Three shows in Dublin at Christmastime?
Before U2 began their rehearsals in Vancouver, the other big tour story was about U2's Dublin concert dates. U2.com confirmed last December that U2 would add Dublin dates for late 2015 to their European tour itinerary, but since then we've had nothing but scraps of - sometimes contradictory - rumours.
It now appears that we are close to an announcement. BreakingNews.ie has posted a teaser report and a short clip from an interview Bono recorded in January with the late Tony Fenton. The full interview will be broadcast on Monday at 3pm Irish time on Today FM, and will reputedly be accompanied by the confirmation of specific dates.
You can listen to the clip on Soundcloud.
In the clip, Bono says there will be three shows at the 3Arena. Two will be for Music Generation. The third will be at Christmastime; Bono references his annual Grafton Street busking and says that he hopes to get a bit of the spirit of Grafton Street into the 3Arena.
Of course, more shows may be added and details may change - to reiterate, this was recorded back in January and things may have changed since then.
