Rehearsals in Barcelona, 17/06
So much for yesterday's soundchecking. Today, the band did a proper rehearsal on the stage at Camp Nou, and brace yourself for a bunch of surprises. Below is an annotated setlist, the order of which cannot be guaranteed 100%.
The first two songs were reportedly a warm-up:
· The Unforgettable Fire - last performed on the Lovetown Tour, 6 January 1990.
· City Of Blinding Lights
· Intro
· Magnificent
· Get On Your Boots
· Elevation
· Beautiful Day
· I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
· Drowning Man - this song has never been performed live before; it had previously only appeared as a brief snippet in 11 O'clock Tick Tock on the War Tour.
· Breathe
· In A Little While - since the end of the Elevation Tour, this song has made only two live appearances, both on the Vertigo Tour's third leg.
· Angel Of Harlem / Suspicious Minds (snippet)
· Unknown Caller - as yet unperformed live.
· The Unforgettable Fire
· City Of Blinding Lights
· Pride
· MLK - it's interesting to note one song about Martin Luther King Jr following the other. The two songs have rarely ever appeared together before. But will they stay together on tour, or is this just rehearsal coincidence? It is also worth noting that since the end of the Lovetown Tour in January 1990, MLK has struggled to hold a position in the setlist, often appearing as little more than a glorified One snippet.
· Where The Streets Have No Name - anybody shocked? No? Didn't think so.
· Ultra Violet - this song has not been performed since the end of Zoo TV's fourth leg on 28 August 1993. Also note that it is the only Achtung Baby song to be rehearsed today.
· With Or Without You
· Vertigo
· Crazy Tonight
· No Line On The Horizon
· Moment Of Surrender - as yet unperformed live.
