I always thought that Portuguese sounded like Spanish and French mixed and there I see the sedilla on the c. My sister in law is Portuguese and when I heard her speak, I use to tell her that. Of course they don't think it does!!!

The Portuguese is more complicated than English: many rules and exceptions, and some other latin characters (ç, ss, ch, lh, nh, sh, ã, á, à...). If it´s difficult for us, I can imagine how hard is for you.

I once read that the two most difficult languages in the western world are English and French. I don't remember Portuguese on there??? When I read some of the comment here in Portuguese I can make out what it says because it is very simillar to Spanish, although to speak spanish and write it is much more simple than Portuguese.

As Rodrigo said, Portuguese is much more complicated than English and just a little more difficult than Spanish (Both have too many exceptions). For people who don`t speak portuguese, it`s quite similar to Spanish with a little bit of Italian too...

Maybe it is really a combo or all three? Spanish Italian and French. There isn't a cedilla in Italian. So there is the French part. Since I can speak both Spanish and French I really hear those the most, but I see your point with the Italian also. Interesting language Portuguese is!!!

Portuguese remember Brazil, that remember that after the second São Paulo show, the guys went to Bahia (a brazilian state) to enjoy the carnival, where they stay until Saturday, when they fly to Santiago (Chile), to play Sunday.
