U2 to play a second show in Sao Paulo
Tickets went on sale today for U2's 9 April 2011 concert in Morumbi. The show sold out in a flurry of overloaded ticketing websites, congested phone lines, and lengthy queues at physical outlets. It looks like this quick sell-out was a record, beating even Paul McCartney's recent swift sales in Brazil.
Consequently, a second Sao Paulo show has been added for 10 April 2011. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, 15 December. As usual, U2.com members will be able to participate in a presale. It will begin at 10am local time on Friday, 10 December and run through to 8pm on Sunday, 12 December.
U2's other previously announced South American show, 30 March 2011 in La Plata, Argentina, also went on sale today and is selling very fast. The odds of a second show there look good. We reported earlier that a listing had appeared on U2.com for a show in Santiago, Chile; this has now been removed, but it is surely just a matter of time before it is properly confirmed (remember the incident earlier this year regarding the Baltimore show?).
