U2 and Argentina: the rumours keep coming
Rumours continue to abound regarding U2 performing in Argentina next year, but still we don't know much for sure.
Yesterday, we reported a rumour that Estadio Ciudad de La Plata, outside Buenos Aires in the nearby city of La Plata, is being considered as a venue. However, that claim has been contradicted in this article. A representative of Time 4 Fun, the local concert promoters, is adamant that they are trying to get special permission to perform at River Plate Stadium, and if that cannot be achieved, then Estadio José Amalfitani in Buenos Aires will be considered - not the La Plata stadium.
However, the rumoured date of 31 March 2011 for the Argentinian gig remains on the table. It seems that it is the venue, not the date, that is in question right now. More broadly, rumours continue to suggest that any South American tour will also take in Brazil and Chile, and possibly Peru, and will likely be held during March and early April 2011. Let's hope these rumours are true, but until there is an official announcement, remember to take this as nothing more than speculation.
