U2 to perform on Jimmy Fallon's show - for a whole week
Everybody's been speculating about when U2 will bring the Songs of Innocence promo tour to North America. Well, wonder no more! We have our first US promo dates - yes, dates, plural.
U2 will perform on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon for the full week starting Monday, 17 November. Fallon announced the residency in his opening monologue today.
Neither residencies as a promo strategy nor performing on Fallon's show are new to U2. During the No Line on the Horizon promo tour, U2 performed every night for a week on David Letterman's show in early March 2009. Meanwhile, earlier this year, U2 gave the only live performances to date of "Invisible" for Fallon's debut episode, which also featured "Ordinary Love". Check out our report from that performance here. Clearly U2 enjoyed it enough to head back for a longer stay with Fallon!
We will keep you updated on further promo shows if and when they are announced. Our database entries for the Fallon residency are here: first night, second night, third night, fourth night, and final night.
