U2 perform ''Every Breaking Wave'' at the EMAs
Today, U2 appeared at the MTV European Music Awards in Glasgow. They did one song, "Every Breaking Wave". Like previous dates on this promo tour, it was performed as an acoustic version with Edge on piano. Adam and Larry joined in for the second half of the song, and the band were accompanied by a string section.
Videos of this performance have been taken down almost as soon as they are uploaded to YouTube and other sites. You can, however, watch an official video at this link.
If you are wondering why U2 are now pushing "Every Breaking Wave" instead of "The Miracle", that's because it is the second single off Songs of Innocence. It has reportedly been distributed to radio stations in North America, and now Universal Italy have confirmed on Facebook that "Every Breaking Wave" is the band's new single. Further reports indicate that the performance recorded for Australia's 60 Minutes, which you can watch below, has been distributed as a promo clip.
