There still seems to be a mix up with who started the pie thing. It was me since I am an expert pie maker :).They don't make pies in Europe. Not that I saw anyway, only tarts. I was the one who said Larry needed to eat some pie to put on some weight. Just thought I'd clarify. I love to make blueberry,and strawberry Ruhbarb. Apple is great in the fall....Ok now i'm hungry and I think I may go make one.

Ok Ingrid how is the pie constructed, because every where I went in Europe,and I think you said you were from the Netherlands? I never saw the type of PIE I was talking about. Double crusted. I saw some pies in Europe that didn't have tops. I'm talking about the good old American Apple Pie!! France didn't have them, Italy didn't have them,maybe England since they love to make meat pies,but I don't think I remember any in the Netherlands either.

Do you guys get what I'm saying by American pies vs. pies in Europe? I truly didn't see any of the kind that I speek of when I was there. I did see a recipe for one in a British magazine though, and being that our roots are from Enland, I'm sure that it probably started there. But being the big gigantic Americans that we are, they are huge and double crusted.Fanny, No se,a donde esta Soulcat :(
