U2 concert in New York rescheduled
Important news has just been posted on U2.com: the concert in New York scheduled for 25 September 2009 has been rescheduled to 23 September 2009. This was to be the second show in New York, but will now be the first. The concert on 24 September 2009 is not affected and will proceed on the originally planned date.
The 25th of September show has been moved to the 23rd to accommodate the rescheduling of a New York Jets game. The New York Jets game on the 27th of September has been rescheduled to take place earlier in the afternoon to avoid clashing with the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur. Due to this, U2 no longer had enough time to load out their set under the original itinerary. The show's date has accordingly been changed so that Giants Stadium will be free in time for the Jets' game to commence.
Tickets for the 25th will be honoured on the 23rd. Refunds for those ticketholders unable to attend on the new date will be available between 28 August and 22 September at the point of purchase.
