see the impressive buildings facing each other. I think they take themselves way to seriously just like Chicago itself I think!!! Chicago is nice but not as cool as San Francisco and Seattle!!!!!!!!!!! Ok enough about those guys. Sushi I saw your photos,is that you in the photo by the plane? How did you get so close? Do you have airport connections :) ?
From: Octu2 on 2005-05-21 19:36:44
Ok I googled the article in the Tribune and it was not nice either,if you want to read it,go to google and type in U2 chicago tribune review, and then go to the one that says crtics review. It will say something like "tired warhorse or something simmilar.Hey Fanny, I forgot to comment on your venture into Spanish. It is a pretty easy language, you you will have fun. I speak it fluently so hey if you ever need help, give a shout.

He must not have realized how COOL that was!!no I don't have any special connections (sadly) but the guy who let us out there was really nice. He said it was a really slow day and that he had nothing better to do so he took us out onto the airfield!! it was SO COOL!! the plane really is big... it's WAAAYY better than the Elevation or PopMart planes!

Thanks Fanny ;)knew I had it wrong....have you heard any more about the concert you mentioned (live aide 2 ) ?Octu2 ....no problem about the French people I think most people (i never did) using common sense did not fall into that bushleague trap that was floating around...the media and a few jackass' played with that immature theme.... The U2 concert was great ...now we know why they filmed the Chicago shows :))... I must say waiting for it to come on was like being put on the rack, very painful...Diane is a huge fan of Bono's and U2... she admires him so for his fight for Human beings and there gawd given right to dignity and a decent fair shot at life.....I think she was a bit giddy having them at her mercy....hihihi.....but it was cut up and edited to practically nothing!!!! They never got with it til 8:30...My GAWD they had two figgin hours to dedicate to our men... if they pulled there head out there collective arses over at ABC it could have been magnificent!!!!...My babys voice was a little gruff cause he's been on the road awhile now but still sends me over the top.. :)) personally I like it ruff....LMAO...hihihihi....ok back to PG..;)) ......Ii love it when he's just drenched... hair whipped back on his lovely head and no shades covering his gorgeous sexy eyes and he's just given it to us raw and from the gut... rwaaaarrrr... yeppa thats the way I like it too! ..... Gosh these post are great up here...^^^ Thanks Octu2 for all the info about yourself sounds like you've had a real life....LOL....a very nice one too:) Thanks for the googly thing....i agree this guy was in no way as offensive as the Sun Times cat who was nothing but a tool .....maybe Bono wa familiar with this Tribune fellow and respected him in the past so he wanted to duke it out with him..... it shall be interesting to see what is said...Oh Octu2 about the Edge thing I tease the hell out of Edge bunnies about there man and his woman...(no..no..Not you Boomie..lol ...your not his woman today!!! ) ...but it's all in jest...so when sushi's little friend said those things i was kidding the edgybunnies about it....thats all no way serious cause we know there charming lovely women that just happened to steal our men from us....hihihihi.....Sushi are you sure its bigger than Elevation....that sucker was big too...! Hows the drawiing coming along?....well heck I gotta go my change ran out along tim e ago......lov the posts u2-babes.....grrrr

From: u2_sushi on 2005-05-24 04:56:33
well something very interesting happened at school today. Another story for all you story lovers!! =DSo once again I came in listening to City of Blinding Lights and my friend came up (the same one who freaked out about the radio) and said "Guess what?" and I asked her if it was another song on the radio. She laughed and said no. Then she said, "My dad has a U2 album.... what was it... War, I think."I stared and couldn't breathe for a couple seconds and then I asked her if she was serious (she jokes about this kind of stuff a lot) and she said yes. I continued staring and I swear my heart stopped. I don't have War yet but already it's one of my favorite albums. So I fitted. Translated from American middle school language, I had a fit. I started yelling and jumping around and freaking out. She told me she could probably get her dad to sell it to me for $10 or something and my heart stopped again. I don't have $10 but I'm sure I could manage to scrape it up somehow. So she told me she'd go home and bargain with her dad. I was a bit nervous about it (her dad's really stubborn) but then I reassured myself, 'He probably never listens to it anyway... I'll bet he's got it stowed away under tons of boxes and probably forgot it existed ten-odd years ago!!' So I'm really excited!!

DRAWING UPDATEProgress is slow.... He's frustrating me. I want like f___ to finish this drawing... but he's SO GOSHDARNED HARD TO DRAW!!! Even if I'm only drawing and coloring in abstract shapes, it's still hard. Bono, why do you do this to me?!?! I have almost finished his shades... I started on the very far right of his forhead. But that's all... I'm a champion procrastinator. At this rate it may be several stinking weeks before I finish.... I have got to get going!! =(

hey do any of you have emails? (that's a stupid question!!) well I'm typing up this super long 12 or 13 issue 'newspaper' describing my concert that I should be ready to send in a day or two (it's been a MONTH since the concert... like I said, I'm a champion procrastinator) and if any of you are interested gimme a shout!!

Hang in there with drawing we're all pulling for you..oh my talk about procrastination....I think alot of us suffer it bad....give me a dose of Pop (luv this baby) .. cause its a heavy motha or Zooropa and I get inspiration in a million different ways...good for writers block.. ;) Oh Octu2 I did tape the concert and I edited out all the balogne...so I have a nice clean copy....I have to tell you I didn't get the Sat.song .....*wha wha* ..my sleepysickness caught me and i woke up at 8:05 am and there was no show...what the heck time does it come on over the the weekends? I blew it...did you see it?... and about our boys reading these comments? well all I can say is last tour some mighty strange things were written here and we swear Bono ended up saying things on stage that sounded alot like things we were talking about right here at Matt's....and they were not average run of the mill stuff ...some of it was really pretty obscure....and then Edge wore a triple feather Tshirt on the tonight show after he was wearing numbers on tour....we were thinking at the time it was for ??? Triple Edgy dovs...she was begging for him to show her a sign......not saying its a fact but hey ya never know..... :))

Hi guys, Hey, Sushi did you get the War album from that guy? I bought it not too long ago, since I wanted all of thier stuff in CD form. My daughter loves it and is hooked on it. She always wants to hear that one in the car.It is very 80's but in a cool way as you might suspect. But all of that is coming back in style ,so I think that is why she likes it. It brings me back to my college days that is for sure. I hope you can get it,maybe he will just give it to you :) Sometimes you can go on Amazon.com and get a used copy for cheaper than that!!I saw Zooropa for $5.00. I might order that one, since I don't have that one. I don't know why I don't,but I would like to have it. Update on the Chicago Tribune article,I read the interview he had with the critic, and he sounded like a jaded person to me and just not getting the concept that they were doing with this album. Poor guy. You can go there and read it on their site.Soulcat, I didn't get to see Saturday eighter!! I turned it on about the time you did also and saw nothing. I really don't know what time it comes on!! In a few days our cool guys are leaving the U.S. and get a two week break before they start the European tour. It will be interesting to see, on this site, how different it will be. I would think out of curiosity and if you were bored, you would look on this site, even if you were famous. Like on a down time, just to see what people think of you. Maybe that is how they can get the pulse of what is going on out there. So, lets say Bono and the guys have a lap top and they are bored in their hotel room.....whos to say they wouldn't read this for amusement?? I think they do. Bono seems to like to be in the know at all times :) I guess we can just only imagine.Do you ever watch VH1 guys? I really don't like how they do count downs, right now I have it on just for background noise, and they have U2's Sometimes.......at nuber 19 and stupid Mariah Cary at number 10!! Yuck!! They haven't even moved up at all in days and if anything, are going down. Humm lets see, who do I want to see...freaky Mariah Cary or cute as a bugs ear Bono ? What is the matter with them? The MTV I get on my cable is so lame also, since it seems like only reality shows are on and no music!! I remember back in the day(1982) how fun MTV was!! Oh well I digress.Catch you all on the flip side :)

yeah Oct I did get War from her... but it's cruddy. It sounds like total crap... so I'm just gonna have to scrape up $10 or $15 for a GOOD quality CD. I told her thanks for even giving the CD to me... but I won't be wanting it. =P

Yesterday the Edge gay friend asked me who was the hottest one of U2... that question raised an awful lot of speculation.... I love them all!! they're all beautiful in their own way.. but I didn't want to say that cause she wouldn't get it so I said Larry. Oddly enough, that question made me think an awful lot. I went home and watched the making of The Unforgettable Fire on the Slane Castle DVD and I noticed how I could very definently see the old Bono in the young and the young in the old.. and I could hear the young in the old and the old in the young. You can feel the old in the young and the young in the old. I sort of saw that in Edge too... and in Larry but not in Adam at all. That's what makes Adam great... he changes so much throughout the 'ages'... they all do, but you can REALLY see it in Adam.Bono's great in that you can see hear and feel the young in the old and the old in the young.Larry and Edge... they're great just because they're great. We're doing puppet shows in one of my classes and the teacher said background music is allowed.I'm going to have fun.As I listen to War I notice Bono's voice. I think of the albums I have so far his voice on War is my favorite. His writing style is very distinctive on this album too... I love it. I printed up Boomie's and Soulie's replies to my story about the Edge gay friend... and I showed them to her. She didn't get it at first... she didn't know what LMAO meant and she didn't realize that she was the topic of conversation. It was really funny... That's become an inside joke for us. whenever we're bored she'll say something about it and we'll start cracking up. On the bus someone these kids were sitting next to me and they noticed the CD in my hand. This is how the conversation went:"She's got a U2 CD.""Yeah.""U2 sucks." (me)"Whatever.""Oh... wait! nevermind. U2's cool.""Yeah, Bono's cool. He's awesome"(me)"Yeah!""Yeah!"
From: Kat on 2005-05-25 18:07:44
Yeah, i love War. It's like post punk rock, with all the anger and rebellion of punk, with a punk sounding edge (not Edge, lol), but not really a punk record. I love that, and being a punk myself- people say its all neo punk now, but give me the Buzzcocks anyday, lol- I'd say it's my favourite, and one of the best U2 records. Just though't I'd share that *thumbs up*.. and way to go sushi with the bus incident! If any one mocked me for liking U2, they'd get home with a cd case up their a**e, fo sho!! lol

Hey where is everyone? My Dad lives in the Chicago area and he sent me the whole article from the Tribune. There were two neat photos of our man in it, as well as an article on the EDUN line of clothing. I was going to ask him if he could send them to me, he must have read my mind!! So I stuffed the articles in my program from the concert. I have a story to tell about Bono siting. My oldest daughter had a boyfriend from Dublin and when she met up with him in France, he told us that Bono could always be spotted at his resturant/hotel in Dublin all the time. He saw him there and he said that nobody really bugs him or anything. He was in the know about all the goings on of U2 and it was fun to hear his stories. Have any of you ever heard the song that Bono sings with the Corrs? Very Very sweet. I have that CD and he sings two songs on it with them. His voice is super sexy on it. One song is called "When stars go blue" and the other is a re-make of an old Nancy Sinatra song called Summer WIne. You know Bono is good when he can make Summer Wine sound good!!!The first song is adorable I must say. I also love the Corrs. If you don't know them look them up on the net. They are four siblings that comprise of three sisters and one brother. The women are stunningly beautiful and the brother is darling also.Well, guys...our men are leaving on the weekend, how sad :(

hey all, hey Oct, hey Kat! At first when I tried to download War onto my iPod it only downloaded 30 sec of Sunday Bloody sunday onto it... and 40 didn't even come through at all. But being the media genius that he is, my dad managed to fix it and I could finally listen to War in the entireity (sp?). I absoluetly LOVE the 'violin' in Sunday Bloody Sunday!! And New Year's Day, of course... must I say anything? I really do like Seconds and Like a Song... too. I like 40 a lot, but I'm REALLY happy the Bman & crew didn't end my concert with it. I love Bono's writing style on this album, the absolute rebel and the passion in his style is great. You can hear it in his voice, too... really beautiful. I get the 'You're so messed up, you're a U2 addict!' thing a LOT at school... but then I ask them what they're obsessed with and that usually gets them. =D LOL!
From: Kat on 2005-05-27 17:11:59

I went on a bike ride yesterday and when I came home and parked my bike in the garage my mom was standing in the door with her hand behind her back. "I think it's time you learned an important lesson," she said. I was freaking out... like I had done something SEVERELY wrong. I asked her what and she said, "If you write something down where you can see it easily, you're very likely and probably will get it." I was utterly confused. I had no idea what she was talking about. I looked at her hand (behind her back) and looked at her. She was smiling.I finally realized what it was.A week or so after the concert, I was pissed as heck that I didn't know some of the songs. So I wrote all the albums that we didn't have up on the whiteboard on our fridge and below them wrote GET THESE!! in big bubble letters. I screamed. She was holding 'Boy' and 'The Unforgettable Fire'.I had a heart attack.

Hey.... to all ....~ Oh my that is so cool about your Mom getting you Unforgettable Fire and Boy....*squeeee*... I love both of those albums and the (comes later) Cd's.. :))..... Way to go to the "MOMMA"....!!!!!Hey Oct I have Bono and Andria singing those songs live on video and let me tell you its hot....they start slow-dancing after they sing and Bono is so verra verra hexy its awesome......grrrrrThat article in the Tribune was just about what I thought it would be...gawd when will my baby *Not* have to always explain himself amd his music to people that just don't get it or want to stuff them in a pigeon hole!!!!! I've listened to this same kind of bombardment for 25 years about them and I I swear somebodies always trying to put my baby's back up against the wall...*actually I wouldn't mind pulling a few wrestling moves myself ;)~ ..... but as usual in his charming intellectual stride he made the critic rethink his stance.... and I have to agree with everything Bono said about critics looking for the easy cop-out and always tearing down rockers instead of encouraging this format...don't bands get enough of that from money hungry music company's..the big slam bam thank you mam and out the door without even a fare thee well.... the critics are trying to kill ROCK'N ROLL and we as the public need to stand up and say hey 'eff off' were not gonna take it we don't need another rap group or another Britney Christine or Jennifer (no offence to there fans but no more clones) or little boy bands be they black white or purple!!!!!.These folks are ok for what ever there style is but quit trying to cram it down people that luv rock'n roll's throats .. The music critics virtually try to distroy any rockers that have come out in the past ten years(not that the critics haven't always tried but its getting worse) I feel sorry for new bands trying to make it nowadays the money machine will eat them up and spit them out and critics no matter how they try to justify there heavy hands are as big a sell out as this critic tried to make U2 out to be..... and I won't even get into WTF is wrong with MTV and VH1....pleeeease what a joke those are!!!!! Oct you had it right about those channels there for morans!!!.... ok kitty jumps off rant box and sings *laughing with your lovers tongue in a lullabye.... where do you go when your lonely where do you go when your blue where do you go when your lonely I'll follow you .....When the stars go blue*......... soulie breaks into baritone... *She saw my silver spurs and said lets pass some time and I will give to you Summer Wine ohhhhh summer wine*....... grrrr

Yeppa Fanny you go girl...*highfivesFanny*Oct I was looking back at comments and wanted to say Bono does alot of duets with people on there albums over the years...just a few mentions...Clannad...Robbie Robertson....Frank Sinatra (luv this)....all of these have exceptional vocal tracks by my baby....also if you don't have the tribute album to Cole Porter its a must Red Hot &Blue and the version of *Night and Day* is killler diller...(i also have another take of this song on something else and its kick ass too but right now I can't remember what its on!!!! duh!)....then there's Honeymoon in Vegas and Bono does a studio not live version of Elvis' " I Can't Help Falling in Love"...then on Jimmie Rodgers Tribute he does "Dreaming With Tears In My Eyes"...Bono with a guitar and strings and a little drum...just awsome...also the sound track to " In the Name of the Father"..this is a must also...ok I could go on and on there are so many goodies out there but only if you got a bank roll stached somewhere...hihihi....ask me if you want to hear more about the goodies and I shall look around my collection for hidden treasures....some of which I haven't listened to in a while and by gosh I should..... ;) ...grrrr
From: Octu2 on 2005-05-30 20:41:36
Hey everyone, nice to see veryone is back:) Soulie, thanks for the list of duets,I will be looking them up. IS that the most sexy song though with the Corrs!!!!!!!Ahhhhh. His voice in that sends me over. I only have the CD. Where did you get the Video? I'm slowly trying to collect my goodies. I have my sites on the Zooropa Cd soon. How very nice of your mom Sushi :) you sound like such a great kid, who wouldn't want to reward you with a little extra something. I have the Unforgettable fire and I love MLK at the end. You just want to keep pressing replay over and over. all the U2 CD's are in my car and it seems like non stop u2 in there. I do have two other ones that are French. They are super cool, but don't get quite the air play as our dudes!!! My daughter and I had the good old War CD on yesterday at top level ....fun fun. Those critics aren't even constructive. I think U2 has paid it's dues and dosen't need that kind of crap. Have you noticed that it was the Mid west who did those reviews? Dare I say The Red States. I don't want to get too political, but they do think as certain way. Don't want to offend anyone, but I think they do want U2 in a special little hole and that is not them. The other reviews on the East coast might be fair, since they may be getting tired :(Hey Soulie, have you gotten the books yet? Killing Bono is a good one for how stupid and mean critcs and the music industries are. Hey Fanny, the men are heading your way!!! Can't wait to see some of the photos from those shows.Later guys......

I saw in the paper that live 8 will be on July 2nd!! hopefully, we will be able to see it on one of the music networks. Our guys are now resting up for a couple of weeks until their European tour. I was looking at the tour list for the fall, when they come back to the States, and I can't believe they are going back to Chicago for two shows!!! They don't deserve one show let alone two!! Soulie, have you gone on the web site streaming-clips.com? Some of the old as well as new videos are on there of u2,as well as other artistis. Anyway, the video of "Lemon" is on there and it is a true hoot,as you probably already know. I love the one for "The Sweetest Thing", very very cute. Now, I had read somewhere that he wrote "The Sweetest Thing" for Ali because he forgot her birthday one year. I think that is why on the video he is saying he is sorry so many times. I hope you can get on this site. I think the first time my sister got on she typed in the wrong thing and got some smutty site. It is a Dutch site I think, but they have some good ones on there. Have fun.

Hey Soulie, sorry to hear you were under the weather. That does sound like Ali doesn't it?, with the song. Unlike stupid Brittney Spears, who sold her wedding pictures for 2million and gave the money to her hubby as a wedding gift. Can we all at this point gag at the thought. I only know this info from VH1 when they were kind of making fun of her life style, I was trapped on the couch and nothing to watch kind of thing. Also mad at the fact that MTV did a thing on U2 last weekend and I totally missed it :( Did anyone see it? If you go to the U2 web site, it says it on there, but the times it was on were not good. Maybe they will re-do it. Oh well.

I found a site that shows the NEW video that they will put out for City Of Blinding Lights. Go to msn entertainment. I found it through good old google. You get to see the whole thing and the quality is very good. I also keep forgetting to mention on here a nerdy thing about my pet bird. He goes super crazy and sings the entire time I have U2 on,or when they com on MTV. Don't you think he is a smart little bird? Soon as the song is over he stops singing. U2 even has feathered fans as well :) He is just a parakeet, but he talks and is very very cool. He went all the way to France with us and back!!! His very favorite U2 song is Beautiful Day. When I found the new video just now and played it,he whistled through the whole thing. Cute huh!

Hey Fanny,I saw on BBC that the live 8 concert is free and that the guy who is putting it together said that because it is going to be free, that it will be a headache for him. I guess becuase they really have to plan extra for all the people, with security and other things.I was looking at an old video on streaming-clips.com when they filmed "Where the Streets have no Name" and it was funny. They did it on a roof top of a building in Los Angeles and caused a huge traffic jam. Kind of like when the Beatles did the same in London. Very funny how they got in trouble and the police shut it all down after the song. You never know if it was just for the drama of the video,or they really did do it without authorization. Very different with the new one that they filmed in New York City "All Because of You", I think that was organized better, and they are no longer young rebels :) I wish I was still living in Europe so that I could go to London and see that concert. I guess it will have to be just the good old T.V. for us over here. Unless we wanted to go to the one in Philadelphia, but that wouldn't be as fun since U2 won't be there. Have fun!!!!

OMG I SAW THE CITY OF BLINDING LIGHTS VIDEO YESTERDAY I DIED I SWEAR I DIED AND WAS RESSURECTED BY U2 HEAVENLINESS!!!!!!!!!!!! I was screaming my guts out at school, telling everyone I knew that they had not started living until they had seen this video and stuff like that... I swear I fainted when COBL came on the radio in one of my classes.... oooohhhhhh.... Someone claimed they had seen it but refused to tell me what it was like, and everyone else was like, "Why are you freaking out it's just a video!" but then I told them it wasn't JUST a video, it was a LIVE CONCERT FOOTAGE VIDEO where there was no faky-faky singing off of vocal tracks!!! And of course nobody understood why I was freaking out because of course they hadn't been to a concert and wouldn't know what it was like to practically re-live the concert through this video....... omg you people MUST SEE IT!!!!!!!!!!!
From: Soulcatgirl on 2005-06-04 23:00:56
Hey ..*waves*..... yes the Streets video was quite a big deal at the time they shut the joint down as one might say.....and yes the cops freaked out because first of all the location was NOT one of the safer places in LA and once word got out people were heading in from everywhere jamming the streets and freeways to get there .... I have all the original tape of the event and it was totally cool but I can see (now that I'm older :) that it would have been a real headache for the authorities!!! (BONO was SO HOT UP ON THAT ROOFTOP>>>>sizzle*)The same thing happened in San Francisco when they put on the free concert people jumped in there cars buss's trains and headed by foot to get there...the radio was the horn blower in those days putting the word out and it was a mad scene....of course the rest is history including Mayor Feinsteins stupid fine she imposed on Bono for defacing public property.....although the sculptor later said he was honoured to have had BONO add to his work....*KITTYGRIN* ..... awe a trip down memory lane...thanks gals for mentioning it.....grrrrrr...RUBY does BONO scream " JACK OFF " at one point????? OH MY HEAVENS I ALMOST SPIT MY DRINK OUT ON MY PUTER !!!!!!...LMAO......I'm still floating in heaven hun....... :)~grrrr

gggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!! let me just say (again) there are some FRIGGIN BRILLIANT closeups..... the boys (Soulie I've decreed now that I am allowed to call them 'the boys' because in the video Bono very clearly declares that 'time won't take the boy out of this man') were SO HOT!!!!! Edge........ wow....... haha... sadly for the moment and a half that Larry is on camera he simply refuses to look up and seems to be concentrating really really hard on his tom drum..... but when Adam's on camera, he's being TOTALLY as Adam-ish suave as he can!!! WICKED COOL!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I think I'm gonna go watch it again...

Hi guys,My dad just sent me a clipping of the letters people wrote about the second interview that Bono had with the Tribune guy. There was one from the Netherlands that was not too kind about our boys, and some other uptight people cheering for the journalist who "called out U2" ,but there were some nice comments also. It makes me mad when the average joe expects bands to be like machines and never make a mistake,or it seems like they just can't please these very crittical people. I think you really have to hear the music again and again to get all the subilties in each song. It is like going back to a museum and looking at modern art....Good art will make you go back and see other things in it or feel other things. I think when the journalist said that he had to go back and listen to one of the songs,he really did see the beauty in it. I think a lot of these critics hear it once make their judgements and rush to a dead line without thinking. I think I agree with Bono when he said that they do deserve it sometimes, but he didn't think so this time. I think the CD really reflects where the guys are in their life now,not in the 90's or 80's but now!!! So, you get this journalist saying that he loved Pop and other "daring" albums, but at the time those came out, they were not so well recieved. what is up with these guys? do they not go back and read the stuff they wrote in the past. Hey Soulie, do you know if they took off the grafitti on the sculpture in S.F.? Too bad if they did!!! Was he not so delicious in that other one,"Where the streets......" It truly made me smile when I watched it the other day on that site.I heard that they will relese City of Blinding Lights next week on MTV. or Vh1, I think they want it to be out when they start in Europe.Later guys...

Thanks guys went to see COBL....had a heck of a time getting it..... but finally and its way cool.....Oct about those critics I would even go so far as to say alot of them including film critics just read others reviews and reprint the same thing without ever actually seeing or hearing the material for themselves. thats where all this *sellout* crap lingo sprang from...catchy but its not true... When Bruce got up at the Hall of Fame and told everyone that U2 HAD NOT taken the money from the I-pod and nefariously stuck it in their cache's I think that about put the squelch to all that bullcrap (at least it should have)....personally I don't care if they make a gazillion dollars from there art...I sure as hell would and I wouldn't look back... it would be no ones buisness whether I spent it all on myself or gave every last cent to the preservation of earth worms...but it just so happens Bono has a far greater goal and message to spread and its called love and loving human beings and caring for our fellow humans....which to me is just about saying it all in a nut shell ...if the critics want to bitch why don't they bitch to there readers every night that people are starving and dying from preventable diseases and we have the power to STOP THE MADNESS....instead of wasting the space in there papers on trivial garbage that nobody believes anyway....ok kitty sure has had alot of soap box moments this tour...*wipes brow*....and yes they had to remove the grafitti...ROCK 'N ROLL STOPS THE TRAFFIC.....what a shame rock'n roll and the people that make it have always had to defend * it's-self *.....grrrrr

Hey Soulie, Thanks for the rant on the critics! They truly can make you so mad. I read this real neat thing on this other web site called @U2.com,written by a lady about my age , and she seems like she writes articles for a living.anyway she worte this very eloquent piece addressing the two bozos in Chicago, and it made my day!! If you get a chance you can go to that site and hit on the left side one of the clicky things, like news ,I can't remember. Maybe I will go back and find it and write it on here. Tomorrow is the big day for Brussels!! Lucky dogs :) I can't wait to see the posts and the pictures from those shows!!Bye guys.

Hey guys, I found the correct info for that site. It is ....atu2.com when you get there look on the left side ,and click news. Then look for the article on June 3rd that says "Who cares about bad reviews..Bono Does" and you can read what she wrote. Her name is Laura.

Hello all Sushi is back after two days of computer-less suckfest. Restriction sucks. Neways, lotsa stuff has happened in two days.. wow. Just this afternoon I realized it was June 9. ONE MORE DAY UNTIL BRUSSELS!! =DSo, they got a new plane. I hate it. It's like as big as the tiny propellor plane that I rode from Vancouver (BC) to Seattle last year. Ick. The setlist has changed!! Hopefully the Love and Peace/Bullet The Blue Sky act won't go away... erg. Less than one month until Live 8!! Less than one month until G8!!! One day til Brussels!! EXCITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! New Boston pix... Cool. Me and my friend wanted to go to Philly for Live 8 so we spent an hour or so looking for plane tickets. The cheapest ones were $900-$1000. Grrr. No Philly for us... unless we bike there....... *evil grin*I drew a pic of Bono and Edge as a kitty. In another kitty pic, Edge was having a fit because Bono had taken his beanie off... and what was under the beanie was baldness.Last week my math teacher got so sick of hearing the B-word (Bono) that she made me sit up front and gave me a gold slip. That's a bad thing. The next day the Edgegay friend and I were passing notes about a pic of a certain Irish rock star that she drew.. he had bangs and looked more like Keith Richards than himself. I told her that her Bono looked like Bono from 1988.. and she said 'I know' and I said, "how?" and she said she had seen some pix. I asked her where and she said 'Puter' I started cracking up. After a few more minutes of trying to wring it out of her, she told me that I had sent her some pix... which I had. But those pix were from 1983. Not 1988. And so I ascended to my soapbox:"You're so stupid!! Those pix were from 1983, not 1988!! You dumb person! I don't believe you, you're so demented! AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!! There's a big difference between 1983 and 1988. Five whole friggin years, you dumb one! 1983 Bono had a MULLET! You do know what a mullet is right? Great. 1988 Bono DID NOT have a mullet!!! His hair looked kinda like mine!!!!! Do I have a mullet?!! I didn't think so!! GRRRRR!!!"And so we agreed that I would send her some pix of 1988 Bono just to clarify things. *sigh*

Hey sushi, Sorry to hear of your troubles. Glad to hear that you clarified the whole Mullet versus cool long hair thing. I think even Bono wants to forget the mullet. I really want the new book called U2&I by Antoin Corjibin (sp?) Huge coffee table book on photos since the early 80's. I hope I get it for my birthday.

hey all... last week my dad came in while I was playing guitar. I was staring a hole through a paper w/ the 'tab' for Bad on it... it didn't sound anything like Bad. So he took the guitar from me and asked me to put Bad into El CD Player. when I did he started futsin around on the neck til he got the sound he wanted to then began twiddling the strings for ten-some minutes till he turned off El CD Player and ding ding dinged them strings and I was like "Oh my friggin gosh it's BAD!!" (not bad as in sucky, but bad as in the song) I was so excited i love that song to death even though I can't relate to it at all and I have no 'representation comprehension skills' so I can't see at all how it's about heroin, but i love it anyway so i started writing it down and playing it and playing it and playing it and then get this: I figured out the next riff ALL BY MYSELF!!! Mwahaaaa!! I ROCK!!! =D
From: Kat on 2005-06-12 11:44:57
haha. *claps* It's a great feeling.. until people start expecting you to tab stuff out for them as well, like you have nothing else to do, so watch out for that, lol. I love Bad so much. For me personally, it's pretty easy to relate to.. but lets not go into that, or I'll get weepy, lol
