U2's Brisbane #2 setlist, 09/12
Today, U2 performed their second of two shows in Brisbane. This is the first time U2 have ever played two stadium shows in Brisbane on the one tour. It is also only the second time U2 have ever played multiple shows in any venue type in Brisbane on the one tour; the first time was when they played three arena shows at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in 1989 on the Lovetown Tour. This was hence an ambitious undertaking, and the crowd was not nearly as large as it was on the first night.
During the early afternoon, U2's crew soundchecked Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me and New Year's Day, and they also played over the PA the audio of Dirty Day from ZooTV Sydney. Contrary to some initial Internet hype, U2 did not rehearse Dirty Day. They did, however, do their own soundcheck later, playing HMTMKMKM, Mercy, and a song that has not yet beem performed on the 360° Tour, All I Want Is You.
Perhaps the biggest surprise in the setlist tonight is that Moment Of Surrender was not performed, evidently because Lang Park's strict curfew of 10:30pm struck. The band closed with With Or Without You, the first time a song other than Moment Of Surrender has closed a 360° Tour show, and they were off stage by 10:27. Thus only three songs from No Line On The Horizon were performed, a record low for the album on the current tour.
Other setlist changes included the re-appearance of unreleased song Mercy and fan favourite Bad in the middle of the set; this was just the fourth performance of Bad in 2010. New Year's Day and Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me were rotated back into the set; the former after missing one show and the latter after missing two. Surprisingly, Walk On did not feature its usual You'll Never Walk Alone snippet.
The full setlist was:
