It was up against other shows that I wanted to watch and for some reason, I can't get my vcr to work!! I have digital cable and I think I'm missing some hook up. It is suppose to be on today at 12:00pm today so I may watch it then.

That is the only thing I missed when we lived in Europe,the fun shows here in the U.S. Don't get me wrong though there is pleny of garbage too,but there are some very intertaining shows here.

Ok this almost got lost in the shuffle!! The Bono Oprah was on in September 2002. I missed it also,as I moved to France in august 2002. I was hoping he was going to stop by Oprah's on the 19th with her season opener. They were in Chicago on the 19th throught he 21st of Sept, so I was hoping.

Thanks Sushi for wishing me a happy birthday. don't know if anyone wants to here about my Greenday concert,but I'll give high lights. First, never thought I'd enjoy punk music that much. They are truly talented individuals. The lead guy Billy Joe is something else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kind of reminds me of a cartoon character with soooo much bloody energy that you wish you could bottle it!!! He was a bit racey I must say and I would giggle to myself thinking about U2 doing any of the funky things they did. Big No ,but the image was too funny in my head. The neatest thing they did in the whole show was let three teenagers come up, who had a whole heck of a lot of talent, and and let them play!! The three guys that came up were soo good the audience went crazy. I loved when he was looking for the volunteers and he would grill them and say"For real, do you really play?" Then when they were all in place up there,they rocked the house big time!! The 17 year old that was playing Billy Joe's guitar was the luckiest, since when he was done, he got to keep the guitar!!!! He deserved it since he was so darn talented for being that young. They also made sure these people that were left standing somehow, come forward to the front and get these really great seats. Here is the weird twist to the the last two days though. Two days before I left for this show, I would get in the car to pick up my daughter, and U2 would be on. first time it was, "The Sweetest Thing", then day two pick up my daughter again fire up the car and it is" With or without you." I go to Sacramento to see Greenday with my sister and I tell her of the strange U2 goings on. She laughs and thinks it is funny. We walk into the supermarket and they are playing "One" she thought that was funny. We go back to her house and I have to move my car. "Pride " comes on. She said no way you must have a cd in . I assured her it was her radio station from Sac. We get back home from seeing Greenday and once again I have to do a shuffle with my car. My sis is in the house I fire up the beast and Beautiful Day comes on!! I ran into the house with the car running for her to hear this weird thing that has been following me for two or mor days now!!! How strange is this?????? I think our boys knew I was cheating on them with Greenday for the night.All I can say about Greenday is that they are super good live and there is a lot of great energy in the air with them. For my birthday on Tuesday, I'm going to my favorite restaurant in Berkeley with my family, I can't wait!!:) Soulcat,my sister was reminicing about her concert that she went to many years ago to see Billy Idol and she said that she was able to be right there in front. She went with a pal and they were so close that When billy was sweating up a storm, it got all over them!! She said that her friend and she decided that they were not going to take a shower forever after that. Cute huh?

good that you had a great tim at the concert!! but these concerts sure takes a lot of energy from you..I've also had some weird U2/cars things going on,hehe:) so we were driving in our car and our radio is really broken. but suddenly it started to play,and guess what it was U2!haha=)

ohh I got that weird thingy too, when I turn on my mediaplayer, it's nearly allways u2! strange no? ( hehe I'll tell you the truth, let's say from the 243 items there are uhhh *counts* 2(corrs ft bono isn't u2 rite;) + 1 linkin park song, A bon Jovi song, an ep of the culture show, a nirvana song, 11 State of Eye song(my music teachers band,, they're pretty good! visit their site for some of their music, www.stateofeye.com) and uuhh that's it... 18 non u2 songs... ^^ okay I have alot of music vids and tours in it but still, 216 u2 items isn't that much right?heh well oct, maybe the guys are mad at you because you cheated on them;) but I must say I'm impressed! there are not much 30plussers who are into punk!... hee hee my parents would decide that as crap prolly! hm... I'm not into greenday but that's just me... hehe well I like alot of songs from random rockbands, but not enough to buy an album of it... so I'm not having those songs.. ^^

I don't think I could full on go to a bunch of Punk concerts, but Greenday ,Yes, they are local dudes that are very very talented. If you saw that concert you would think the same. Hey,Bono loves them ya know. My sister and I had ourselves a great time I must say,but no one touches my boys that is for sure,and I can't wait until November 9th. They are my kings of Rock.

Sushi, I think they ,Green Day, would hate to think they are wayyyyy to popular. You should have seen some of the antics they did at their concert. Probably to keep the edge in their shows. The lead guy Billie Joe, hates celebrity etc, so I bet he would hate to hear that their music is played to the ground. I have respect for how talented they are,but I really don't condone the drugs and problems he gets into for drinking too much. Like for instance being arrested in Berkeley in 2003 for drunk driving, Not cool especially since he has two little boys. So he needs to cut that out. but musically they are very talented. He has been playing music since he was 5 ,so you know it was ment to be for him.

yeah Green Day doesn't seem to me to be the kind of people to be as popular as they are, or to even like being that popular.. they are punk, are they not? and I thought the whole idea behind the punk movement was to be different, and yet they're played as much and are as popular as pop artists. They played Blvd of Broken Dreams at the school dance!! Ok.. First: That is NOT a dancing song. Second: It's PUNK music. You can't dance to punk music, and regardless of how pupular they are, it just doesn't go with the groove of the school dance. Third: They played it as a *slow* song where all the dummy lovebird couples glued themselves to each other and called "swaying back and forth" dancing. That song is not romantic in the least bit!!! *screams* Aww.. Billie Joe is like that? too bad.. he's one heck of a cool cat... he shouldn't do stuff like that =( I'm happyyyyy!!! for several reasons: (not listed in order of importance =P)1. My mom just bought the U2 CDs we dont have, excluding The Best Ofs and Passengers.2. I don't have any homework.3. At a bookstore a few nights ago I read 11 PAGES OF THE BONO BOOK, Bono on Bono, Conversations.4. My science teacher has been to 10 U2 concerts and he's the ONLY person I can relate to in terms of U2, except maybe my parents. 5. Several of my classmates in my science class like U2 a lot.6. Along with the U2 CDs, my mom bought The Killers and Ramones, plus some other artists i really like. YAY!! ^^

Wow super groovy day Sushi. Remember my U2 following me, i.e music of theirs playing in the car and stores? I went to pick up my daughter at school and she meets me at Whole Foods,great store by the way,and a very old u2 song from the war album was playing!! Then my daughter told be that the guy she likes was singing Sunday Bloody Sunday through the halls and has it on his cell phone as a ring tone. she said that she will wear her tour shirt to see if he notices :) I just bought "Boy " over the weekend. I had a pretty groovy rest of the day as well Sushi. Isn't it sad that some people care too much what others might think. I don't live like that and I taught my girls to not do that also. Popularity at school is a true joke, but I can tell I don't have to say that to you. It is the kids that were a bit different and have some substance to themselves that go on to do great things, not the followers and popular ones!! Although, I have seen SOME popular kids do well,i.e. our man Bono :)

hehehe he sure was popular.... hmm but oct, don't underestimate the popularity thing on school... don't get me wrong, I hate wannabe's who try to be in a group or so by smokin or dressing in a certain way, but still.. popularity is something... I am, well, the most hated person in my class,.. and it's not that good for your confidence to be that, and bullied... well after four years, it's finally over, cuz the worst bully is in another class...he chose greek and I latin, so those split up.. and now the bullying is mostly over, only little ocasions.. but I don't care as long as I got my music!!!

Hang in there kid! Those bullies have issues that will later catch up with them in life. Karma Big time on them. When someone bullies it means they are very unhappy in their life. If you are a happy person you don't bully. You will come out of it a strong individual and do great things. They will wallow in their own muck and be losers!! I know it may not look like that now,but trust me it will happen. My oldest was bullied a lot and now she has the last laugh. She is doing really well at University and married to a wonderful guy. Her peers that were bullies never finnished high school and now are pregant and not married and going no Where. You will be fine. Music is a great escape isn't it?:)

yeah I think I found a way to put my sorrows into the music I listen too... it makes me feel free, in a way I can't explain... but it sure makes me feel better and I think I can deal with my anger and being agressive alot more... cuz that's what the bullying made me... very, very agressive... I couldve been suspended for a week or so from school, cuz I headbutted somebody.. but nothing happened tho.. Iono why.. but that was three years ago... anyway I think everybody has a special link to relate music with, and that's why people like different types of music... I really don't like people saying I love all music... that's just not true... you can like alot of music, I even like some pop songs, and maybe uhh one rap song(eminem, some tunes of him are ok)but my real music roots are into rockNroll.. and same with ppl saying this sucks, they mostly don't even know what they're talking about, I mean, saying good charlotte is rock(POP!) and metallica heavy metal... cmon, that's just ridiculous! some ppl should think before they speak!

Girls, I really relate to what you write, and it brings back a lot of not so nice memories. I once was bullied at school because I liked U2 so much. When I became a fan at 17 and started travelling around for their shows, people I had believed to be friends suddenly became very weird and hostile towards me. They really attacked me for my enthusiasm for the band and thought it to be totally over the top. I knew if I kept on doing this and followed through with my plans about flying to Dublin to see the Zooropa shows, that would have been it. But the music gave me so much and made me so happy that I decided to follow my heart and break with that stupid folk who had revealed themselves not to be real friends anyway. Just an intolerant bunch of people who looked down on anyone who didn't behave according to their norms.And what can I say - it was the right decision, and of course I never regretted it (though it was hard at the time because I had two more years of school to cope with). But I'm sure that's also the reason why the Zooropa tour and the Achtung Baby album mean so much to me. In a way, they are the soundtrack to my personal emancipation.

good story,slate.I actually feel like the music is better than my friends now,and actually I sometimes feel more related to you guys,than my "realifefriends". my friends don't allow me to talk about U2,it's almost like that sometimes. so when I actually talk about U2,I often don't say that it is U2 I'm talking about=) and if I don't mention U2,they actually find it funny most of the times..and I think that if all of we on this site were friends in the realife we would be I think the bestfriends that could ever be.I know I sound like I'm crazy or something when I'm writing all this stuff,but it's just the way I feel about it.I have seriously plans about moving to Dublin when I get older,but you'll never know about things like that..haha=)Hugs to all of you guys! you mean a lot to me..!

Okay... my story... a kind of a sad story, but whatever, it's my story. It's a story about a song of U2, wich is in my humble opinion the best song of them... (i was treated in Chicago, 2 nights on a row the song live!!)I've been a fan of U2 since '84. I became a fan by seeing a German broadcast on TV of their performance in the "Dortmind WestfalenHalle". There they played this song, a song called "Bad".After Live Aid in '85 my best friend an i went fot a holliday to Spain, just playing U2's performance of Live Aid over and over again... at the end off the vacation we made a promise to eachother.. the last one of us living, should play U2's Live Aid performance as loud as it can be played at the funeral.... Here comes the sad part..Then, about 10 years ago, his wife had a premature birth of his daughter and the kid died. Due to his work we simply ar not able to see eachother every week, and the funeral was the first time i saw him in months. I was very surprised, when at once the music started and "Bad" was played... he just turned his head towards me (he was surrounded by his direct family) and he blinked his eye to me. I blinked back at him. That blink was everything what had to be done, to understand eachother... at this moment, our agreement still stands... and i hope, really hope it will stand for another long time!!

A memorable moment made even more memorable by the presence of such a brilliant song. So sad, but so beautiful...

Hm, these are some very heavy stories... It's amazing to see, what music can mean to people and how it can help you to handle difficult moments in your life. I think in your age, Fanny and Ingrid (umm, I'm not quite sure, how old you are, Fanny, but I suppose you're still at school so...) it's quite difficult to be a little bit different than the others. But already in (senior) high school things were very different: There it was only a good thing, if you did something differently than the others, and naturally it got something to do with the fact that people in there have generally grown up a bit more, became more mature... This may be a bit weak comfort now, but trust me, things get better eventually...And when it comes to friends... Well, I just think that true friends respect things you happen to like, even if they don't like the same thing very much. And you should be able to talk to your friends about the things you like. I have some friends who are not that into U2 (altough they do like some of their songs) and they always tease me a bit about me liking them enough to be called a fan, (they for sure make me know every time they've seen something negative written about U2) but it's all just a running joke between us, since if I liked to talk about U2's music or comment Bono's odd posings to them, they would listen as much as I'm ready to listen endless talking about Coldplay (my friend doesn't seem to do anything else these days except talk about those guys, and well, I'm not that interested on their music or them, but what wouldn't you do for your friend.....). But, as I said to Ingrid earlier, as least you can talk about U2 in these sites as much as you want, and everybody here just love it! :)

Hey guys, I got the U2&i book for my birthday!! My sweetheart hubby came through with it. He also gave me a lovely strand of real pearls!! So, I had a very nice birthday!! Got lots of other goodies too.Dinner was wonderful. And when we got in the car to get home they were playing "Pride" on the radio.....My husband said "Well, that is the perfect ending to a nice birthday for you" The guys are haunting me arent' they? But in a good way.

wow fanny... wow... I think we are kinda soulmates!! I feel exactly the same.. but luckily my friends accept it, they tease me with it, my friend who also likes u2 sometimes starts a joke with someone else, how many words can we think up to put before bono, starting with the letter -random alphabet letter every day- and they do it all day! or they made up a story about me climbing in bono's hotelroom in a bathing suit or so... hehe they really make fun of me sometimes, but in a friendly way^^ they also do it with the music teacher I am befriended with, who's in a very coollll band... but I also do the same with the u2dude about our physics teacher, he is quite close with her, and a character of James Bond(Miranda frost, die another day) cuz that's all he can talk about! wich is quite a miracle, since hes kinda nerdy, and NOT into girls and stuff... Knappe, your story moved me, and my wmp started playing bad!!! you know what they say, toeval bestaat niet!, it's quite strange, since its a chance of 1/231.... okay now I'm getting too confused!anywayz, I have heard it TOO MUCH that it gets better in the future, I DONT LIVE THERE OK???? sorry to say it this way, but that's all adults have to say, but I KNOW it's gonna be better, but what is that gonna help me now? NOT! so that's why I think my parents don't understand me, and neither do the teachers... well except for thee music teacher eh;) he's pretty relaxed and cool... and I still think it's a pity I've never had him for music class:( and now I'm not having music anymore.. sad thing... but luckily heres sunday bloody sunday to cheer me up... but the strange thing in u2's music is... I love every piece of it, but what intrigues me the most is larrys drums... I feel every rythmn and I want to bang my hands on the table in that way(wich I do too often, my sis shouts from her room that it's banging all over the house alot!) and I don't know... there's something magic in those drums that attract me like a magnet.... and that's really confusing me cuz I love edge's guitarworks, and I want to play that.. but it weren't the guitarnotes attracting me to u2.. first song of the new album I heard was, crumbs from your table I think..I got the album on my mp3player at a friends(my pc was down) and I listened to goth music first(nightwish)-wich I really dislike now,... that shit only makes you depressed!- and there was this music, I checked my mp3 for the title, and such and I liked it.. but it was more strange to me.... also the guitar in that song is very strong.. but when I listen to a live version of one atm, I actually am focussed on the drums automatically, gawd I really am freaking myself out now... too much random blabla from myself out of nowhere, well I gotta go, I'm runnin outta -time- I have to go to a meeting for the Rome thingy... can't believe I'm actually goin to be at school at 8 pm ><p.s. oct, your radio is stalking you!!!!

Hey Ingrid I keep forgetting to tell you how I forever will be thankful for the dutch person who imigrated to California named Alfred Peet!!! He opened up the coffee roasting company called "Peet's Coffee and Tea" The best coffee in America, although there is retarded Starbucks that people still flock to. I am a member of the "I hate Starbucks" web site. Anyway, Peet's Coffee was started in the hippy days of Berkeley with all the cool writers hanging out in the original Vine street one. Now they are a bit bigger ,but not like creepy StarF**k's . The Dutch people rule with Coffee!!!

Ok... my eyes are watering now.. and I can't tell if I'm crying or if it's just my contacts that are bothering me.. but thanks you guys so much for sharing your stories.. its that kind of stuff that really makes this forum incredible.. =]I don't have anything to share like that... I suppose I'm lucky. It's strange.. I would have stuff to share like that if I had discovered U2 earlier in my life.. in the summer before sixth grade I was going through a REALLY strange depression that fell out of the sky and landed on my head. I was having big emotional problems and I felt like everyone hated me.. but I didn't have any way to do anything about it, so I just cried myself to sleep every night. I sort of wish that I had U2 in that time. I don't know. But it doesnt matter because I have them now. =))

Bingo, africa ^^ Peter stuyvesant has somewhere in the 18th or 19th century made alot of journeys to south africa and all around africa, and well, they made a trade connection, and there's still peter stuyvesant products here like coffee, tobacco, cacao wich are guaranteed made with the best for the africans.. so it's quite a good thing ;)Fanny, I died today of a BIG inner laugh... some of the popular jerks in my class(well together they are, but in person they're.. ok) was like, I'm not a u2 fan but I do like some of their songs, Sometimes you cant make it, I like City of blinding lights, and I started, and I bet you know elevation, beautiful day... he was like... yeaah I like those too... and my whole class was like ELEVATION? is that from U2? rofl and then(our class were only 6 ppl or so, rest went to a college thingy) the others were like... hm they sure have some good songs, and in english class they had boxes and an mp3player, and turned on some lame hiphop, I had my mp3player in my ears, full volume, and then my ears got screwed by All beccause of you... but god it was worth it to see THEIR faces!!!! ALL BECAUSE OF YOU WAS LOUDER!!! even tho my plugs were IN my ears, and they had boxes! I was laughing sooooo badly there... Sushi, your story is quite sad... well I had some kind of depressive thingy, and I listened to goth music then, and THAT is very bad to do! I really hate it now because it had made me feel awful! but luckily I knew it was because of the music, and I found u2... well, they kinda saved me from being a total emotional wreck.... I think... hmm I think we are all connected to each other by this great community of u2 lovers ^^ We share something, that makes us connected.. and one thing is the best, we never run out of topics to talk about;)

Did you guys go to the concert goers reviews for the Boston show on the 3rd? there is a guy that wrote a review that is very funny and moving. It is called "Concert of blinding Lights" I laughed a lot when I read that one.

Ingrid, I loved Rome and all the history. I had some not so great food there though, but I think I ended up in some not so great restaurants. I was sad to see all the graffiti on some of their beautiful buildings, but that city is so old that it is amazing to think of the history. I loved the colosium and across the street there are more things to see that are just there to walk through(ruins) I think I loved Florence and Venice a bit more though. I did however like the Vatican grounds. You will have fun though I'm sure. Stick with the pizza and I think you will be fine.By Dutch Artists I meant Vermeer and Frans Hals etc........ Great stuff. Last night when I watched u2 on Conan O'Brian. I was a bit sad at first becuase after they sang the first song,they went to sit by the host,and Bono seemed a little growchy :( Conan is usually so funny,but even he seemed a bit nervous around them. After they did the silly skit and sang another song, things lightended up a bit again and they sang amazing. Of course Larry never says anything and it is usually The Edge and Bono talking. This time Adam actually said something. Conan asked if,when they first started out, that Bono wanted to be the guitarist. Adam said yes,and made a super funny face. Then Adam said when that didn't work then he tried bass,that didn't work,so then he thought he would just sing,and the rest is history. Larry did say though that he wanted to have the band called "The Larry Mullen Band" and I think Adam said ,"That lasted five min!" Then poor Larry said he finally gave up being the front man because he was the drummer and he said"You can't lead from behind:( " Bono started laughing, almost in a mean way and said,"Well we all know what happended to the good looking drummer called "Pete Best" I thought that was funny and mean in a way. But he was in that kind of mood last night I guess. They sang "All because of you" ,Original of the species,Stuck in a moment,andVertigo . Bono had a bit of trouble at first with the first song and then when he talked his voice sounded a bit rough. But on the other songs he was perfect and it was a job well done. So that is a re-cap. Oh and in the skit thing it was mainly with the Edge and they were suppose to be from the year 2000 . One thing The edge said was " In the year 2000, we discovered that the song "I still haven't found what I'm looking for" refered to the fact that they were looking for BOO Berry Cereal in the supermarket and they still haven't found it. Boo Berry cereal is a sweet kid cereal here in the States. So that was funny. Then the Edge also said something about Bono's glasses being Crap. At that point Bono comes out and says that the reason The Edge wears a beanie is becuase he is hiding a tatoo that is on his forehead that says "I love Erkel" Erkel was this stupid character in a tv sitcom that was a nerd. The whole time they are doing this skit. They have these weird large metal balls around their necks and weird light(like they are from outerspace) and flash lights aiming up from the bottom. Very funny :)

You know what Soulcat, after I thought about it I had remembered how Bono was playing with his fingers while he was talking to Conan. I did notice that after that the songs were FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!! It would have been sooo much fun to be in that studio!!! I stayed up til 1:30 am and watched it that late!! My vcr is not hooked up right and I couldn't tape it. It was one of my insomnia nights so,it wasn't too bad. Adam was adorable wasn't he. I too loved his voice and how cool cat he looked. Larry was a cutie pie and normal and The Edge was funny and cute too. I loved when they did tha skit,since some of the stuff they were saying was so American :) Like the Boo Berry Cereal!! I was at Target the other day and saw the Cereal,and snickered to myself. Fanny girl did you get your Pod to work??? My huband downloaded Rattle and Hum for me and OOOO BABy hid voice on that is so beautiful...I had forgotted. Soulcat dont be afraid of the Pod . You just need to find a computer nerd friend and let them download all of your tunes and then you are set. I don't touch it, my husband does all of it. He by the was got a free iPod Shuffle in the mail form a contest. He put all his goodies on it and now we have the mini,the u2 and the shuffle. I of course took over the U2 one :) It is so nice when you download from the apple site, the picture of the album comes up. Tiny u2 pictures :)

Well, Soulcat I agree with you on letting Ingrid take the iPod in other circumstances,but the pick pockets in Ital's bigger cities.i.e. Rome, and in France(Paris) are truly gifted,and I would really feel bad if she lost it. They are as bold as brass and super fast. My daughter had her cell phone in her front pocket of her jacket super close to her. They reached over grabbed it and out the door they went in two seconds before she could even think about it. Another time she had a favorite jacket draped on her messenger bag, and when the train stopped someone grabbed it and jumped off the train. There are pick pockets everywhere ,but i'm telling you the ones in Rome and Paris are very good, and when you are out ofyour normal surroundings you become a bit more of a target.Hey guys, I was watching this morning news program,and they always have fun little segmants on there. I am so f****** mad. And depressed. It's Halloween night, 7:57 pm, and I'm stuck at home.I didn't get a costume. So I didn't go trickortreating. I didn't go to school today, mainly because I had an appt in the morning and my mom decided it wasnt worth it to go to school, but partly because today we were to wear our costumes. It's hard to do that if you don't have one. We haven't cleaned out our messages on our phone for three months. I just listened to a message from August from a friend's mom who was involved in the ONE campaign, she said she was doing a big fundraiser in September and she wanted me to be a part of it.She wanted me to be a BIG part of it.And I never got the message. September has gone and passed, and I missed the perfect oppurtunity to do what I've wanted to do since I joined the ONE Campaign. I am an idiot.I want to die.I am never going to skip listening to a phone message EVER AGAIN.*sushi is so mad and depressed that she can't even make the face to go with what she just said*"Ignorance is bliss."NO IT ISN'T. Sushi, I know what you mean, I have it too, very often...but if you're depressed you should listen to 'Walk On' It's U2's best cheer up song, it really helps you, just listen and advice, if you're depressed, go to bed (if it's possible) just sleep and when you wake up you probably feel better.I wiss you luck, and don't forget this: You're never the only one who has these problems and depressions!!

Ingrid, don't you think on I still haven't found....vid, he looks like he is going to crack up any minute? There are a couple of videos where it looks like he is going to bust out laughing. well I haven't seen it yet, but I'm off to watch the MTV EMA's!!! I just checked, the boy's aren't having a show tonight, so maybe,... they're there!!!!!!!!! god I hope so!!! well...I'll tell you if they won any tomorrow... but I don't think they're gonna win... green day will snatch them... *sigh* u2 should get at least one.. they're nominated 3 times.. but they never win any.... aahhh who cares... they're still the best!

I woudn't be surprised that Greenday would win, Their videos are good. I think Vertigo video should get some recognition though. MTV sucks in a big way in the STATEs now. Just hip hop crap and rap videos. The MTV awards this year turned out to be all Hip Hop and Rap. When Billie Joe of Greenday won one of the awards, it was like a breath of fresh air to see him up there!! He also said "It is about time a rock video won!!"

Uh, I have forgot today's that MTV Music Awards night, I just opened my telly too to watch them... Well they probably wont win anything, but yes, who cares, they still are the best!!!

I thought the best group went to Gorillaz, uh? Heh, I was watching the show only halfly, I read the Time at the same time... Don't think the MTV Awards are worth watching anymore, too much that rap, hiphop and other stuff, and I was also somehow quite shocked of Madonna's performance... And U2 won some prize????? I didn't saw that one, I just saw that when "Free your mind-award" was given to Bob Geldof, well that was nice. And I still don't like Coldplay or Greenday very much, but I think I have to listen their records before I can say anything.... Well they were certainly better than other performers, and Foo Fighters too.... But despite they didn't get any awards, they still are the best band, our U2.... By the way, I saw the newiest issue of The Guitar-mag (well it was new here) today, and Edgie was on cover of it and there was also quite long story about him...

Well susanne, I bought that one today! total guitar^^... I got so effin mad when I got in the book shop today... staring at paul macca's face AGAIN! THEY DIDNT GET THE EFFIN BONO EDITION~! WHY DO THEY HATE ME SO MUCH? WHY DO THEY TORTURE ME SO MUCH?????? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH This world ain't fair! grrrr I got so mad, then I read U2, saw edgey's cute face^^ and relaxed a bit, and took that one with me... it features a big intervieuw and also how to play beautiful day! well it's very complicated, but here's the part for sushi... well it explains chords and stuff a bit, so I might aswell try my dad's accoustic(my mom says she knows where it is... so she'll find it for me) and I wondered wich song you'd recommend is the easiest for a non guitarist to try... and do you think I should find the tabs somewhere or just try and do it with my ears?... I'm too wondering whether I should buy it, but it is quite expensive and well, if Edgie is talking lot about guitar playing (well it is a guitar-magazine) I probably don't understand very much about it... well it was 10 euros here.. quite expensive, but it contains a cd.. featuring beautiful day and alot other songs explained in the mag... but it's not complicated at all, since I'm not a guitar player, I want to be, but I'm not... THANK YOU SOO MUCH BOOMIE!! *hugs to death* Yay now I'm soo happy I can't put it into words.. ^^Easiest song, well probably One then Staring at Sun.. and unless you can recognize, play, and name all the basic chords of every rock song I wouldn't reccommend trying to figure it out, so go find the tabs. I had Slane for a while but I was borrowing from a friend, and she wanted it back, and I asked her a while later if I could borrow it again, but she said no (even though she hadn't watched it since I gave it back) but I have some live clips, like the WoWY from Boston and alot of Vertigo clips, so for now I'm happy.. *yuppers*

I came in... my mother said she had unpleasant news,.. turned out my fathers mother was feeling dizzy this mornign, went to the doctor, and he sent her to the hospital for a bloodcheck and some scans, and on the way to it she had a heart attack, and died..... the weird thing is...(wich also happened when our kitten got driven over, two months ago or so) it didn't hit me at all... I was just, how?.. more.. I wanted to continue what I planned to do, as in Ive loads of schoolwork to do and such.. and my mother didn't get me too I think, I patiently made myself lunch and sat on the couch eating.. she said I should go to my dad, he was upstairs... but he came down.. and they went to my grandma's house because my uncle was going there and he didn't have a key.. well and I had to tell my sister... my parents called her on cellphone, didn't work.. they called home twice or tryce.. she was late.. and I told her, and she was like WHAT?... that's all... when our kitten died she was totally crying for a day, or even more.. and I was affraid she would do that again... not that it's wrong, just that I don't know how to react on it.... I feel so strange.. like I don't contain any emotions at all.. except for strong feelings for persons or things I barely know.... I can't seem to cry at death... I really am a crybaby when I get mad, I usually cry... or when they bully me, wich finally stopped this year when the major one got in another class.. but it feels so weird... everyone being sad...except me... well it turned out I didn't do much schoolwork today.. got two sentences for english letter... tomorrow two big tests for math and science, wich I prolly ruin no matter what... but I dont know.. I can't talk about this.. just this makes it easier, but when I told my sister I felt the urge to cry... but I couldnt... I didn't want to... and I spent the entire day playing pokémon online and reading trough several u2 sitess... *sigh* what a terrible way to spend your day isn't it?

Ingrid, I'm very sorry to hear about your granny. But I think you are being too hard for yourself, if you think you don't have emotions when you're not crying hard in a situation like this; We all are having our own ways to show grief, I'm a total crybaby too usually, but when my father died and little later my aunt, I didn't cry for them at all in that moment, the tears came later. Usually when somebody dies you don't really realize that first, only when later you are doing some everyday stuff or whatever, then comes the memories which are the hardest and somehow sweetest too... And the grief hits, and you may find yourself crying in a bus like months later... Don't try to think it too hard, don't wonder how "should" you react, the reaction comes someday and when it comes, and don't try hold back it then...

hi Ingrid..I'm so terribly,terribly sorry for you. we all react the same way hun, so don't blame yourself. when I hear sad things like that I usually break down in my tears and I need to be alone for a while...(so I'm not very good to handle in situations like that.) I get angry at them because I don't want to believe it,but they sort of say that it is true.and just because you don't cry at first may be because you are in shock,like susanne said you can't believe it's true. but that doesn't mean that you didn't love her...again: I feel terribly sorry for you Ingrid=( things like this is never a good experience..

Ok guys it was an amazing night!! It was a much better show than the San Joseone in April, not because our guys were not good in SJ,but because the sound engineers did such a great job in the Oakland Arena. Every song Bono sang you could hear his beautiful voice!! No distortion. My ears didn't ring,and you could really enjoy each song to the fullest. When Bono sang to his dad(STYCMIOYO) I almost cried!!Such passion and intensity.Also when he sang "With or With out you," you could go right back to that beautiful video of him in your head! The girl he brought up was super cute and you can tell he picked her because she wasn't trying so hard,unlike this one cheesy girl that was falling out of her shirt and trying to look all seductive.The B mand even gave the girl a ride on his back!! Guess his back is feeling better. At the end he kneeled down and kissed her hand.One funny thing he said that made me laugh,was about his dad. He said that the last ten years of his life,everytime he would see him, he would tell Bono,"Would you take those fooking sun glasses off!!" So Bono takes them off, then says"This one is for you Bob" He launches into it and imediately you have chills. The rest of the night was so damn wonderful that it is hard to put in words. The only thing I can say is that I had THE worst seats in the arena(behind the stage,last row) and even way in hell up there I could hear the beautiful music and it felt like what other reviewers keep saying,that U2 knows how to make a huge arena seem like a small coffee house!! So very true. Being in the back, I could see a lot of things others in the front could not,like Bono had a computer screen in front of him on the floor and it had all the lyrics and it had all the prompts for his speaches,allthough I noticed that he really didn't rely on it so much and moved around a lot to even use it. When he sang "One" there was a funny thing on the screen that said,(Edge solo)then after that it had all the cords for Bono so he would be able to play. Funny. Larry ,The Edge and Adam were on fire also. Larry's drum solo on Love and Peace Or Else,blew me away!!! Adam is such a cool cat and he too went out on the elipse to toy with the audience. Bono gave him a peck on the lips and rubbed his head like a little kid,that was adorable. The Edge was SOOOOO good out there that there are no words for that very talnented man.I can't imagine going out to see them tonight when last night was so magical. But that is just me. It will be fun to ask Soulcat which night she liked best. But I can say that last night was what U2 is all about!! A kick ass band!!!

Oct, great to hear about your great concert! Well now we know why he takes his glasses off for that one song, how beautiful.. And I have been always wondering those screens, like how much Bono really uses them... Althouhg obviously they are needable sometimes when he forgots the lyrics...Ojjjj, how cute that thing you told about Adam and Bono.... And I'm very glad you could hear the concert although your seats weren't the best.. And huh, are you going for another concert, or did I get it wrong???????? I thought it was just me, that the show was so fab that I can't express it. And you have been to many more. The SJ one was not my fav,but it was special since it was my fist concert. I was sooo hoping that the sound quality would be better. I looked in the binoculars to see if I could see the people in your section. Were you in 106 last night or 126? if you were in 106,what were you wearing last night?

Ok Oct I've been waiting all day for you...squuuuueeee..... last night was a dream...... the set list was awesome everything flowed like a beautiful waterfall excet we in a barrel going with it ...holy hell what a ride.....the sound mix of Bono's voice was superb.....Back in April thats how it sounded for me when we were right on top of him but not in the rest of the arena...my friends were elsewhere and said not as great in San Jose....Last night we were in 106 and the sound was fabulous about the best I've ever heard at anybodys concert and mama I've been to alot....Bono was on fire.....grrrr and Edge OH Boomie I looked and he was so darling wearing his black sparkling is it a dragon on his shirt? .Adam had a Tshirt and looked sweet Larry was hexy cute and Oct I didn't see a wrapped arm but he was kicking butt on the drums WOW!!!! ...When they came out all energy with blinding light s then swung into the Patty Smith song jeeez Bono's voice just roaaared.....I about fainted from the sheer verocity of it then they just proceeded to blow ever cell in my body.....gawd I luv this band...!!!! I coud see Bono very clear and this is the first time I actually watched the light show(well enough to get the gist..hehehe) ...Holy SHEEEEEEET it's incredible..... !hahahah I can't believe I didn't see it before...!!! I'm gearing up for tonight and you know every time I've seen this band two in a row the second night is always better for me so I'm wearing my seat belt tonight cause I probably gonna take off tonight and never hit terra firma again..... You know I can't get my eyes off Bono and wasn't he just the sweetest when he talked (alot).... I so love him...it does make me cry and cry with so much joy my heart wants to burst .....gawd when he started singing One Tree Hill I almost cried his voice so sweet so pure...ok need to gather my thoughts cause I'm a mess.....grrrrr

We didn't watch the Marley Band we got soooo stuck in the traffic in San Jose....Paul MacCartney was at the arena and I forgot!!!! So we sitting on the freeway blasting U2 in tons of traffic.. When we came in parking lot there was a guy selling GA tickets for 200.oo a piece but I thought they could be fake so we nixed it....Oh one thing I know you guys like black and white BUT when they show him on the big screen without his glasses in Black and white he looks a bit ruogh and let me say I was looking at him in ful color at the same time and he looked way good! So bah humbug to that black and white it doesn't do him any justice and i for one do not like it...he looks alot better in living color and not at all rough..although his goatee is looking absolutely pure and sweet..heheheWell heck so many things to say but I have to get my buns in gear....forgive my sentences my speliing because Ive gone to U2land and I'm never coming back....hihihi...grrr see ya tomorrow....*chantsU2U2U2U2U2U2U2U2*

When you leave the parking lot we don't turn into traffic we turn right and take short cut to freeway so that we don't get stuck in the traffic.... Wow Oct and Soulie.. hell of a time you guys had.. nice.. congrats, wish I could do it again... =) Ingrid I'm really sorry about that.. when my friend died of cancer a few years ago I started crying immediately but I stopped for a while, I was just on a total emotion loss, then I started crying every day and I had to go to the counselor's office in the middle of class, during the funeral I cried my eyes out till they burned.. I still sometimes get teary about it.. so you never know whats gonna happen. *nods*I can't think of anything to say. I suppose this would be a good time to shut up before I say something completely idiotic =PP

Hi Ingrid, I just wanted to tell you that when I was 15 my grandmother died. My brother came to my school to tell me. I can remember not feeling very emotional about it either. I also vividly remember feeling bad because I wasn't all emotional. I don't think that I ever cried, or if I did, it was when I was alone and thinking about what she had ment to me. I loved my grandmother just like you probably loved yours. People just deal with loss differently.

I forgot to say condolences to you Ingrid. My dad was very close to his mom,but when she died he never once cried,yet he told me that when this friend of his died he cried a lot. You just never know how you will react in grief. Hang in there kid.

Oh, hah, I'm stupid.. well I found out last week, but I'm going to Costa Rica on Friday. I'll be gone for 9 days, so I'll be back on the 20th. Oh my, you guys crack me up. Good that the show was great for you and you enyoed every single second. As they said the Vegas shows sucked i was affraid for you. And now that i got San jose on DVD you tell me that it was shit??? But i dont think so . Ingrid so sorry for you. But you know what. Last year my godsons granny passed away only half a year after her man has passed and he didnt cry one single tear. And we were afraid that it would come out later in a really worse matter but nothing happens still. He was only 13 than and he really love her. She was his favorite granny if to say so and they lived together in a house and she cared for him while his mom was at work. So. it is of course ok how you handle it. What ever is good for you is right. You have to feel good. And if it is through going on with your normal live just do it. Feel yourself huged if you want and if not...kick my butt outa the window :-)

I am so glad you girls had such a magical time! I just love reading your posts about it. I know yall will be on such a high for a long time. I wasn't able to make it to my Houston show with everything going on with my dad, but the Atlanta show is still a go as of now. well gals, I need your help... today during dinner, we were talking along lots of stuff about the family and such... and talking about the funeral... my dad suddenly asked(I was doing the dishes)'which u2 song do you think that will fit in the funeral?'... I think the first thing I said was jesus... I don't know if he said that seriously, but I was quiet all diner when they talked things over with my sister and such... well, and first thing that came into my mind was with or without you... but then.. I don't think it fits, that song, it feels like it has a different meaning... my granny loved blue, marine was her fave color.... the next thing in my mind was 'your blue room' form the passengers album... that song has a certain... relax thing on it... but then, One is also fitting, more for our family.... we aren't a close family, and my grandma was the last contact point.. now she's gone the whole family will collapse..... We're One, but we're not the same.... and now I really don't know... Do you have special songs to recommend me... also I won't be online tomorrow, have a schoolparty(I'm in organisation, security lights and sound and stuff) so I'll be at school from 8.30 am till midnight or even later... anyway.. Oct my aunt is a tour guide and she just got back from Costa Rica on a tour for 3 months, (as a tour guide, she hates Costa Rica just because the tours there are sooo long and its soo lonely for her, she says she just about cried every day but as a person, a traveler, a tourist, she loves it) and since she has 6000 or so flyer miles that she doesn't need (her touring company pays for the flying) she gave it to us so we could go down there, and then she decided, "Well what the heck I may as well go with them" sooo yeah that's why I suppose we're going down there. well soulie I made the stupid mistake(hey, I was just new into the u2 world) to check atu2 and read those reviews, and then listen to the album carefully.... so I didn't pay much attention to it.... but after a month or so I listened the whole album several times again... and again... and the song struck me badly... I think I fell in love with it ^^ but I have a theory why it's so bad on atu2... an australian guy I know trough msn who likes u2 but dislikes bono... well he's weird, he only likes their most experimental works like the 90s, Gone is his fave song... ahh as long as he's happy, I'm happy) but he dislikes the song too.... and on atu2 it was answer GUY who reviewed it... so maybe it's a typical girly song....

I'm excited to see 60 min. on sunday :) I haven't watched 60 min since high school!! I heard that Joaquin and Reese sing pretty darn good. I know what you mean though, I'm going to hold my breath for them. The only singer that I hated on the Johnny Cash tribute was Sheryl Crow. I don't like her to begin with,then she sings one of my favorite songs of Johnny Cash! She is drippy and horse faced. I quite enjoyed Mr. The Edge's voice in that as well. He sounded a lot like my husband when he sings. My daughter was laughing and saying "HE sounds just like dad" I think I have said that my hubby resembles The Edge. He told me that is why he is cool with my obsession with u2. He sees himself in the band. That sounds funny,but you know what I mean.

Ok I'm having all kinds of problems.....!I got the damn DVD recorder hooked up and I actually watched Matts Berlin U2 concert on it (woot woot) and I have the VCR part hooked up cause I was watching the Billy Idol Birthday party ....BUT now I've done something BAAAAAD....I think I blew out my cable...????I don't see how? I called them up because I lost it about an hour after I hooked all this sh-- up and I can't get it back? I thought it was to much of a coincidence and I was right because no-one else has lost there cable just meeeee??? I'm going to miss Bono tonight if I don't figure out wtf I did wrong? I unhooked it all and put my cable back the way it was but I'm still not getting it work??? I'm actually crying because I'm sick with a major cold and I have to put up with this?? Ingrid,even though Bono has an apartment in New York, doesn't mean he could host it,since it such an American dinner,there are traditions that they might not know, That is why I thought maybe they stayed in town to see the big Macy's parade and maybe get invited to some ones place? Oh well, I think maybe they left for Canada though since I read on another site how they cut one of the New York shows short to leave for the air port. Heh. *laughs* I printed out Slate's Faraway, So Close story and gave it to some friends to read. Oohhhhhhhhhhh boy. *laughs*Then during computers class today we went on that site and read some of the stories.Oohhhhhh boy. We found out that there are more than just Bono/Edge pairings. There's Bono/Larry pairings.That's when it started to get fun. *grins like an evil possessed devil tween*Bwahaha. We went into the library during lunch, frantically signed ourselves into the computer, and pretended to be checking our epals (a monitored school email system). As soon as the librarian turned her back, we went to the site and nearly started screaming when we couldn't find the right story, and when we did, frantically copied and pasted all 21 pages of it into a Word document, made the text smaller and the total page count 16, then printed it.I was a nervous wreck the whole time. We decided the story was rated R instead of PG-13, and passed it around to some close friends throughout the afternoon. Bwa.Hah.Hah.Slash is very fun. On a less mischievous note, WE GOT SNOW!!! Ever since I moved here in 2000, its snowed every other year. This year was scheduled to be a snow year. Lo and behold! The tempurature dropped to freezing just days after Thanksgiving (it wasn't even December yet) and we got a ton of frost. The next day, snow didn't come. yesterday was PHENOMENAL though. It was about 45 degrees F in the morning, so I didn't bring a jacket. At about 10 am it started to snow. There were only a few scattered tiny snowflakes, and when two of them stuck to the ground, we knelt down and screamed "IT'S STICKING!! IT'S STICKING!!" and then a friend pulled out some Icebreaker mints. She said "Anyone want some Ice?" she was mobbed by a huge crowd of ice-eager snowfiends screaming "ICE!! ICE!! THERE'S ICE!!!!" During break we ran through the halls screaming "SNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWW!!!! ITS SNOWING!! SNOWING!! SNOOOOOOOOOOWWWWW!!" Next period the snow thickened and came faster, and about fifteen minutes into the next period the snowflakes had grown to probably about 3 inches in diameter. It was "dumping on us". At lunch, nearly the whole cafeteria was outside, many without jackets (including me) or gloves or any thing of the sort. Everyone was screaming. Everyone was saying "It's cold." but they all dutifully failed to go inside. Eventually me and my friends came up with an idea. We called it the Hug Group. We would surround someone and say, "1, 2, 3, HUUUUUGGG!" and hug the person in the middle and our hug neighbors as hard as we could, screaming the whole time. It was a load of fun. My arms and hands turned red, along with my nose, my hair darkened as a result of the melted snow that had landed on me, and I couldn't feel my hands. But I still refused to go inside, take someone's jacket or do anything to become warm. Today there was about an inch of snow. The entire school field was completely white, and all the trees were naturally flocked. It was incredible.I love snow. When I was getting on the bus to go home today with my iPod in, I noticed the unusual warmness of the bus. I commented to the person next to me, "It's cold outside but really hot in here." There were people outside shouting and screaming "Hooome! We finally get to go hoooooome!" and I was struck by the strange similarity this situation had to the lyrics of 11 O'Clock Tick Tock:It's cold outside, it gets so hot in hereAnd the boys and girls collide, with the music in my earHere the children crying, they know its time to goI hear the children crying, "Take me home"Weird huh?

Bonjour tout le monde...They stopped making the U2 Ipod because they make new and improved version every years. I know that you don't get to see the cool member signature on the back but the new version is so much better. More memory, better battery life and you can play video on it. (not to mention that Bono is still on the box) You can now see your prefered U2 clip or Live concert on it witch is way better than what you could have watch with the older version (nothing)Anyway, I bought one couple month ago and I love it. Thank you all for your good BIENVENUE...It's realy appreciated.

PL I know that the new one has the video and everything,BUT the thing I don't like is how easily scratched it gets becuase of the way it is made,and I don't want you to make you feel bad Ingrid,but the old limitted edition one is lovely and everytime I see their little names etched on the back it makes me happy. You are probably right about the cool engraved signature on the back of the Ipod and I would have like mine with this also...About the scratch thing...Well you may be right also but this is electronic and it should be handled correctly...They are selling very cute "socs" (don't know how to write this) and if you take care of your thing like I do, scratch are not going to be a problem...Now I want to say that I like better watching the fantastic ZOO TV tour on a TV than on this little thing...But I can pluged the thing everywhere I go. Anyway...Sorry Ingrid, I didn't know you were from Netherlands...(I'm not sorry because you live there, it must be incredible...I'm sorry because you don't have Best Buy and they still have this model...) I would not suggest that you buy one on e-bay...Warranty is important with these kind of gadget...

Merry Christmas to all from me. I'm feeling a bit blue as U2 will be gone as of today back to Europe. Hello,Hope everyone had a nice Christmas or other celebration. Ours was quite peaceful and nice. My daughter and I made gingerbread men and we decorated four to look like U2! Very funny!! Gigabyte..... on YSI you can upload up to one gigabyte... so I don't understand ho0w the vid can be too big to upload:S a vid is usually less than 20 MB, depends on how long it is and the quality... thiss ong is very short, and old, so it can't be that big...
