A Third Show For Sydney
(U2.com) -- U2 will play a third show at the Telstra Stadium in Sydney on Monday November 13th.
U2 broke box office records when tickets went on sale for two Sydney shows in December 2005, the 150,000 tickets available sold out in less than one hour. The announcement of a third show should come as good news to those who missed out last time.
Manager Paul McGuinness said today, "We hope some of those fans that missed out last time will have the opportunity to get tickets for this third show. The band is ready to get back on the road and is looking forward to playing some fantastic live shows".
Vertigo//2005 opened in San Diego on 28th March 2005 and has so far played to more than 3 ½ million people world wide. Vertigo//2005//2006 has already travelled through North and South America and Europe and will visit Australia, New Zealand and Japan before finishing up in Honolulu in December.
The Sydney shows will be Special Guest Kanye West's biggest Australian audiences to date. With multi platinum selling, Grammy award winning artist Kayne West warming up the stage - this will be a night to remember for all Australian fans.
The new concert date is:
MONDAY NOVEMBER 13 - TELSTRA STADIUMTICKETS FOR THE 3RD SHOW ON SALE FRIDAY AUGUST 11 AT 9.00AM!
Tickets will be available through Ticketek outlets or by phone on 132 849 or on line at: www.ticketek.com.au. There will be a 4 ticket limit per person.
As previously announced, rescheduled Sydney show information is as follows:
FRIDAY MARCH 31 becomes FRIDAY NOVEMBER 10 TELSTRA STADIUM
SATURDAY APRIL 1 becomes SATURDAY NOVEMBER 11 TELSTRA STADIUM
All tickets for the original performance are valid only for the new performance date indicated above, but without need for exchange.
Note from U2gigs.com: In addition to the above confirmation of a third Sydney show, there are rumours that Melbourne will have a third show at the Telstra Dome on 21 November 2006. This rumour has even been broadcast on Australian television network Channel 7. This concert may even be a charity concert, which could imply more artists than just U2 and Kanye West will be involved. However, we emphasise that this is RUMOUR, it is completely UNCONFIRMED, and a third Melbourne show MIGHT NOT HAPPEN.
