Photos of U2's stage under construction in Brisbane
Later today (Australian time), U2 will take the stage for their first of 360° Tour shows in Brisbane. A Fairfax Media article has been published online with eight photos from inside Lang Park (Suncorp Stadium). You can view the photos here.
There are a few points of note in the article. Firstly, it says tickets are still available to both Brisbane shows. This is of little surprise; the second show has been widely rumoured to be a poor seller, with possibly less than 20,000 tickets sold (i.e. under half of capacity). So if you are in southeast Queensland, head on over to Lang Park!
Secondly, more poor weather is forecast to strike the tour. Stage manager George Reeves makes light of Bono's enjoyment of wet shows and his habit of snippeting Singing In The Rain on such occasions. Thirdly - and amusingly but grossly inaccurately - the article claims that the tour began on "in Toronto on June 30 2009". I'm sure fans in both Barcelona and Toronto will be very surprised to hear this!
