Today, U2 have debuted a new song to the world, the lead single from forthcoming album Songs of Experience.

The single, You're the Best Thing About Me, follows The Blackout, a treat shared with fans last week on Facebook. You're the Best Thing About Me is available on streaming services including Spotify, Apple Music, and Tidal, and there is a lyric video on YouTube:

This song is produced by Ryan Tedder, Steve Lillywhite, and Jacknife Lee. Its cover art is a photograph of Edge's daughter Sian, taken by long-time U2 collaborator Anton Corbijn.

U2.com have confirmed that this song is the lead single for Songs of Experience, the companion album to 2014's Songs of Innocence. They state that details about the album's release date and preorders are coming soon, and that it will be available on CD, vinyl, and download.

They also indicate that You're the Best Thing About Me will form part of U2's performance on The Tonight Show on Thursday. As we noted in our report on yesterday's Buffalo show, U2 will be playing two songs on The Tonight Show.
