U2 add two more shows to their US itinerary
Well, this might be a surprise to a lot of you. Not only have U2 added two extra concerts to the North American leg of the Experience + Innocence Tour, but if we'd asked you to guess last week, we doubt you'd have picked these cities.
First, the band have added a show in Omaha, Nebraska on 19 May, between their Los Angeles and Chicago dates. The only previous time U2 have performed a full tour gig in Omaha, or anywhere in Nebraska, was on 15 December 2005.
Second, they have added a show to the very end of the leg in Uncasville, Connecticut on 3 July. Uncasville? If you're not from New England you might need to look up where that is. It's near the coast, between Hartford, Connecticut and Providence, Rhode Island, and other famous artists such as Bruce Springsteen and Prince have performed at the arena. It's U2's first show in Connecticut since performing in Hartford on 7 December 2005, and the first time they've played somewhere in Connecticut other than Hartford or New Haven.
Fanclub presales begin tomorrow, Tuesday 6 March, at 10am eastern/9am central time for Experience members and at 11am eastern/10am central for Innocence members. If you have not yet used your presale code, you will receive information by email.
General public sale is Friday 9 March for Uncasville and Monday 12 March for Omaha, both at 10am local time.
Interestingly, the U2.com announcement does not say that these are the final dates for the tour, so there is hope yet for those people who hope there is truth in rumours of a second Atlanta show, or a visit to Toronto. U2.com usually state when additional shows are the last that will be added to the itinerary. The Mohegan Sun's Facebook says that the concert there is the last stop of U2's US tour, which does not rule out extra gigs beforehand, or Canadian shows afterwards.
