OK, first I'll give you a little background information on myself. My name is Sarah and I am 13 years old. The only thing I wanted for my 13th birthday (May 22) was to see U2 at MSG on May 21. So even though we couldn't get tickets through ticketmaster, my whole family (6 of us) waited in the box office line for 6 1/2 hours. We met a lot of cool people that day, including Miroslava, waiting to see the band come in. They didn't get out for autographs but we got an awesome picture of Bono driving by giving us a peace sign. Unfortunately, when my mom got to the box office ticket window, the only seats left were $170 seats and that was just way too much $$$, especially for 6 of us. And the next day, my 13th birthday, we spent in the emergency room with my brother. How fun? Happy birthday me!Anyhow, here's my story 6 months later. My mom lucked out and was able to get GAs for 11/22. My dad originally didn't want me to go because he was worried, but my mom finally convinced him that it would be OK. So on the train on the way to NYC for the concert, my mom and I talked about where we might end up on the floor. She said that she didn't want us to be so uptight about where we might end up on the floor because no matter what, we would enjoy being there. She also said, let's pray that we end up where God wants us to be (in the ellipse, or out, front rail back etc.) and wherever we end up, that's where He wants us. Well, my mom's ticket scanned into the ellipseand we were super excited! When they let us in, we got in the second row in front of the stage, directly in front of Adam, but a tall guy in front of me was extremely nice and let me go in front of him. SO I WAS IN THE FIRST ROW!!! I came prepared; I had my pink birthday hat from May, but I didn't want to be dishonest, so I covered the birthday girl part with my own sign that said "Take Me Slow Dancing." The show started and it was just amazing. My mom and I were totally freaking out just because we were so close (she's been a huge fan for 18 years and had never been able to get GAs before then). The song Mysterious Ways was definitely the highlight for me! Early on in the song, Bono came towards me and just looked intently at me for like 2 or 3 seconds. Then he smiled and pointed at me and said, "You!" and then he walked away. All the cool people around me were saying, "You're going up, you're going up!" Then during my favorite part of the song when he sings "To touch is to heal/to hurt is to steal/if you wanna kiss the sky/better learn how to kneel/on your knees boy," he leaned over and reached out to me. When we squeezed fingertips, he quickly pulled away, totally teasing me with a big smile on his face. Then he went to another part of the stage/catwalk for another minute or two. Then he came directly to me, held out his hand, and motioned for me to get on stage. OMG! I was totally freaked out because I know people usually dance really sexy during that song, and I wasn't about to do that (even if I could). I won't even dance with my friends or anything, much less at MSG in front of 20,000+ people! But thankfully, Bono looked right at me and said (while pointing at his eyes), "Look straight into my eyes, don't dance." Now it gets a little fuzzy because I was in major shock, that was one thing I never expected to happen. I felt like I was dreaming and that I would suddenly wake up. Then we crossed hands (my right hand in his left with the mic), and we starting spinning around and around in circles, so fast that my braids were in the air. While I was up there, he seemed to be smiling a lot. Then he walked me to the front of the stage with his arm around me and I lifted my hand up to touch his. I didn't even realize this until I saw the pictures. Honestly, I don't even remember if he said anything, but he bent down and I got on his back. He was singing at the microphone with me on his back, and then it hit me that this was the most incredible moment of my life. So I shot my fist up in the air, and the audience starting cheering. When he put me back on the ground by my spot in front of Adam, the security guards thought that Bono wanted me to get down. But he wasn't done with me yet! My mom and many other people said that they saw him trying really hard to get my attention to say goodbye. I had no idea this was going on as I was trying to figure out how to get back to my spot on the floor. I didn't see this until the video clip, but Bono tried tapping my back and he eventually gave up, waved, and shrugged his shoulders because I didn't turn around. And knowing Bono it would've been something really sweet too! Can you believe it, I'm so mad at myself! Not that I'm complaining, but still I will always wonder what else he would've done or said. Later on in the show, during With or Without You, Bono came back and held my hand only and looked straight in my face for a few seconds during the song. It was just an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING experience!!!!! And it seriously feels like a dream! When the concert ended, people surrounded me and were saying "Congrats! How was it? Totally amazing!" etc. Even while we were filing out, everyone recognized me and had such nice things to say (it took us 45 minutes to leave the arena because so many people were coming up to me). Also on the way out, we passed Ali and she waved to me! My mom is so happy for me, even if she is a little jealous, especially when I told her, "Bono's hands are sooo sooo soft!" So exactly six months after I turned 13, my birthday wish came true...and it was better than I ever could've imagined! It's something so special that my Mom and I will never forget and can share the rest of our lives!~Sarah P.S. Sorry it's really long. I kinda get carried away thinking about U2!!!

I love your little hat :) I would be happy for you too if I were your mom.If my youngest daughter were to make it up there I would feel that still a little piece of me made it up there also. Sarah, your story was way cute!!Being a mom of an 13 year old girl myself, I can't keep wondering, why has my daughter such poor taste in music???? ;)Well, I know she would happily go to an U2 concert with me, so no complaints there.I'm happy for you Sarah! And I hope my daughter won't grow a lot as it will be eaiser to throw her on the stage, when we eventually get to a show. Especially if we are very far from the stage..As she can not hurt herself as she needs to start running towards Edge and fight her way through bonos butt .. and.. no wait, thats MY nightmare..

Ok ??? that is ENOUGH!! poor Bono! I think I have had it with people even teasing him about his butt. Did anyone read the predictions on @u2.com from Kelly Eddington? She was saying mean things about Bono being aspirin white and having pasty skin:( I don't know how she calles herself a fan!! So enough already with attacking any of them. I love them all so cut it out!!
