Tonight U2 were in Miami for their first of two concerts in the state of Florida. This is their 39th performance in the state, but it has been a while since they last performed outside of Miami and Tampa: the last time was when they opened the Elevation Tour with two concerts in Sunrise. Looking outside the Miami metropolitan area you have to go even further back to a PopMart performance in Jacksonville. This is the fourth time U2 have performed in the Hard Rock Stadium; but on each of the three previous occasions it had a different name! (And, had the 360 show taken place on the original 2010 date, the stadium had yet another different name.) It will be interesting to see if that trend holds true the next time they visit the city...

Bad returned to the set after missing the Bonnaroo festival date. The Edge had significant guitar problems during Pride, having to leave the stage to try and resolve them while the rest of the band filled in the extended gap before the final verse.

Miss Sarajevo opened the encore, also back in the setlist after failing to appear at Bonnaroo. Vertigo, which debuted at that festival, remained in the setlist and closed the show, the first time it has closed a gig since 4 December 2006. Right at the end of Vertigo, Bono shouted "Miami, my mammy", the first reference on this tour to a song off Pop, an album whose 20th anniversary has gone without mention yet from the band.

I Will Follow and The Little Things That Give You Away, this tour's previous closers, remain absent. The last three shows have all had different closers: Little Things in Pittsburgh, One at Bonnaroo, and today Vertigo. Four out of the last five have been different: Chicago 1 had the most recent performance of I Will Follow, with Little Things done at Chicago 2.
