U2 lock in a fourth Sao Paulo gig for the Joshua Tree Tour
U2.com had previously announced the Joshua Tree Tour 2017 schedule was complete, but surprise! One more show has been confirmed.
Sao Paulo was already the only city this tour to have three shows. It now gets a fourth, which will take place at Morumbi on 25 October 2017. Our database entry for this show is here.
Tickets will go on sale via ticketsforfun.com.br from 12:01am on 27 July, with a limited number also available from box offices from 10am on the same date.
U2 have never before played four shows on a single tour in any South American city. Nor have they played four shows in any South American country on the same tour. Previously they had maxed out at three in both Argentina and Brazil on the Popmart and 360 Tours, and on Popmart those three Brazilian shows were split across Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo.
This is, in fact, the first time on a single tour that U2 have played four stadium concerts in any city in the Americas, North or South. The only other city in which U2 have ever played four stadium shows on the same tour is London on the 1993 European leg of ZooTV. Quite a testament indeed to the passion and enthusiasm of Brazil's U2 fans!
