U2 back in Spain in 2016?
U2 are still five months away from performing four concerts in Barcelona as part of the second leg of the Innocence + Experience Tour, yet here we are already with rumours of a return to Spain next year.
You may recall the rumour last week that U2 will tour Europe in May-July 2016, including shows in Portugal in July. This rumour stated that the shows would again be indoors, not stadiums.
Well, now U2enEspaña have reported on Twitter that U2 will be back to Spain in 2016. They say that this is "not a rumour" and that the concerts will be in indoor venues, though dates and cities are yet to be confirmed.
There are further murmurings online that the Spanish dates may be as early as March, and that there will be South American dates in the second half of 2016.
We will bring you more news when we have it, though don't expect official confirmation any time soon. Major tours tend to get announced quite far in advance nowadays - the first dates of the IE Tour were six months away when the tour was announced in December 2014 - but even if a European leg were to begin in March 2016, advance notice of six months would still only place the announcement in October this year. Plenty of time for the rumour mill to continue producing its wares.
