From: Slateblue on 2005-07-18 08:52:25
I want his hat.
From: Ingrid on 2005-07-18 16:41:52
I wanted to go to amsterdam, but my parents didnt want me to go there by myself... :( and that hat is really nice^^
From: Slateblue on 2005-07-18 16:47:19
Doesn't Edge have a hat like that? I bet Bono stole it from him.
From: JJ on 2005-07-18 20:54:43
This man is my hero and he gives me hope for the future. Thanks for the beautiful reminder of a special moment.
From: boomcha on 2005-07-18 21:14:54
Aww Slate you ARE SO RIGHT! I saw them last year or so at the Monaco F1 Grand Prix and B wore a that like that and I thought...This is The Edges hat....he stole it ggrrrrr
From: boomcha on 2005-07-18 21:15:46
But on the other hand...this is a really nice picture :-) Congrats Cara!

*looks to the pic again and wows*have you seen this one?while drawing him, his ears are so awesome to draw!, I found this out...Look at his ear, the shadow above his earring..... it looks like a heart!!!btw.. here's myu version.. too bad his nose didnt fit:( I would like you guys/gals to discuss it... some negative stuff is okay.. but don't say random things like it sucks.. tell me what sucks and how I can change it!http://img392.imageshack.us/img392/1496/bonodrawingamsterdam2ap.jpg
From: sushi on 2005-08-27 23:43:36
Wow, Ingrid that's really cool... I really like all the shading. Is it watercolored? Or do you just have incredible talent to make it look watercolored with pencil? Wow his hair is short in this pic, huh? I never noticed how short it was till I looked at your drawing!! =DHe looks kinda mad.. and the big wobbly line from the corner of his mouth looks kinda weird. Otherwise I really like it! ^^ Great job!
From: Ingrid on 2005-08-28 16:40:47
yeah I noticed that one too.. I accidentally took my fountain pen instead of a pencil.....about his hair length.. I think he has it under his hat or so... cuz at other pics it's normal lenght again....it's not watercoloured.. my secret is shading it with pencil, and spreading it with your fingertips(a little sweat/water works very well) so that's where the look comes from......the black lines are fountain pen
From: sushi on 2005-08-29 03:30:05
Wow, cool technique, I gotta try it sometime... *runs to get a pencil and paper* Ok look, I'll do a self portrait. *draws a little stick figure with googly eyes and wild hair doing peace signs with big feet, who's shouting "RAWR RAWR RAWR DIE ALL YOU PEOPLE HAHAHAHAAA!!"* Ok now the portrait's done now for the shading.. *shades a little bit of the hair licks thumb and wipes it all over the page* Whoops that didn't work did it? Hehe... better try again... =)

I was too late this day... when we arrived at the hotel they were already gone to whereever... :(((
From: Slateblue on 2005-08-29 16:32:04
Hey Tanja, how are you? Have you overcome your post-show-depression? I'm still sad... and I'm soooo absolutely unmotivated. I have so much work to do and it really annoys me. *sigh* Ok, enough complaining, I've had a great summer and all good things must come to an end... sadly!!!
From: Slateblue on 2005-08-29 16:34:14
... one more thing: I haven't given up hope for some more European shows next year. I don't think it's very likely, though, and I'll only believe it when they really confirm it. But I can still dream... oh, it would be beautiful... and I would go to Italy again... :-)
From: Ingrid to Sushi on 2005-08-29 22:27:42
hm, I got bored, and thought, hey why not help the little girl... I hope you like it, I had no idea how you would look like so I just let my wickef mind go a lil.....oh btw the drool is because of this bono picture.... try to draw his ears! that was the best thing I've ever drawn... and notice the LOVE in his ear.. the shadow up his earrring.. it's a heart!
From: Ingrid to Sushi on 2005-08-29 22:28:50

From: Tanja on 2005-08-30 10:40:14
slatehun, good to hear from you :) I still have my post-show-depression (wow, that sounds like an official thing ;))... and I feel like you, I am not in the mood to do anything that hasnt to do with the band... and psssttt I havent given up as well hoping for shows to come next year here in europe... die hoffnung stirbt zuletzt... they WILL come back, believe me, we have to BELIEVE!!! I know it could be the same mess than 2002, but I cant do anything to stop my hope... and I dont want to.
From: Slateblue on 2005-08-30 11:13:39
Oh, you put it very well: not in the mood to do anything that hasn't to do with the band. So true! And it's always like that! Getting used to daily life again is terrible without any more concerts to look forward to. *sigh* And Matt is depressed, too... Yes, die Hoffnung stirbt zuletzt! Though I'm a bit afraid to hope because I don't want to be disappointed... But you're right, we have to believe!
From: Tanja on 2005-08-30 12:42:58
I am happy to hear from you that you believe as well... have some words like "farewell tour" in my mind... ;)) uuups... that would be the worst thing I can imagine. but you know what, since you wrote that, suddenly a lot of small things appeared in my mind that would support your speculation... but I ignore these thoughts... hoping and believing is much better... and more motivating.. :)
From: Slateblue on 2005-08-30 15:35:10
Well, it's a bit of a fight between heart, belly and head, I have to say... The heart says I never want them to stop and look how they still enjoy playing live, the belly notices small things that look like farewell, and the head says be reasonable, be happy with what you've got and get some bloody work done! ;-)
From: Ingri on 2005-08-30 18:00:31
what is it with you germans and depression? Look at this picture! Look at the pretty face, smirking a little! HOW CAN YOU STILL BE DEPRESSED?Im melting out here... could be of the hawt pictures I found(Screenshots R&H bad, on bonoonline.com) or because of the late heat wave... I think it's the first one ^^btw sushi... maybe I saw you, maybe not... didnt you notice that your garbage can is allways checked?? Woooopz I aint a stalker! that wasnt me!
From: Octu2 on 2005-08-30 18:44:39
I don't get Slates comment also. I try and not think about it too much. If they do something great, but if they don't it is probably for personal reasons. Every interview I have seen that they have done here in the U.S ,though indicates that they are still going strong and have come into their own. They seem real genuine when they say it also, so I don't get the people that think this is a sort of farewell tour. I think they have at least two or so albums to come out with. In one interview I saw them in, they said that if they do two crap albums in a row, they are done. So far so good!!!
From: Ingrid on 2005-08-30 19:16:09
yeah but they WONT ever make even ONE crap album! and I loved the chapter of the book 'I will never fit tutanchamons coiffin'... and bono's the same about his death and the band quitting, not tomorrow, not the day after tomorrow... somewhere in future,... the thing he said about going onstage age 60 was something like feeling old with all the wrinkles and such, looking behind you, seeing larry mulllen still looking age 14!
From: sushi on 2005-08-30 21:27:29
Hahah Ingrid I think you are a stalker... grr... 24/7 security for me!! =P Slate, Matt and Tanja (or anyone else who's depressed) I'm sorry about your depression... I hope you feel better...For me personally after the concert I couldn't have been more elated to know that I actually went to one, it was great fun remembering what happened... I still get the ecstasy shivers whenever I think about the concert. So I hope you guys feel better!! *hugs*
From: Octu2 on 2005-08-31 02:13:38
I like that comment Bono made about Larry also. That book has so many neat things that he says.
From: Slateblue on 2005-08-31 09:06:25
Thanks sushi! *hugsback*
From: Tanja on 2005-08-31 09:27:51
well, depression really seems to be a german thing :)) its just that I LOVE them so much, that I LOVE the shows and the athmosphere so much, that I cant imagine how to live without it... but you are right, we have to stop that and start beeing happy with what we have already got... slate and matt, what about joing a psychiater together?? maybe we can look for a U2-fan, that would make things easier... :))
From: Tanja on 2005-08-31 09:29:36
joining, of course... and is psychiater an english word.. dont think so... anyway, I think you know what I mean ;) and shushi, thanks hun and hugs back to you! ;)
From: Octu2 / Where are you Soulcat ,We miss you!! on 2005-08-31 18:39:23
We get them back,BUT we don't have Matt over here taking his glorious pictures. The one show I went to, there were no pics at all. Since I will be sitting so high up in the arena, I don't think I can get any good ones either :( Soulcat has good seats, maybe we can get her to take some photos. Were the heck is she anyway?
From: mariëtte on 2005-08-31 19:04:02
I go really to a 'spychiater' And I'm a U2 fan! .....but it's not fun to go to a psyciahet, I don't know if you réally got a depression, or only because of shows you miss. Coul be of course! But I've got a depression and (i tell you everything you don't know so) it's so hard, you I went to a concert this year of U2, and now i think that was really important to me, i don't have to see or do more, i wanne die..i mean it, but I'm not thinking of suicide........hmmm this is a U2 site, get back to the point.....I love this picture ;) :P :)
From: mariëtte on 2005-08-31 19:05:56
Oh, my what's my english good, haha, i meant: you don't know me so i can tell everything and i meant: I went to a concert.ok
From: Ingrid on 2005-08-31 20:43:10
oct wich comment bono made bout larry?O...M...F...Gokay, let me get this straight, you gals are DEPRESSED because you love the U2 shows, and you can't live without them... I've never been to a single show! how sad should I be now?*depression rises*
From: Slateblue on 2005-08-31 21:44:02
Tanja, in case you'd also take a psychologist, I'd be happy to offer you my couch. ;-)And for me, it's not really depression in a clinical sense, it's more like melancholy... I don't know if you understand this, but it is a state of mind that is kind of sad, but in a strange way, you can also enjoy it. It's nostalgia - you're sad it's over, but you're so very happy and thankful for the experience that the sadness is kind of sweet. It's like you want to laugh and cry at the same time. *sigh* Only U2 makes me feel like that...
From: Octu2 / Where are you Soulcat ,We miss you!! on 2005-09-01 02:22:12
It is the one you wrote above. about bono being 60 and feeling old,and then looking behind him and seeing Larry still looking like 14. I get what you mean Slate, that is how I felt when they did their final show here in the States and then left for Europe. I think I wasn't too sad when they left our area, since our tv people seem to follow them around and they are always on TV while they are here. Example is the Satuday Night Live show this weekend. It is a repeat of when they were here on the first leg.
From: Tanja on 2005-09-01 10:17:40
slate my dear, I definately agree... no depression in a clinical sense, more melancholy... that´s it!!!
From: fanny on 2005-09-01 15:06:35
I agree...it's U2 that can make us feel like that..
From: Ingrid // Soulie if you are alive SPEAK on 2005-09-01 20:33:29
lol sorry oct.. I'm being blind!and still soulie has to come! I want her to judge my drawing!
From: Bumpity for susanne on 2005-11-07 19:16:37
okay it's not exactly chicago.. I was lookin at the wrong pic.. but here are some of my bizarre drawings... my *uche* brilliant *uche* sushi drawing is also there.. o wiat there's just one drawing here... hmm ah whatever dunno where the rest is
From: Susanne on 2005-11-07 19:25:23
Well you really can draw, that's for sure. How long did it took to make that Bono-pic??? And hehee, I love your pic of Sushi, it's very funny. Do you draw comics and staff, or just whatever you feel like, eh, drawning?I'm not very good at drawning, painting or anything creative, the only thing I'm good at is reading and that's why I'm probably studying history...
From: Ingrid on 2005-11-07 20:37:11
hmmm I dunno, did it during holidays... about few hours.. I did most of it in one day, well I usually woke up around 12/1 and till five... eating and stuff.. so I think in total for the drawing itself something in 3 or 4 hours.. and the shading and such took me, hm not so much.. maybe half an hour or one hour or so... but I usually draw when I feel like it.. I used to draw alot before and in the holidays, drew some u2 stuff... edge and bono.. but after holidays, I dunno, I lost 'it'... totally didn't feel like drawing anymore.. I still have the head of JT bono without eyes nos and mouth and any detail here... never coninued that one since september..
From: Ingrid for susanne on 2005-11-07 20:48:38
well I don't have a scanner so these pics I made back then with my webcam(wich is, uh dunno what's with it but not doing it atm, prolly have to reinstall the program again)http://img243.imageshack.us/img243/8008/bonobookdrawing0zj.jpgI didn't know this would be the cover of the Conversations book when I drew this one... got it fromm a black n white pic.. well it was kinda green.. but that should be my crappy printer... one of my first bono's.. not gonna show the first one cuz I badly screwed that one up.. the nose y'know... http://img243.imageshack.us/img243/6875/bonotheflydrawing8eu.jpgdidn't mean to make this the fly... but it turned out more to look like that than regular bono... his scruffy looks pretty screwed here.. and his face weird... hm.. and he's a bit pale.. and his neck too small... I know.. .was just starting... http://img243.imageshack.us/img243/1140/drawingedge2hu.jpgEdge... ok he looks weird.. especially the beanie, but that's the shade of the lights here.. if you look close enought you can see the lines... and his beard is black.. terribly black.. and his mouth is weird... edge is really frustrating to draw! but not as frustrating as larry's lips! I really tore that piece of paper apart, couldn't take it anymore... ohhhh I hated larry SO much, and I never drew him again... I really want to make adam, but I don't know wich picture..
From: Susanne on 2005-11-07 22:32:20
Okej girl, don't quit your drawing business, ok? I like your pics! Hmmm, too bad you got fed up drawing Larry... (I bet Fanny's heart just broke when she saw words "fed up with Larry")... Adam... We definitely need to find a good pic of Adam to you so you can draw him someday... Smiling Adam, please... And maybe few of his little buttons could be open, you know, let's put some chest in to that... Aaarrggh, too bad I can't draw things, I'm beginning to see a veeery nice pic of him already in my mind... Huh, bedtime to me, perhaps?
From: Ingrid on 2005-11-08 14:50:29
K susanne, here's the deal, you give me nice adam pic, I draw.... it really has to be a clear one, preferred in a decent size as in big, but not enormous... and uhh I think I'm better in 3/4 perspective.. if you know what I mean... as in the first bono one, that stuff.. I have no idea how adam is to draw, but I'll find that out then^^
From: Susanne on 2005-11-08 21:22:59
Ok Ingrid, thanks, I'll try to find a pic of Adam for you to draw, it will probably take a little time but I'll tell ya when I find it... And then you can see whether you're able to draw it... :)
