U2 plan 3D concert film for 2007
(RTE.ie) -- U2 are to star in a 3D concert film, which is due to be released next year.
The Irish band are currently on the road with their Vertigo tour and over 700 hours of footage for the feature-length film were shot during their shows in South America in February and March.
The film will be directed by Mark Pellington ('Arlington Road', 'The Mothman Prophecies'), who started his career by shooting U2's 'One' video, and Catherine Owens, who has worked as the creative director of screen visuals on several U2 world tours.
A representative for the band called it "the first-ever 3D multicamera live shoot".
