U2's Munich setlist, 15/09
Today, U2 performed in Munich. This was the third and final German concert of the current European leg. The other two German concerts were performed in Frankfurt and Hannover, both cities the band had visited on only one prior tour. By contrast, U2 have performed in Munich regularly over the years, stretching all the way back to the Boy Tour on 18 February 1981.
Earlier in the day, there was a soundcheck that included New Year's Day, the keys from Miss Sarajevo and Moment Of Surrender, and the intro of Mothers Of The Disappeared. The actual setlist was very similar to that played three days ago in Zurich - the two changes were the return of Ultra Violet and With Or Without You to the encore.
Consequently, Mothers Of The Disappeared remained in the setlist for its third performance of the tour. This is the first time it has been performed at consecutive concerts since it was done at all four Argentine and Chilean concerts on Popmart's fourth leg in February 1998. Unreleased songs North Star and Mercy also stayed in the set; this was only the second performance ever of Mercy, and the first time that North Star has been played at consecutive shows. The relatively unchanged set from Zurich 2 also means that I Will Follow has now been played at consecutive concerts for the first time on the 360° Tour - a surprising statistic, given its past record of being played at most concerts.
After the downpour in Zurich, the band almost got away with a dry show in Munich, only for light rain to fall near the end. Unsurprisingly, this prompted a couple of rain snippets from Bono. The full setlist was:
