U2 Gig Tickets Withdrawn
(Gigwise.com) -- U2 have taken action against an online ticket shop that has been selling tickets for a tour that the band have not officially announced yet.
Fans of the band have been able to buy tickets for shows in Dublin (Croke Park, June 26-27), London (Twickenham Park, July 2) and Paris' Stade De France (early July, 2005) costing from £125 to £295, but the band say that the gigs are not confirmed, and the tickets have now been taken down.
The site received a letter from the band's management this week telling them to remove the tickets.
U2's live booker John Giddings explained: "There have been no decisions taken. There are no venues confirmed, there are no ticket prices confirmed," reports NME.
He went on to explain that "every venue in the world" was seen as a prospective venue for the upcoming tour, and that he would be "very surprised" if ticket prices would be as high as they were advertised on the site.
