U2 rehearse in London
Today U2 rehearsed a short setlist at Twickenham Stadium ahead of tomorrow's first show of the European leg of the Joshua Tree Tour. They performed in front of a small invited audience of members of London's Metropolitan Fire Brigade and a handful of lucky friends and fans, totalling 48 in all.
The setlist began with unreleased song Little Things. The last time an unreleased song opened a show was actually quite recently, when The Return of the Stingray Guitar opened a number of 360 Tour shows in 2010 and one more in 2011. The band then ran through a handful of other tracks, all of which have been played on the tour to date.
At least one printed setlist, however, indicated a song that has not been played: a cover of Oasis's Don't Look Back in Anger, which was to be rehearsed with the PA turned off with Noel Gallagher, who is the support act at all European shows.
The full rehearsal setlist was:
- The Little Things That Give You Away
- Where the Streets Have No Name / California (There Is No End To Love) (snippet)
- I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
- Red Hill Mining Town
- Miss Sarajevo
- Beautiful Day / Starman (snippet)
- Mysterious Ways
- Vertigo
