U2 to visit Baltimore in 2011
It was the worst-kept secret in U2-land, ever since U2.com leaked the date a month ago, and now it has been properly confirmed: U2 will perform in Baltimore on 22 June 2011 at M&T Bank Stadium. U2.com are yet to post an article, but the show was confirmed this morning on Baltimore radio by the Baltimore mayor, Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, and Roy Sommerhof, a Baltimore Ravens official.
Support will be provided by Florence And The Machine. Tickets will go on sale to the general public at 10am, Monday 8 November. It will be preceded by a U2.com fanclub presale, beginning on Wednesday 3 November.
This will be just the second concert U2 have ever performed in Baltimore, and the first in a stadium. The sole previous concert was an arena show back on the Elevation Tour, 19 October 2001. That show was notable for the sole electric performance of Please on the Elevation Tour.
