Hey,Somebody was talking in these sites about some Bono-book, I can't remember who... Could you tell me the name of that book and possibly the author, please? It's just that the book sounded worth reading, and I could order it, if I don't find it from shops....
From: Ingrid on 2005-09-13 17:17:52
there are two books, the first one, I have read it and it's brilliant: Bono: In conversation, written by Michka Assayas.. and the 2nd one Killing bono(In EU I was Bono's doppelganger) by Neil mcCormick
From: Susanne on 2005-09-13 17:36:28
Ok, thanks. Hmmm... I saw a book called "Bono, in the name of love" (by Mick Wall) and I was wondering, what it was all about..? It has been published in 2005.
From: Ingrid on 2005-09-13 18:28:57
hm, never heard of it.. also I heard of a book writen by the man himself, about grace and karma or so...
From: Susanne: "Thank you Ingrid" on 2005-09-14 17:57:56
Thank you Ingrid for the names of the Bono-books, I bought them both (Killing Bono, Conversations...) since they weren't expensive. And now I can't wait to start reading them...Still wondering what's that Wall"s book (Bono, in the name of love), it was quite expensive... Has anybody read that book????????
From: Ingrid questions mariette on 2005-09-14 18:02:57
yeah I'm about to mail the local bookstore, I"m going to buy killing bono I think^^ Mariette, is it that or bono's doppelganger here?
From: mariëtte on 2005-09-14 21:09:44
Well I have the english version and that's just 'Killing Bono' I don't know if the dutch version is differnet, but I thought you wanted to have the English version too, so..
From: Ingrid on 2005-09-14 21:26:29
well, oct said it was Killing bono in US, and I was bono's doppelganger in Uk.. so now I'm confused, but I'll try killing bono ^^ lol okay that sounded WRONG
From: Octu2 on 2005-09-15 01:13:06
That is what it said in the front of the book, that it was called Killing Bono Becuase it would sell in the US better. I guess they think we are to dumb to know what Doppelganger is? Anyway that is what it says in the book. In the UK it goes by the Doppelganger name. Myabe you can find it with both.
From: Susanne on 2005-09-15 06:53:45
Here in Finland the book's title was "Killing Bono, I was Bono's doppelganger". So there was no confusion....
From: Octu2 on 2005-09-15 17:50:04
That's funny!! Just Killing Bono over here!
From: sushi on 2005-09-16 01:18:04
Oct are you sure it was just Killing Bono in the US? I looked it up and I thought it said it was Killing Bono: I Was Bono's Doppleganger.... weird.Ingrid that pic you mentioned earlier, I have seen it, of course since I commented on it, but I haven't looked at it since then.. it didn't show up, but the picture was Bono dancing with this young girl and he was grinning literally from ear to ear, it was hilarious.. =)
From: Ingrid on 2005-09-16 17:13:36
well oct, I ordered it online at our bookstore, and the man said I was bono's doppelganger was the undertitle... the book itself is called Killing Bono: I was bono's doppelganger... so that'll clarify the confusion...
From: Octu2 on 2005-09-16 18:58:07
Yes Sushi, it was just Killing Bono....I'm looking at the book right now and that is what it says. That is interesting Ingrid that it has both, since it did say something else in the forward in my book. There are many different ways they print books for different countries,so I'm sure there are different versions of it.
From: Ingrid on 2005-09-16 20:06:49
well in two weeks we'll know, cuz then it'll be here.. anywayz it's 15.95 euros here...
From: Susanne on 2005-09-16 20:34:58
Mine cost 14,95 (euros). It was the version published by "MTV books".
From: Octu2/Soulcat come back!!! on 2005-09-17 19:13:29
Hey mine says VH1 on it not MTV. this get more complicated as we go.
From: Susanne on 2005-09-17 20:45:16
Well, when I was looking after that book from the net sites of the local book store, I got as a search result five "Killing Bono" - books, which all had different publisher. So I asked from the book store about this, and they said, it's quite common in books like these. And there shouldn't be any differencies, when it comes to the contents of the book. So, the same book, many different publishers... Uh oh... I just bought the cheapiest one I could get.By the way, this is a nice photo of the Edge... I didn't really look the picture before I started adding comments on it... Nice one.
From: Ingrid on 2005-09-18 16:58:06
oct I can explain that one!You have VH1 in america.. and MTV is our VH1.. I know you also have mtv, and its incorporated by vh1 right? well, it's only mtv here.. so that might explain the diff
From: Octu2 on 2005-09-19 01:57:23
Probably. It is just a very fun book, so if anyone out there hasn't read it, READ IT!!!
