You know Lucia,I was wondering the very same thing. I don't think it is fair either. Especially giving Chicago three more shows when they were not so nice to them. I think maybe they don't do it in Europ twice is because it is much smaller and you could get to one of them with not too much difficulties. I think in 06 they will be going to places like Asia and Australia.

...oh..what happened in Chicago?..I can tell you if U2 would come back here for a 2nd leg shows it would be sold out again...at least in Italy...however we just be patience and wait....and wait...and wait..for a miracle!...the only possible thing for me is the Pavarotti and friends show but it would be at least end 06 or 07...it generally takes place in Modena city which is about 4h drive from Rome...I did it in 95 but they just sang a couple of songs..One and Miss Sarayevo..ok let's go for Dublin and their Clarence Hotel...jeez..I need to rob a bank though!... :-)))

Nothing really happened to them, it was just two big newspapaers in Chicago gave them very unfair reviews. One of them being the Tribue,and Bono was so upset,that he personally called the man who wrote it to meet with him and to tell him that he was very unfair in his critique. My Dad lives over there and he sent me all the clippings. Up until they went to Chicago, all the reviews were fair and good ones. After they were in the Republican mid-west then they started getting reviews like the ones in Chicago. I think there was one in Pennsylvania that was not great either. I have been keeping track of most of the reviews in Europe and they have all been good. So, I think they just need to give Chicago one show and our area three shows!!!!!

Ingrid, I just bought the U2 ipod a week ago and I will be putting on all the collection of u2 soon as my husband comes back from his business trip. It contains all 400 of their songs and 40 rare ones, I cant wait. That particular iPod was 349.00 dollars here when it came out,then they changed it a bit,with the color screen instead of black and white. Then they dropped the price only 20.00 dollars. So, I'm glad I waited for all the changes. Since it has 5,000 songs my husband and I will be sharing it. I wrote about this on the other post with zk, and I can't remember if you read it or not. I also bought this leather case that was made for it. It is Black and red and looks super cool with it. I love it and how clear the music on it is. You can hear things on it that you don't on other formats. You'll see when you get it :)

Well, here's my heartbreaking story for you!! I got my U2 ipod a while back, and last week, I came to get the full U2 works off itunes.. only to discover that I was 2 days over the time limit.......! So I got ice cream, and watched Diagnosis Murder.. lmao, it cheered me up no end!! So now I'll have to pay for all those hot B-sides that I don't have *hits someone with a spade and burys them in the garden* lol

I know oct, how much was the leather case? the ipod website isnt saying ANY prices!what poster is coming with it?and since I allready have seven of the fourteen cds, I prolly won't buy the full collection...

The cool leather case was$ 39.95 dollars. At first I didn't want to get it but since the Pod is shinny and laquered looking, I was worried it would scratch. I love the leather case since it is black with red stiching, it is well made and enhances instead of taking away. It leaves the back exposed with clear plasic to see the names on the back. I only have 6 or so of the cd's but I think I'm just going to get the whole package to have it all at once. Plus all the extra. I saw on the coupon that you have 120 days after you buy it, so I'm safe until my husband gets home on Friday. The poster is cool, they have smaller pictures of them through out he ages. Even one from way, way back when Bono is wearing those black and white check pants. On the back there is a full photo of them walking on a beach,looks like Ireland, and Bono wrote something that covers the top portion of it. In his own handwritting it reads: "The hardest thing to do is to stick together mates,family,marraige,business,bands. it's like resisting gravity....its like King Canute sitting in his chair trying to talk back the tide...but you can,and we have,and we will,turn the waves around...the alternative is too predictable..You rid the room of argument...you empty your life of the people you need most, Bono 04 Kind of neat huh?Kat, that is something I would do normaly, forget about the coupon then go later to try and use it :( It is kind of expensive though, so if you are like me you probably over thought it and now the time was up.

Are they really going to be on this weekend? That will be super fun then, I'll have to stay up late then. SNL Starts at 11:30 at night and I think goes until almost 1:00am. The musical guests play two sets, one at the begining and another at the end, so of course, if you really like the band you have to keep your eyes proped open. I could tape it, but I haven't figured out how to tape on this new system I have.

The Vertigo advert was here only in the fall and then they switched it to something else. I liked it, but people complained that they were trying to ram the Vertigo song down our throats,obviously these people are not super big u2 fans like us, because I loved it every time it came on. Like I said though, it is a California company, so they probably didn't air it in Europe.

That's cool they showed it in England! You never know which ones make it your way. I've gone on and one about something and people from Europe say"What add?" I guess being that U2 are from Ireland that it would make sense to air it there also.

We are about 45 minutes outside of New Orleans. Got 150 mph winds/damage to the roof and there are almost no trees left. No electricity/water/stores/gasoline clean cloths or anything. But my family is all okay (husband has no job as it is under water in Jefferson Parish) but thanks for the concern. We are the first to actually get power back so we are very lucky and blessed. Had to see Bono's face to feel a little like normal.

I couldn't get out from here anymore! :) These are such great pictures, and especially since I have never been in a U2 concert and will not be, at least not in Vertigo-tour.. I'm from Finland... (The country between Sweden and Russia). And unfortunately my number 1 boys missed my country this year, because they couldn't get the Olympic Stadion... "sob"

..hi Susanne....nooooooooooooooo....they couldn't get the stadium in Helsinky?..jeezz...very unlucky..during Pop it happened the same thing here in Rome,but Bono was so upset not to play here that at the end the show was in an airport!!!!!...huge place...when they opened the gate ( there was just GA) we run for 2 km to the stage...with 35 c° and 70% of humidity....but unbelievable as always!!!

...getting grey with envy...Wow, the coolest band of the world, and they're playing in an airport! Yep, that's U2... :) Well at least I can watch these lovely photos and listen the music at the same time, and I almost get that feeling... But just almost...Btw, I was in Rome in may 2004. We went for a student trip, and it was such a great time. We even saw the Pope, which was pretty much the highlight of the journey. Nice place, Rome, nice people...

oh that reminds me lucia, I am going to rome in octobre with school,.. do you have any tips for me where to go and such? places I really have to see...not the real sightseeing cuz we'll do that with school.. but fun places more like

well Ing...it depends from where is your accomodation and i can tell you more...btw Rome is a very nice place to have fun,not dangerous at night and full of people coming from all europe...and generally October is a beautiful month to visit it...warm weather!

..yeah Oct..Pompei is south Rome but just two hours and a half driving...so you can visit it in a day it is such a beautiful place...Oct you're a real traveller...you don't miss anything!! :-)))

My hubby and I kicked our selves for not trying to go to Pompei. We spent three days in Rome,three days in Florence,and three days in Venice. We thought next time we go we would go farther south and also the lake area. That should be a fun trip. Have fun Ingrid on your tour of Italy. What class is it for?

I've never been to Boston,but my husband has. He liked it. There is a lot of American history there,since ti was part of the original 13 colonies. Nice old parts of the city and great food. A lot of Irish moved to Boston, so they dominate there and also the accent they have is very unique when they speak. Other than that I don't know. I would love to go there myself!!
