Last month, we reported on rumours that U2 might tour South Africa next year. Although these rumours were initially downplayed by promoters, they have recently gained traction. Some speculation suggests that South African shows will be announced with, or soon after, South American shows (which are reputedly to be announced very soon).

The latest rumours have been posted in an article on Entertainment Africa. They report that U2 are "definitely performing" in South Africa in February 2011, but until it is confirmed by the usual official channels, take that with a grain of salt - many media outlets in the past have claimed that a concert is "definitely" happening, only for it to not happen at all. Specifically, Entertainment Africa reports that U2 will perform at FNB Stadium (well known as Soccer City) in Johannesburg on 13 February 2011, followed by a gig on 19 February 2011 at Cape Town Stadium, funnily enough in Cape Town.

Entertainment Africa goes on to state an official announcement confirming the shows could come within the next week, with tickets to go on sale shortly thereafter. Stay tuned!
