Genial! S'impliquen amb tot i entenen allà on van. Són genials en tots els aspectes.

it's a fucking moment, catalunya is spain and this is not the flag of spain
From: laits on 2005-08-09 04:04:45
Bono knows that is the differential fact between catalonia and Spain and he showed and I teach it for everyone.Gràcies per existir! Laits.

long live catalunya - independance is a state of mind and lives strong in Cata country

Spanish people and Catalan people should COEXIST and respect both one for another. Freedom for catalonia if that's what catalans, and not spanish people, want. Visca U2
From: zoo-keeper on 2005-08-09 16:10:51
coexist...exotics...cultural heritage and historical pride are too deep rooted to make theis panacea work....but it sure looks good on the big screen in a glitzy rock n roll show.

You can always try man, that is a negative way to go about life. I think Bono is trying to use the celebrity to make a difference, nothing gets done if you think like the way you are. You may not change everthing, but you can make life good for some and that counts for something.
From: Laura on 2005-08-09 19:56:35
I agree with that. Try to make a difference! If I wouldn't do that my life would seem a kind of useless in my eyes (I'm not speeking for anybody else here, ofcourse). Though I think it's important to look at what things are most important to change as soon as possible. There is still some work left to be done here...

..they do speak different language too!..that's not spanish which is a very beautiful one!.....HOLA'!!!

indeed you can always try...but be more specific rather than suggesting i'm negative. what can you try ? what can you do ? "COEXIST" is an emotive and challenging ( at some level ) slogan, but finally the message is as empty as "IMAGINE" or "MAKE LOVE NOT WAR". its popular politics played out by egocentric popular rock stars...hark your minds back to Bono's war on guns during the last tour ..... we don't hear any more about that now...Africa has all of a sudden got sexy again. and if you want to talk about the daughters of ZION and all the abraham sons, why do U2 go to Tel Aviv and play under the star of David ( back in 97 ) during which time the International Community openly condemned the israeli govt ( and still are ) for their illegal occupation of Gaza ....this is not what i'd call supporting an ethic of coexistance. No, the slogan junter is just as empty as the pop-up truisms that flashed across the self effacing TV sets during ZOO TV...difference there being that at the time U2 were observers and poking fun at consumerism gone haywire...the fly being the devils messenger...mirrorball man - the greedy money grabbing media celeb wrapped up in his own beauty ....macphisto...an overweight, pooped out popstar past his best - a has been.....it was social commentary....now it would appear that Bono has got braver, and he has upped the stakes..he's got the balls to stand infront of 80 000 people and politicise ( of course ....why not use the stage as he does? its great practice for his imminent political career outside of his day job )....but i'd contest that if he's going to take such a tack...then lets see some substance rather than easy disposal and poetic slogans which paint a quaint picture of the world...the panacea is not hidden within...at least not the way they present it..because all it is is an emotive slogan...i believe that if BONO is trying to tell us whats right and wrong....whats good and bad...that we should COEXIST ...Fine...but follow through. really DO something about it and don't give up.case in point: Good Friday Agreements...Bono was their in Belfast pressing the flesh ..not misssing one single photo opp with Trimble et Al...well, Trimble has gone, the agreement is in tatters...where's our egocentric rock n roller come peace broker now? don't get me wrong...i love U2 and have followed them all my life...but this blind faith in "the word of BONO" that so many of you on this forum is rather tiresome and flat. lets coexist in a world full of equal opportunity for men & women regardless of creed / colour / religion / sexual proclivity / physical-mental impediment / in a world of honesty, integrity, social justice, freedom, hope and honour....i'm all for it...but what i'm not for is putting out this message at a rock show to win over hearts minds and to justify the $85 price tag that BONO et Al have snuck from your pocket to see a rock n roll show cos tomorrow they'll be gone, they'll be playing somewhere else and we'll be left to do the hard work.
From: Slateblue on 2005-08-10 13:04:24
"You can easily talk about COEXISTance when you have high walls around your house and your own private access to the beach!" That's what a fellow U2 fan said to me when we talked about this subject. And what can I say - I think he's right.Personally, I think there will always be contradictions that cannot be resolved, just because life is that way. Mine, too. And as for the shows, I was highly confused after my first Vertigo concert because I was so fed up with Bono and felt I couldn't put up with it. Now, after having been to some more shows, I have to say that most of the time, I didn't listen anymore... I filter out what's new and what touches me, and the rest goes by as "Yes, Bono, I know...". For me, it works. *shrugs*

thanks for the message SLATE .... you know i felt uncomfortable about writing what i did cos i love the bands music ( less so than i did when they were at the top of their game during the Z00 years )and still get goose bumps when they play VERTIGO / SYCMIOYO / COBL / over here on french radio... hell i even went to see them in Nice last week and the show was great.i guess ( as you pointed out in your post ) that its the double standard, the throw away remark that bugs me...talk is cheap.i suppose though its always hard to truely judge the moral fibre of any such discourse adopted by the rich, the famous, the privelidged...cos ultimately, they can walk away. respect therefore goes out to the likes of Nelson Mandella...he lived it, he went to jail for what he believed and came out the other fighting. theres a man who can get up and ask for the people to follow him. Martin Luther King another man....Desert Rat Rommel took the ultimate sacrifice for a true and virtuous stance against evil...Muhamed Ali ..he game it all up too. these men are virtuous .... their messages were onces that held ressonence ....bring back the mischievous fly...the meglamanic mirrorball man and the horny macphisto...they said he knew us even better than we know ourselves....i miss em all.

You're welcome. :-) And yes, I do feel uncomfortable, too, because hey, this is my favourite band, and it would be great to just say: No matter what, I love the whole package! But it's not possible, there will always be things that bug me and annoy me. But that's ok. I think it's just natural. Like, when you care about somebody and they do something you don't agree with, it causes a bad feeling. Because after all, you still love them.I think it would be really interesting to see a Zoo TV show these days. Just get on a time machine and fly back and just experience it all again. It would be interesting to see what I'd think about it now. It appeared to me that they want to revive some of it on this tour, and I'm not sure if I like it. I mean, yes, it's great to hear Zoo Station again - but wasn't it Bono who talked of nostalgia and of "liking something not because it's great, but because it REMINDS you of something that was great"? That's the feeling I get when I watch them play Zoo Station and The Fly these days, with all the visuals and stuff. I like it because it gives me the chance to re-live a bit of what I experienced in 1993.*sigh*And as for the "rich" - ok, I know you refer to the super-rich, but compared to the rest of the world, we all belong to the "rich". In that we can make choices. I think that's where it starts. You have the choice what you do with your money, for instance, or who or which ideas you support. (At least I hope I have the choice, maybe it's all brainwash and I'm being manipulated by aliens or the government. ;-) )

ok SLATE. i'm picking up the same vibes as you. you know, i have 6 bootleg CD's from the ZOO & ZOOROPA ...and i have to say that they sound super thick in emotion, swagger and you just feel that they were on the top of their game...heh, the music still sounds fresh, edgy ( pardonning the punn ) and relevant. from the opening rips of the tutonic guitar in ZOO STATION to the haunting whawha's of Love is Blindness the band really did nail their music to the mast and blew in the wind with the greats. they challenged, they pushed, probed, questioned, mocked, joked, sobbed, cried, begged through their music...(but they never preached to us)they took us places with their Wild Horses, To the End of the World, sliding down the surface of things...up and down like an acrobat, going in slowmow ..up side down...at 6 O clock in the morning....we threw our arms around the band and we felt they were even better than the real thing....and all because...well, we all had our trip to the ZOO STATION...we all got off and went home happy....and because they never preached meant that we went home wide eyed, open minded blessed with ideas to think for ourselves, challenge the status quo...buzz things up like the fly, take a chance and think for ourselves....thats why i loved Achtung BABY, thats why their music meant so much....thats why i'll love U2 forever. PS: i was at Celtic Park ( Glasgow ) in 93 when Bono linked up live to a bunker in Sarajevo..we rocked out together with those brave fans and it brought the tough 70 000 strong glaswegian crowd to its knees...more emotional moments ( en masse ) are hard to come by.heh SLATE...its been good writing to you - brings back great memories...take care and check you out again soon.ZK

OK ZOO Keeper, I have spent a better part of my life thinking like you and being around people like you and It got me nowhere!! I felt alone, sad,and like there was never any hope for anything. Do I think Bono is a super hero that can change the world....Please, I'm not that simplistic. When I first wrote that you can try and that you are being negative. I should have clarified myself, but had not time to do it since I have company. You make some very valid points, but I think you have to understand that life is very intricate and complex and if you take the route that people are never going to change and it will always be the same, I think we would still be in a cave in the dark if that were true. I think if you really do some reading(if you have then pardon me) but maybe you should read the new book that came out with him being interviewed by the French journalist. I think you would get a better picture of him. People never thought that the Wall would come down either did they? There truley are things in this world that surprise and ignite the soul. I think you are being unfair about Bono and Africa and him jumping on a band wagon because it is sexy now to do so. I think you will find that he has never lost touch with this and that out of any pop star he has put his money where his mouth is. He has also said he is no saint and never has claimed to be. He is one man not a super hero. I think all the hype around him is created by him to some degree to get the attention for his music and his causes, but I think we have put him there also. If you read what you wrote, it sounds like you pretty much want him to just keep to his music and that is it. That would not be our good friend Bono quite frankly. You asked where he was after the good friday talks, What else can he do? I think he really believes that if he can help in anyway with his celebrity, then he does.He himself has said it is all bullshit(celebrity). I have noticed that he has touched a few of us who would never know anything about Africa. Can I do something, probably not in the long run. BUT what if he touches a kid that becomes the linch pin in the whole thing and from that sprouts the CHANGE. Will the war on religion ever change, probably not and I do agree that things are deep routed, but I don't think things are impossible. Maybe that sounds sappybut, it is very easy to sit in a chair and be negative and critical. I think it is extremely hard to stay up beat and stand for something and hope for change. Like I said it takes one person. It may not be Bono and all his preaching, it could be that one kid that was inspired somewhere in another country that has more power to change things. YOU NEVER KNOW. But then again, go ahead and sit in a chair and say it's never going to happen. I know you love them and that isn't the point. The point is you don't like the preaching and you are wondering where he is when things aren't great, sounds like you are elevating him to GOD and he is just a rock star after all. He is only doing his best.

Zoo-keeper, can I ask you where you are from? Just curious. I paid half of what you paid for your ticket. And if you don't want to contribute to thier wealth, don't go. Sounds like you are also living in the Zoo era. I love Achtung baby is my favorite, But that was them in the 90's ,they have changed like we all do, I think people want them to be suspended in time. Don't we all. I love what they did then, and now. I don't like everything ,I'm not like that, that they can do now wrong, but I like the evolution of THEM in general and who they are today.

dear OctU2. thanks for the comments..heres a few bounced back:you defend Bono on several occasions by saying that he has a) admitted that "he is no Saint" and b) he said that "celebrity is bullshit". Ok - fine, i never suggested the contrary. you also said that from my comments you understand that i would rather see BONO keep to his music and that i'm stuck in the ZOO years. well, first of all - i don't really care what BONO does or doesn't do. its not my business. i was simply responding in my own way to the never ending plethera of pithy and sickophantic posts i read on this forum.to love U2 music and to challenge some of the ideas / visions / ambitions that BONO is pedalling in the media and on-stage today does not represent an exercise in the impossible. au contraire. and i'd further go on to say that he has done a great deal of good and battles for many great causes. my question is " but for what end?". you quite rightly point out that BONO finally couldn't do much about the break down in the Good Friday agreement...on that level, he is impotent...after-all "celebrity is bullshit" and when we are talking about healing rifts which date back to the time of Oliver Cromwell - one wonders if a) the rock star dressed up in combats isn't just a little bit out of his deapth and b) being seen pictured with a mixture of politicians and former terrorists isn't just a crass photo-opp to further Bono's political ambition and his meglomania? lets not forget either that he's riddled with public speaking contradiction...ok "celebrity is bullshit" - but h's made a damn good career out of it..he asks people to follow his will, his vision, his beliefs....what does this mean? we follow a self proclaimed bullshitter? this is my problem...you see OCTU2 where does it begin and where does it end...where are the parameters around which we can understand BONO's motives outside the music arena and off-stage? as for being stuck in the ZOO era...I'm not. i simply have a preference for the music which; to me was more powerful, more challenging and rich in texture, structure and execution than later work. for me U2 were at their creative peak during the Achtung Baby...interestingly i should like to point out that as the politicising has increased off stage the standard of the albums has slipped. is he trying to plug up the wholes, fill in the gaps left behind after the creativity dried up? i don't know? its just a question...so i don't know how to respond to your rather dead end suggestion that i'm stuck in the past. i'm not. and as i mentioned, i don't really care what becomes of U2 today, tomorrow or in 5 years time because its out of my control. they are who they are, they were what the were, and my post on this forum allowed me to express some of my thoughts about the band....but from the tone of your post, it would appear that its not the "done" thing on this forum to utter / suggest anything negative or challenging about the band cos it may ruffle some feathers...

Zoo-Keeper ...this is to you and not to any one else that has posted on this photo.... and believe me this has nothing to do with Oct calling attention to your post because I've been watching you since you first started posting provocative messages. In my opinion you are in a serious time warp with a completely stifled IMAGINATION so who could expect anything different to come through you icy fingers...do your self and all of us a favor and please quit professing your love for U2..... in every typing-breath you have gone out of your way to state just the opposite. All of your statements are snide and sneaky avouchments that in fact Bono in particular has pissed you off or let you down because he has not lived up to YOUR expectations as to what HE should be doing with HIS career HIS music HIS art HIS religion HIS politics riding up into the 21st century........gee whats a ROCK STAR to do????...I evoke back to you that YOU have never gotten this band YOU have never understood what they are about You who have never inspired more than your own inhalation and could never in a million years be taken seriously on any level. If you think to come in here and twist and turn events to your own frame of mindset and stick the knife further into their backs I'm afraid you have seriously over played your cards. Your waggling over the price of a Rock Concert ticket as if it should be donated to you because you were born. Well fucking la de da ! (sorry to my friends for swearing!)... Wake up ....where was it ever written by U2 that they play for free? Better yet what would be a reasonable price for YOU to pay? What would fit your criteria of the mold that U2 should be pigeon-holed into? Besides it being free of course which I'm sure would fit your mold to a tee. Do you work? Do you own products or produce something in your job? Well why aren't you out giving half of it away on a street corner? Where is YOUR analysis of your own life? You say YOU are tired of the name of BONO in this forum ...WELL HELL that's one for the books!!!....excuse me does this site have your f---ing name headlining it?... yet here you are as big as life making your crankiness known to one and all... hooty hoot hoot do you think your the first to come along here and try to pick away at this band??? I can't even believe you have the unmitigated gall to hint that Bono would not feel deeply about his own country's future!! This is beyond the beyond even for a cranky poster such as YOU!!!.... Slate's comments were so much more heartfelt with a sense of how she has resolved her issues with some of this because she actually loves these men and has a sense of community here with the rest of us but your statements are like poison arrows ment to take U2 out of action....Ment to hurt and bleed people here that are truely moved by these muscians and their music.... Where is your honesty? You use cliches like your craping them out your behind ..! Do you think your the first person to use these inflamatory comparitables when trying to inflame negativity?? HAA! ...in every other word you type you twist and turn events of past shows of pooloitical climates of there day to conform to your own suit but in the end the very thing you have an obvious *hard-on* about with Bono is the very thing that pisses you off the most ..."" MONEY""... Yep who has it and who hasn't!!! Hypocrite is to tame a word for you zoo-keeper and believe me I'm putting this whole post of mine mildly because I could have really went off on you....and I didn't!......Jeeeez haven't you ever listened to POP album? It just might clear up a few of your misplaced theorems and give you a whole new outlook on progression and change as the world never stays the same nor should it! You may grieve for it you may long for it you may turn hard and bitter from the constant of it ...but it will never stay the same!....and were all waving bye bye as the U2 merry-go-round passes you by! Look hun you jumped ship along time ago so let it go.. let U2 go... let us go and you just might find you get what you need!!! hardy har har ok I stole that from the Stones but as Bono says poets can be thieves........ grrrr

going by your inability to discuss our differing points of view in a calm and mature manner, i can only presume that you are ill educated short tempered individual who does not habour the mental capacity to mindfully retort to a differing point of view.furthermore, bombarding the forum with inappropriate language and launching a scathing personal attack on me only compounds the issue ( i can only assume you are an american ). you have also, assumed many things which i did not say. but do not be mistaken. you will NOT stop me posting where and whenever i like. if anyone should be prohibited from posting it ought to be you for the ill mannered, rude and offensive tone which you have chosen to adopt with me.

Until you can answer that question I say again what is your point? By the way do you think pink looks good on a contrite smug air headed sickophant tart that rides a high horse and is ill mannered with a short temper...and oh yes is definately a California girl? I keep telling you re read your posts sweety your as sicko as they come!.... How high is your horse baby? zoo-keeper,what Bono meant about that celebrity is bullshit is that he don't like to get his private life ruined,he and U2 love his fans and they also know that we love them. but it's another thing to have a camera be pointed in to your bathroom when taking a shower, and have your butt on the frontside of every magazine the next morning, isn't it? I don't think any of us would like that. AND if you are complaining about the high prizes, why did you pay the prize at all? if you think that U2 does more wrong than they do right I don't think you should have went for that show at all, and commenting on this page when all the things you have to say is negative. and then if bono only thinks about the money, why did every bandmember just give away 1,5 million american dollars of their OWN money? because they ARE TRYING to help!! we have bono to thank for the Make Poverty History and ONE campaign,we have him to thank for many african kids and adults actually living in this very moment! maybe you missed the part of the show when he spoke about 3.000 african children dying everyday because of dirty water?yes, it look like you missed that part, mister! and what's the point of saying rude things about Soulcatgirl here, just because she's an american citizen? you see,I may be young but all of the words that come out of my mouth aren't always pretty either! and I think you sound like a wannabe god or something, that you are the one with every single point of yours right, but you're not. I'm standing by Paul David Hewson,Lawrence Joseph Mullen jr.,Adam Charles Clayton, and David Howell Evans in this case and so will it be forever...thank you!

why have you all got a fixation about 1 element of what i was talking about? that being the price of the tickets? i mentioned it once and to be honest, i wish i hadn't bothered because: 1) i really don't care how much i payed for my tickets 2) it wasn't the equivalent of $85 but infact it was more..£60 for the Twickenham show in London and for the show in Glasgow ( and i picked up 4 each time ) and then i got a special invite to the show in Nice last week...So really for you all to focus on this abject point is somewhat nauseus.you chose not to engage in debate fine. who are you fascist U2 police? say no evil here no evil? grow up. the way you behave, monopolise what ought to be said about the band is so insular and overbearing it discredits you all. Hmmm... If I have followed this discussion correctly, I get the impression the people involved are not so far apart from one another. Apparently, what unites us is the love for the band's music. And as I said before, I think it's only natural that if you love something, you watch over it very critically and get protective when you feel someone else is treating it in a manner that's not fair. And let's be honest: You don't get in such a passionate fight with words about something that you don't care about. :-)Now, I don't feel wise enough to comment on the political issues, but personally, I think Zoo-keeper makes some valid points on the Zoo TV era. I agree in that it was their artistic peak, musically and especially lyrically, and the whole concept of Zoo TV to me is still stunning, even after all these years. Today, when you watch it on video, it might not be state-of-the-art anymore, but it's still fascinating, because it's smart and complex. And yes, I am convinced that Achtung Baby will always be their best album. Lyrically, it was all downhill from there, if you ask me... But that's another subject. And no, I won't start the Bono bashing again. I do have some issues with the man, but this is not the place to discuss them. It's a personal thing I don't want to share with whoever might be reading here.I also think Oct made a good point when she said that it's easier to just sit there and be negative, instead of trying to make a change. I can't tell you how often I've felt like this. And at times, it's so hard to get the motivation to keep things going when you feel it doesn't make a difference. But then again, you should never give up hope. Or to cite the unnameable: "You should worry 'bout the day that the pain it goes away". After all, frustration is a good motor to get active.Enough rambling for the moment, I think...PS: ... and thanks for Zoo-keeper and Soulie for teaching me some new insults! My favourite is "your intellect is rivalled only by gardening tools" - priceless! ;-) I have to drop that phrase during my next English conversation.
From: Slateblue on 2005-08-11 16:35:36
Uh, don't let me be misunderstood here: With "whoever might be reading here", I mean that apart from the people I know here and who I appreciate, there are probably lots more who just surf by to look at the pictures. And I just don't feel comfortable to present such personal issues in such a public place where you never know who might read it.

wise words ...wise words....you have taken some of the wind out of my sails and i would like to use this opportunity to extend my appologies to the forum and particularly Soul Cat for using derogatory remarks. the purpose of the forum ( i'm sure ) was not to encourage people to battle out their differences of opinion and for the error in my judgement i am sorry.however, as a life long fan and someone who enjoys sharing stories, exchanging ideas and talking about the band, I am saddened by the way that my posts have been systematically assassinated by certain members of the posting forum. it wasn't called for and i believe it was unjustified. accepting such a simplistic mantra ( pedalled by the style and content of certain members posts ) which promotes superficial comments about how the band look is sad and i believe it falls short of what this site and forum has the potential to create in terms of fan based synergy.lets remember that the scuffle that i have been involved in began on the 9th when i responded to a post by Joan which concerned COEXISTANCE....if the last few days posts have proved anything, its that 2 / 3 / U2 fans can't coexist in a mature and adult fashion on this site. i accept my share of responsibility for this...but feel that others ought to front up and take a moment to consider how and what they said.ZK

Tisk Tisk ZOO person, who by the way I think is a man and is of British decent. Please all you British people don't get mad here, because if you have read any of my posts before, I love the British and their humor and tons of other stuff. My father is of British decent, so whoever is British out there do not get mad at me. BUT ZOO keeper let some secerts about himself go when he said a few things. I think you are a man also, since you don't like our comments of the bands apperance. Everytime women get together and mention how hot guys look, the men have to go all crazy and call us tarts. But it is perfectly ok for men to oggle women and say crude comments all the time. I didn't want to hit the low road that you did ZOOkeeper when you mentioned Soulcat being american, but I will say this, Europeans seem to think that Americans all live in a bubble and have simplistic thoughts on politics and religion. Not so. Do your homework buddy!! And you really need to re-read your comments like Soulcat said, because no matter how well written, You are pretty much a dog chasing it's tail. You sound so much like my dad when he gets on a roll, and contradicts himself with eloquent words. I know your type.I may have just opened up a new can of worms but you can't say stuff about nationality and not expect some retaliation. I think you need to move on to another site where there are others of your kind. So you can all wallow in your gloom, doom and OHH they were sooo much better than before, but I will torture myself and go see all their shows.....then I can complain and cry to others of my kind on how they have fallen to the waysaid and they were sooooo much better in the Achtung baby era YADAYADA........boo hoo I'm so smart and all these people are mindless tarts looking at Bono's ass and MR.THE EDGE"S beautiful biceps...... I may be a tart, but you my friend are a NERDBALLISH person and if you want to know what a nerdball is read my other post on a different picture. Go now run to your MUMMY,and tell her how all the mindless tarts were mean to you and how you can't speak your mind.

dear OctU2we cleary are speaking a different language and you have by the tone of your email not accepted my sincere appologies for the outburst that i made against Soul cat.if you actually go back and read what i say ...i mention ( if i'm not mistaken that VERTIGO / SYCMIONYO / COBL et al / make my spine tingle when i hear them on the radio....that i love the ZOO years...that i reckon that BONO and U2 have done a great deal of good and have battled for social justice...lets be reasonable here...don't bash me cos you get confused with your own feelings...you are being unreasonable...i'd also like to say that i'm not going to be bullied by you the U2 girls.... simply cos i don't agree with your comments and diatribe. i am a bonifide U2 fan of 20 years...and have just as much right to comment as you do. i shall not accept this BULLYING that you and your cohorts are pedalling in my direction...and though i may be ALONE i will not give up my right to be a) a U2 fan b) a guy who has an opinion about the band.I STAND RESOLUTE and look forward to hearing back from you soon.

This will be my last comment to you ZOOKEEPER,as I find you a bit dowdy and tired in your ranting. On one hand you apologized to Soulcat, then in your next sentance you go on to bash us in what we comment on etc(the simplistic mantra). I guess we just aren't as super intellectually COOL as you are to discuss music. I do believe we have all gone on here and voiced our intelect in one form or another and not just gone on and on about how the band looks. I can't really warm up to a person who keeps saying'Oh I love the band ,but......Bono is this or he stands for this,,Oh wait no he is just a blow hard and hasn't done anything but make money off of us....... Do you not agree that all your comments are contradictory? Hey I'm up for a good discussion and critique. But you are all over the place and everything you say eventually gets cancelled out in the next sentance. READ AGAIN what you have written. You are the type of critic that bashes a band because you think they have sold out. I think that is sad, that people like you think you are so artsy and edgy and would never sell out. Hey I might be wrong on that point, but to me you seem very much like you want this site to be on such a high plane, that it doesn't become fun anymore and light hearted. I have my quips too,but I don't think you need to dampen the mood on here like you have. GET OVER IT PAL. I just re-read you first sentance and you really do think that this site is to battle out differences...I disagree. I think it is for fun,and maybe some healthy discussion, but not the turn you took. How come you don't even answer question that were pointed to you. Soulcat told you that she was from California, and I have asked you where you are from. I guess we all know you are male. OK I'll give it to you that I miss read that you liked those songs, bravo to you then. One more thing stop saying et al unless in fact you are French, then that is a whole other story. :)

By the way ZOOKEEPER, I for one am not ill educated. I have gone to University and have a degree. I also remember coming across your kind in University as well. I think you take yourself way too seriously and try and be a wordsmith to get out of something. If you read behing your smoke sceen, you say nothing important actually. I could say your way of ranting is very ill informed. What books have you read on the band and what they really think? I'll go head to head on some of the topics if you have read anything. I don't think you have because of what you say.

i never said BONO is blow hard and has melted money off us...you say that i'm all over the place...thats your call...i think i'm just exploring the ideas that the band evokes in me. i'm not artsy for your information...i'm in sales. i don't want to adopt a hight plane...and don't think i do. to express oneself in a differnt manner from the others is not to express a high plane..it simply means we come from a differnt angle...we still enjoy the same music..however, we may interpret the message in a different way. to that end, i certainly do NOT want to dampen the mood and as i've said in previous POSTS...i recognise my shortfalls and appologise to SoulCat, the webmaster MATT and all visitors for my self indulgent remarks directed at SC. they were uncalled for and over-cooked. as it turns out, i was born in Edinburgh (Scotland) 1973 and now live in France; in the region known as the VAR...my villa is situated about 20 mins away from EZE on the Côte d'Azur ... i have been living here since 1989.
From: zoo-keeper on 2005-08-11 22:05:18
Dear OctU2...going head to head on the band is an interesting idea. but what will this prove? if you get more answers right than me...you are a bigger fan? perhaps you fancy Bono / Larry / adam / edge more than i do...? perhaps you've seen them more times in concert. perhaps you've got the demo tapes based on their albums...perhaps you just despise me for not agreeing with you and your clique...but the fact of the matter is that no-one can measure someone elses passion for the band....so why do you keep on pushing?

I guess also I didn't mean head to head in that manner, I thought it would be fun to discuss what Bono said in the last book I read. It is the one with the French journalist. Very well done I must say. Read it and we will have a friendly discussion. Isn't France great!!! I loved every region that I visited. Shall we shake and be friends now :)

From what i heard a leg in Australia and South America should happen next year AND a stadium tour in the U2 seems to be planned as well. So prepare to get hit by the big stage :)I really hope they release both filmed shows. Chicago for the US and Milan for Europe and maybe a fan package with both shows. I also hope the power loss on the Milan filming did no harm to the production of these nights. It's sad that SYCMIOYO from the first night will be missed since it was an outstanding performance. IMO a european show will not sell that good in the US so a double release is my hope to get Milan on DVD :) Look for the tall guy with the camera if the DVD is out ;)

LISBON (Reuters) - Portugal said on Tuesday it would award Irish rockers U2 the country's Order of Liberty to honor the band's humanitarian efforts. President Jorge Sampaio will award the Dublin four -- lead singer Bono, guitarist The Edge, bassist Adam Clayton and drummer Larry Mullen Jr. -- before a concert in Lisbon on Sunday."Over the last 25 years the band has allied its public exposure gained through musical success with the defense of humanitarian causes and human rights," a presidential spokeswoman said.Bono was a major figure in the Live Aid concert for Ethiopian famine relief 20 years ago and has since campaigned for the world's poor. U2 were also involved in last month's Live 8 concert held to pressure rich nations to alleviate poverty.

I never like to tell people I told you so, but hey, I told you so. I don't think Bono would get all those awards for nothing. Ya know, he is nominated for a nobel peace prize. Perhaps he won't get it,but to be concidered on that levels says something. Slate, why did you say, I don't have the u2 thing, is a language thing or do you not like it. I loved this one because my two favorite colors are red and black together, and just this summer they added color to the screen and other features. You can put personal photos on it and do a whole slide show if you wanted to on your tv. I didn't care for the all white one and my daughter already has the mini ipod in pink, so hey whats left? My husband and I are sharing it as well, since it does have the capacity of 5,000 songs on it. It also came with a 50.00 dollar coupon to get the whole darn collection of u2. I think that is great since I am missing some of the early cds and this would put them all on there. I'm looking forward to that. Love the signiatures on the back as well. Well, ZOOKEEPER, out of first instinct I would have Achtung baby first in line then Joshua tree. I do like the very early stuff also like War. Achtung baby has some very special memories for me and I love it the most. I'm religious too, but I think you will be scaring some people here if you keep quoting the bible. Just a thought. As far as the line up, I was in the San Jose show, more central California show and it started with COBL and now everytime I here that song it reminds me of the opening of the concert!! It was all dark in the arena and then they put on the lights to all this confetti!! SO nice, but I 'm sure they will change it. I loved ELectical Storm and I wish they would play that one. On the ipod package of U2 music, you get all 400 of their songs plus 40 rare singles that were never released. I'm excited.

"Wipe the tears from your eyes" -- Revelation 21:4: "He will wipe every tear from their eyes..." I’ve been away for a couple of days and a nice discussion has been born, I see. Most important things are already been said, but I just couldn’t resiste to add a comment as well. But don’t worry, though it is very tempting, I won’t start all over again ;)First of all I’m rather negative and pessimistic as well. I wish I could be more specific on how to make a change, but I can’t. If I would know were to start and would to do, I would be doing it right now. I just think that people shouldn’t stop to care. I would feel weak, when I would close my eyes for the thinks that don’t fit in my perfect little world (and there’s a lot going on that doesn’t fit in there). Just have the gutts to see what’s happening. What you’re doing with it is your own choice. Trying to make a difference can be done (or started?) on a very small scale..I don’t say I support U2 in every political effort they’re making. And diplomatically as I am, I don’t say that I don’t too :) I don’t know enough of it to judge. Sadly, I lost my faith in “good causes” and things like that a long time ago. Too many times it prooved to be a great lie. This makes it even harder to try and make a difference, because I feel that I lack a point to start from.Although I’ll have to admit that COEXIST is a rather empty slogan (though brilliantly came up with, don’t you think?) I like that U2, or Bono if you will, does try to make a difference. It is good that they’re using their position to spread a thought. Who else has such a usefull position as U2? Making people aware is an important thing, and frankly being the leadsinger of worlds largest rock band is a very usefull position to do so. I’m afraid I have to realize that the chance of making the difference is rather small. But that’s not gonna stop me from trying. Like you said, Oct, it makes you feel sad. But paradoxically the thought brings a lot of comfort as well. Call me a romantic soul, I’ll keep trying, cause that’s the only thing that eases my mind. I don’t feel like I have another option. And I don’t want another option, though it might make life a lot easier ;)I just wish my English would be better, for I could say more clearly what’s on my mind :)

I've been thinking of the past few days about what has been said and where my thoughts came from///equally, it has been interesting to read LAURA...and then i realised that i had not really ever managed to say what i wanted...and i guess it comes down to a question of "the common good"...that which will be ( in U2 terms ) recognised by the portuguse govt in a few days time for U2's efforts on international issues....now that i've had some time to stand back from this issue and properly think i'd like to suggest the following ideas..What exactly is "the common good", and why has it come to have such a critical place in current discussions of problems in our society? The common good is a notion that originated over two thousand years ago in the writings of Plato, Aristotle, and Cicero. More recently, the contemporary ethicist, John Rawls, defined the common good as "certain general conditions that are...equally to everyone's advantage". The Catholic religious tradition, which has a long history of struggling to define and promote the common good, defines it as "the sum of those conditions of social life which allow social groups and their individual members relatively thorough and ready access to their own fulfillment." The common good, then, consists primarily of having the social systems, institutions, and environments on which we all depend work in a manner that benefits all people. Examples of particular common goods or parts of the common good include an accessible and affordable public health care system, and effective system of public safety and security, peace among the nations of the world, a just legal and political system, and unpolluted natural environment, and a flourishing economic system. Because such systems, institutions, and environments have such a powerful impact on the well-being of members of a society, it is no surprise that virtually every social problem in one way or another is linked to how well these systems and institutions are functioning. As these examples suggest, the common good does not just happen. Establishing and maintaining the common good require the cooperative efforts of some, often of many, people. Just as keeping a park free of litter depends on each user picking up after himself, so also maintaining the social conditions from which we all benefit requires the cooperative efforts of citizens. But these efforts pay off, for the common good is a good to which all members of society have access, and from whose enjoyment no one can be easily excluded. All persons, for example, enjoy the benefits of clean air or an unpolluted environment, or any of our society's other common goods. In fact, something counts as a common good only to the extent that it is a good to which all have access. It might seem that since all citizens benefit from the common good, we would all willingly respond to urgings that we each cooperate to establish and maintain the common good. But numerous observers have identified a number of obstacles that hinder us, as a society, from successfully doing so. First, according to some philosophers, the very idea of a common good is inconsistent with a pluralistic society like ours. Different people have different ideas about what is worthwhile or what constitutes "the good life for human beings", differences that have increased during the last few decades as the voices of more and more previously silenced groups, such as women and minorities, have been heard. Given these differences, some people urge, it will be impossible for us to agree on what particular kind of social systems, institutions, and environments we will all pitch in to support. And even if we agreed upon what we all valued, we would certainly disagree about the relative values things have for us. While all may agree, for example, that an affordable health system, a healthy educational system, and a clean environment are all parts of the common good, some will say that more should be invested in health than in education, while others will favor directing resources to the environment over both health and education. Such disagreements are bound to undercut our ability to evoke a sustained and widespread commitment to the common good. In the face of such pluralism, efforts to bring about the common good can only lead to adopting or promoting the views of some, while excluding others, violating the principle of treating people equally. Moreover, such efforts would force everyone to support some specific notion of the common good, violating the freedom of those who do not share in that goal, and inevitably leading to paternalism (imposing one group's preference on others), tyranny, and oppression. A second problem encountered by proponents of the common good is what is sometimes called the "free-rider problem". The benefits that a common good provides are, as we noted, available to everyone, including those who choose not to do their part to maintain the common good. Individuals can become "free riders" by taking the benefits the common good provides while refusing to do their part to support the common good. An adequate water supply, for example, is a common good from which all people benefit. But to maintain an adequate supply of water during a drought, people must conserve water, which entails sacrifices. Some individuals may be reluctant to do their share, however, since they know that so long as enough other people conserve, they can enjoy the benefits without reducing their own consumption. If enough people become free riders in this way, the common good which depends on their support will be destroyed. Many observers believe that this is exactly what has happened to many of our common goods, such as the environment or education, where the reluctance of all person to support efforts to maintain the health of these systems has led to their virtual collapse. The third problem encountered by attempts to promote the common good is that of individualism. our historical traditions place a high value on individual freedom, on personal rights, and on allowing each person to "do her own thing". Our culture views society as comprised of separate independent individuals who are free to pursue their own individual goals and interests without interference from others. In this individualistic culture it is difficult, perhaps impossible, to convince people that they should sacrifice some of their freedom, some of their personal goals, and some of their self-interest, for the sake of the "common good". Our cultural traditions, in fact, reinforce the individual who thinks that she should not have to contribute to the community's common good, but should be left free to pursue her own personal ends. Finally, appeals to the common good are confronted by the problem of an unequal sharing of burdens. Maintaining a common good often requires that particular individuals or particular groups bear costs that are much greater than those borne by others. Maintaining an unpolluted environment, for example, may require that particular firms that pollute install costly pollution control devices, undercutting profits. Making employment opportunities more equal may require that some groups, such as white males, sacrifice their own employment chances. Making the health system affordable and accessible to all may require that insurers accept lower premiums, that physicians accept lower salaries, or that those with particularly costly diseases or conditions forego the medical treatment on which their live depend. Forcing particular groups or individuals to carry such unequal burdens "for the sake of the common good", is, at least arguably, unjust. Moreover, the prospect of having to carry such heavy and unequal burdens leads such groups and individuals to resist any attempts to secure common goods. All of these problems pose considerable obstacles to those who call for an ethic of the common good. Still, appeals to the common good ought not to be dismissed. For they urge us to reflect on broad questions concerning the kind of society we want to become and how we are to achieve that society. They also challenge us to view ourselves as members of the same community and, while respecting and valuing the freedom of individuals to pursue their own goals, to recognize and further those goals we share in common.

Dear Mr. Zookeeper. The ONLY reason I suggested to not quote the bible, is that you really don't know who it will offend. I personally don't care. I'm a devout Catholic and proud to say that I am. I go to church most sundays, and yes Bono and The Edge, and Larry are deeply religious, I read that u2 almost wasn't U2 because the three thought that it conflicted with the Rock and Roll life style. I also believe that is why they are still together,i.e their beliefs. It's because they believe that there is a greater being. It shows in Bono's actions, in his career, as well as his family. It takes a special individual these days to stay married for 23 years and be in the intertainment business. I kind of relate to Bono and his relationship with his wife since my husband and I have been married for 22 years. I read a lot about his early days with Ali and they remind me of my "salad days" so to speak.SO, I repeat, I don't care about you quoting the Bible, but I think you may offend some. This is just a suggestion. I don't have to google anything about it since I know there is a whole book about U2's lyrics and the Bible, I would love to get it and read it myself. There are several Priests that like to use U2 in their homilies also. On your other topic, "the common good" my mind is a bit frazzeled to comment. Are you sure you are in Sales? sounds to me that you would be better suited as a professor somewhere teaching ethics and such. Was your question about the Madrid photos directed at me? If so I have no bloody idea what you mean. You really need not be mean to Soulcat. She is a smart cookie. Are you looking for more problems?I'm not sure how the songs are configured for the pod yet. We haven't started them. I think this is a special deal you can get with the purchase of the U2 ipod. I think you can down load the whole thing with other mp3 players, but in the U.S. it is about 150.00 dollars, I think that is why you get the 50 dollar off coupon in the box. Go to itunes.com and see if you can get them. Since Apple Computer is here in good old California, it is a snap for us, not sure about going to FNAC. Ahhh I remember that place. In Paris there was never a place to sit and look at the books like you can here. Went once and got frustrated. We went to Virgin records a lot.Well zoo-keeper, I look forward to yet more insightful comments :)

Hi Zoo-keeper. First of all, I really liked to read your comments. I didn’t want to start the discussion all over again, but you are the first one here who writes a lot of things I have been thinking for some time now. Sometimes is seems that "fanhood" is based on the behind of Bono and not at all on the music this band has been making. I didn’t write that down, because I don’t want to offend people and it’s not really my business what everybody is fantasizing about. And I don’t think it’s causing Zoo-keeper sleepless nights either. So be my guest, keep on going. I just couldn’t resist to add a few teasing comments ;) (But I really do like plains spadefoot toads ;))I’m picking up again some hostile vibes here. I must say, I don’t see the provoking and disturbing things others see in Zoo-keepers comments. Criticism can be very insightfull. I think it is true that the one who never changes his opinion in his life, can never have been learning much. Only the ones that keep on clinging to their own thoughts and are not willing to listen to what another one has to say (which of course is not the same as giving in) are the real losers on this earth. And as far as the Bible quotations go: I’m not religious myself, but I don’t see how quoting the Bible could offend people. If it does offend people I would like them to explain to me why that is. There hasn’t been written anything corrupting or bad about these texts, has there?

Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are even incapable of forming such opinions.i stepped over the mark though ( and went off piste ) during the unsavoury spat with SoulCat. it was wrong and disrespectful.anyway...in todays Guardian ..www.guardian.co.uk...there is an interesting article on John Lennon in which the journo incorporates a paragraph or so about BONO...this is what was said: Among today's pop stars, Lennon remains one of the touchstones of greatness, both as a songwriter and social commentator. U2's Bono, lead singer of the biggest pop group since the Beatles, and one of the few contemporary rock stars to run with Lennon's notion of the rock lyric as slogan, as a catalyst for capturing, then igniting, the public consciousness, acknowledges him as his prime influence. 'I remember listening to the Imagine album when I was 12,' he tells me from a car en route to a U2 concert in Madrid. 'It changed the shape of my bedroom, it changed the shape of my head and it changed the shape of my life. It just widened the aperture so much it was as if I was seeing the world for the first time. I learnt off the lyrics to 'Just Gimme Some Truth' and that, in a way, was the template for all that followed.'What Bono admires most is 'that daring-to-fail courage that often backfired. Even though he had a mouth full of spite and spleen, he always had a deep vulnerability and a huge heart. He was a true artist insofar as he wasn't afraid to fail.'when Bono talks about Lennon managing to get into his bedroom, into to head and be able to change the shape of his life...thats what i felt like when i heard Achtung Baby...i played my LP so much that i wore out the grooves....and through the constant playing of the record...my mum even got to know the words to all the songs...it was the "sound-track" of my formative years....these days however, i'm fairly big into the darkness of POP - its the album thats fighting for airtime in my car right now...if you haven't played MOFO and then Do you feel loved at high volume in a while ...i suggest you give it a shot...they really do ROCK...bye for now

I think Zoo-keeper can make all the comments he wants, but that doesn't alter (sp?!) the fact that I'm most certainly in it for the music, but that doesn't stop Bono from being an attractive guy.. and if you can't talk about stuff like that, we might as well crawl right back up the arse of puritism, and live in a wooden box.. and I think my thought's on that are similar to the rest of my "air heads" friends posting on this site. I'm not gonna get het up about it, because, to be blatant, i don't give a flying f*ck about others opinions of me, unless they're someone who counts. "the ones that keep on clinging to their own thoughts.. are the real losers on this earth" if you can't hold on to your own beliefs, what else do you have? just because you choose not to change your opinions, it doesn't mean you weren't listening to anyone else's.. I'm gunna save the world!God bless :)

Dear KATyou go right on ahead and give it laldy about BONO and the rest of the band..their sexiness or otherwise is of no concern to a hetero guy who's at this forum for other reasons...you are clearly not interested in my approval and why should you be ? this is not about me....(and for the very last time, i have appologised for using words such as "air-head" because it just wasn't right ). however to verbal sanction and bully all posts ( most notably mine ) which were not in accordance with your cliques' view of the band and the raison d'être of this forum - i considered to be below the belt. as you so elloquently put it...if you can't hold onto your own beliefs....what else do you have ? i couldn't agree more...throughout this whole episode, there is one thing that has struck me most..and that is that several members of the forum has shown a systematic failure to recognise the fact that another person who doesn't share the same views as you can be an equally devoted fan. i remind you once AGAIN...this whole thing kicked off about COEXISTANCE....i feel i have made a provision for that and accept your points of view...i also respect them. your outburst ( tamed by deletives ) proves that you have NOT managed to accept in an adult fashion another U2 fans point of view and i find that saddening.so, if you don't like what i have written, perhaps you can just ignore it and talk between your friends ( those with whom you feel comfortable )...but for the grace of god..please refrain from sending viscious responses to me...ZK

ZOOPER-man, (I like that Soulcat) I don't know what it is about you,but your comments seem to insite people, not in a good way. When you talk about Bono and U2 in a positive way, it seems hollow. To me it seems like you just want to flex your mind muscle and even that does't come out right. I"m in a weird frame of mind right now, so forgive me, but I really think you should lighten up. I'm with Kat. I did say that all of us has talked about their music and their ideas to some extent, but this site is fun and not too serious. Maybe you should create your oun site and You and Laura can wallow in all your thoughts. You may find like minded people and then you will have a swell time. I constantly ask you a question and you seem so self important that you don't comment. Was it you that asked me how I got tickets for the price that I did? If so, where it the comment. Then you mentioned something about Madrid photos. I see you as one self obsessed person as it stands right now. I really don't know if I will answer or make any more comments on your posts anymore. My choice, I guess, others can feed your flame if they want, but I think I want off your little ride for now.

I can fully accept at that are as much a fan as anyone here, but I was just rather unimpressed to return to discover you'd been unreasonably rude to people that I consider to be friends, which, yes, you've apologised for (I'm sorry, I hadn't read that bit when I posted before.. how foolish of me), and i'm sure everyone appreciates that. The only reason that I'm passing comment now is because I've been away for 2 weeks, and missed all this exciting action, lol.. there was nothing viscious in what i was saying, and i was talking more to Laura than you. and as much as you'd appreciate me not refering to you ever again, i don't feel that being patronising towards me was a nice thing to do... and if you ever fancying witnessing an untame outburst, I'll gladly share one with you.. and i know you probably don't care, or want to hear it, but I had to grow up very fast, and would probably be in some kinda mental institution by now if I couldn't manage to accept things as petty as this in an adult fashion. So, get saddened if you like, but don't do it on my account, i'm accepting your point of view.. take it easy

And to you Laura, just because we talk about how super hot they are, doesn't for one minute diminish how they as a group touch our soul when we here there music. As you can see by how most everyone on here is irritated, they are in agreement that this site is to have FUN and if you want an all intellectual site and not comment on Bono's back side then maybe you and ZOOPERMAN can build your own site. One more think to you ZOO man, we really don't expect you to go on about their apperance, but like I said above, your "positive " comments on the band seem hollow and the comments seem more in favor of you trying to be "Mr. itellectual" cool guy who just wants to over examine the music so it becomes like a classroom. I once took a Spanish poetry class in University with a professor who did this. Tore it apart and analyzed sooooo much that I hated the class, hated the poetry and hated him in the end. So when you are on here over anyalyzing and coming up with all you do. It grates on the nerves so to speak.

Hey Kat. Maybe I wasn’t clear enough, but you are twisting my words now, in a way I never wanted them to be twisted. Sure, keep on hanging on to your beliefs as long as you feel that’s the right thing to do. I admire that in people, for it takes a strong personality and backbone to do so. What I meant is that it is foolish to keep on clinging to your own thoughts and never be willing to think them over again. It doesn’t meen that you have to change your opinion all of a sudden. A person who is criticising your views might, unexpectedly, have a point. Basically, I think that’s what you meant as well. I just want to make clear that with my previous post I certainly didn’t mean that you are a loser if you don’t change your views on everything once in a while. And I certainly wasn’t referring to anyone on this site, for you sound very defending like I attacked you. I was just speaking in general.I agree immediately that this site (which I really like for these amazing pictures, which take me back to the 16th of July every time again :) ) should be fun. But I think a discussion merely adds something to this site, rather than it being a disturbing factor. Discussions don’t have to be hostile. Is there a constriction that you can only paticipate on commenting on these pictures if you like to post comments on Bono’s various body parts? As you might have noticed, I stayed out of (most of :) ) those “discussions” (and I think Zoo-keeper did as well), because I didn’t have anything to add to them. If there is a discussion about their music (which I desperately tried to start a couple of times, though it didn’t last), political engagements and so on, I might have an opinion about it, which I like to share. So what’s the fuzz about? Again, I don’t see a problem.
From: zoo-keeper on 2005-08-14 22:16:53
stirring trouble was not my bag...and i never saw it going this far.this will be my last post. your views as to what "is" and what "isn't" fun / acceptable / interesting etc to read on this site is quite frankly over-baring and a form of intellectual sanctioning and bullyboy tactics. i truely believe that this ultimately proves my point...that you CAN'T COEXIST with others....you've all but kicked me off this site by asking me to go elsewhere....i leave this site for my own reason...i chose not to waste my time with people such as yourselves. COEXIST....too exotic for this FORUM.

Finally, we can all be shallow and fun now. I'm almost convinced that Laura and ZooKeeper are one in the same. Their tone is so very similar. Maybe Zookeeper has a split personality. What I find funny is that Zookeeper never wanted to get to really know any of us. All of us on here know a little bit about one another and the converstions have gone in other directions other than U2,and I think that is why it was so fun on here. Notice everyone how I was the one that called truce, then he never said ok, until I asked him. Then I tried to engage a convo with him about being Scottish and living in France, but no go. Then he goes on to talk about other things without ever engaging in anything . So good ridence to bad commentors I guess. Laura I guess you will have to go to Nice to have a more intelligent converstion than on here. But if you really are Zookeeper, then I don't know what to say. :)

Zooper-man was taking a bit of skin off Bono for not being more original.....well yes being unoriginal because he lifted a few dialogs from the most over paraphrased book on the planet....so thats where the ribbing on my part (kitty raises hand) got started.....now fanny and Oct have there own story on that....*by the way kitty waves to u2-babes* and Laura if you wanted more than a dunk in the hot tub why didn't you just ask? *those little green fellows are slippery devils* ...ggrrrBut just like I said to Zooper-Man ...once you take a certain road and people tell you what they think there's no going back and you may not like what folks have to say.....

Well, I didn’t read that in Zoo-keeper’s lines. And I don’t think he was actually accusing Bono for thievery, because he’s quoting the Bible. Personally I think this kind of quoting adds something to lyrics, rather than being “not original”.I’m perfectly aware of that people might disagree with me when I’m having an opinion about something. But that’s the charming part of discussing, don’t you think? Discussing is, in my eyes, a way to communicate (and probably even to enrich your views) and definitely something different from a row.

I'll have to say soulie, I was a bit dissapointed that ZOOman left in a huff. I don't think he has to change his thoughts or anything, I do think he should re-read his comments before he hits enter though. My husband and daughter have been enjoying the slugging match and my husband had him pegged from the begining, he by the way loves all your comments Soulcat. I feel like I have all these witty things to say and they don't come across, then I read your comments and I say to myself,"yes, that is what I ment." So I really agree with all of your comments. The whole religion thing is always a touchy subject, I told him that it may offend. I am a very liberal person and say to each his own and let people believe in what they want without judgment. Bono and company does this very well in their music, kind of enjoying their own faith, and not beating it over the head of others(some may disagree with this though). Enough of that!! It is kind of early so here I go again with my thoughts not fully pulled together. Coffee.....coffee here I come. So, Zooman come back and throw all your bantering around so we can all have fun.

Well Laura to put it bluntly though i'm still trying to sort out your convoluted message......yes he was accusing Bono of lifting and thats not to say Bono doesn't lift because that was never my own personal bitch (brazenly guilty of worded conspiracy's...ooops confessions of a retired muse!!!) it had to do with taking pokes at originality and where one draws the line on those perimeters...(boxing an artists in ...watch out for the right upper cut hunny!! ).... I'm not sure what your given language is but I take it, it's not English? And By the way you do extremely well so please don't misconstrue me....I totally envy bi-lingual folks but there could possibly be a few subtle nuances that are slipping by you here.....I love Bono's lyrics just as you say and he can lift evoke emit suck up spit out anything his creative mind feels up to doing....my bitch was never with Bono's art or how he goes about creating and expressing it hun.....my bitch was directed in another entire direction and for a good reason....I suggest you go back and read the post because i really don't like to have to keep explaining to you why I respond to him the way I do.....he knows exactly what I'm talking about....and I don't need an interpreter (nor I imagine does he) telling me what he's saying...ok.. ;)) ..... Just as Oct pointed out there are a number of sites that are devoted to bible quotes and Bonos lyrics and the inside out twisty tie of them all and there significant meanings....now those are some sites that probably really could get to ripping it up if somebody wanted to stir up some long buried ashes....*kitty covers mouth before the wind blows her way*........say Oct could you pass me a cup of jo I think I need it!!!!.....*salutes Oct's hubby and waves to daughter* ...thank you for the kind words but I must say Oct just like your given name your words have a tendancy to be much more dignified more proficient and definatley more mature.....I'm afraid I have a tendancy to play in the mud and not feel a damn bit guilty about it.... *kitty's face turning bright red underneath all the hardening clay*.......hihii......grrrr

Yes, in a previous post I already pointed out that English is not my first language. And make it tri-lingual ;)I read the comments and might interprete them in a different way. And because I didn't understand your reactions on the Bible-quotations, I asked if you couldn't interprete the same words in a different way. Apparantly not...ok then...Don't have the feeling that you are forced to explain stuff to me if you seriously don't want to. But if you want, you're welcome to do so of course :)

Hey Laura You are taking a smug tone on here wich really makes me think that you are Zookeeper in disguise!! What is your first language? Just curiouse, because it would explain a lot to me. I too am Tri- ligual. If English is not your first language, as you said, you probably will be missing a lot of nuances on here. So, becareful in what you say,or you will insite another riot.
From: Laura on 2005-08-17 20:24:52
Hm...I think it's not easy to write English like me if English indeed is your first language. And if Zoo-keeper would use another name, wouldn't that one be a U2-correlated name as well? And the first things I posted wouldn't make any sense, would they? Maybe we've just got the same sense of humour. Don't take everything so seriously :)I won't keep repeating myself that I'm not looking for another riot (which is not the same as stopping to poste comments ;) ). But that doesn't meen that I still didn't change my opinions on which you obviously disagree. Oh well...so be it...I was born and raised in The Netherlands. My mother (who is from Germany)thaught me German first though. I got some influences from my Italian father and family who lives in France as well, but unfortunately I don't speak those languages properly. Just the usual couple of sentences you need to survive over there...:)

who's weird Al?
From: Laura on 2005-08-18 15:20:02
Weird Al Yankovic is a guy who's making parodies on famous songs. Like "Smells like Nirvana" (= "Smells like teen spirit"), "Which Backstreetboy is gay" (= "I want it that way" or something like that), "Like a surgeon" (= "Like a virgin"), "Fat" (= "Bad"), "Can't watch this" (= "U can't touch this") and so on...I don't like everything he has been making, but some of his lyrics are great.

Even if a particular train of thought can be twisted so as to end in ones favour, we will find that we have been strengthening in our patient the fatal habit of attending to universal issues and withdrawing his attention from the stream of immediate sense experiences.perhaps he cannot be like the others....a pure spirit. Whilst the cat was preening herself up and down and turning her frock inside out...spinning on a silver dime ….the keeper tended to his chest rug and provided a bit of spit and good ol elbow greese to his shiny gold medallion…..he's just trailer trash... rolling in an Aston ...the temperature was rising in the locked in room….and as he sat on that parquet floor behind the big black door …he saw the key slowly turning and he knew that the ebony & ivory tinkle show was soon to begin…..as the last breath of smouldering Lebanese gold seeped into the system he was sure that he saw her drop down her locks from her mutli-story hair house cum wig; silhouetted against a dark and edgy baroque influenced mural, and invited him to “climb on up” into her ivory tower to listen to her play. This was no stair way to heaven….and we weren’t going up in an elevator either….but he mused that he didn’t get VERTIGO and being lifted to a higher ground may very well save him from that mischievous mistress the Queen of Hearts….and all her sweet bubble gum sugar pop tarts….rapping out to the tune of GR and LuddyVB sounded like an exploratory trip into the DNA of where our taste for tune & melody was born - it must be worth the detour….keeping one step ahead of the Barber of Seville would be important though….it could mean an aesthetic chop for the Puddy Cats hair "peace" ….and a long way back down to the ground for the Keeper…he would have to catch a flight of fancy with the next passing fallen angel otherwise….LooCfur on speed dial.... was So we get on board….that’d be me myself and i. Shimmy to the top….but whats this…..a second pair of hooting eyes blinking back at me - straight in the headlights…and there’s a strange tribal chant….what is this ? who am I ? how did I get here ? WOW….this is a big operation. The puddy cats’ got company and my mind starts to wander…the rapping / the chanting / the crossed buns..the parlour game…wheres it all going? Gotta use it or lose it. Float back in time….and imagine.. John n Yoko in bed – this dreams’ begun flowering….its about a musical journey of love and peace – golden showering…so I introduce myself to the owl and the pussy cat….i’m all out at sea….and the rollerblade babe …she winks back at me…..content now to know that I’m not ovulating – maybe we can move on and get back to debating?zk

If you truly listened to all those tunes, albums, there is no way you made it out the door at a decent hour.Unless you were talking about one song per artist. Neil Diamond?? OKProvence is so similar to California, that it really surprised me when I went last summer. Of course it had all the cute Villages and cool French people though, and of course the food is a bit different. In the part of California I live in, you can find some great French food from all regions. So, when I get sad about leaving France, I go up to Napa and have wonderful meal. You are lucky to live in such a beautiful area though.Oh and by the by, where is U2 on the list above? They should be included right?
From: zk on 2005-08-22 12:05:57
yeh....its one song per artist....its usually charlie ( the better part of me ) who loads up the tunes on the computer and then we pump them out through the music system set up through the house...its rather cool - you can adjust the sound in each of the rooms.... - she says that my guests don't come round to the house for to particiapate in a U2 athon so, we try to keep it catholic in taste anyway, it turned out just great. super weekend... interesting that you compared Provence to CA....i agree, you know i've visited Napa, Sonoma, Russian River & Santa Barbara ( as well as the cities of San Francisco, LA, San Diego ) several times over the past 10 years...its a shame that i'm not currently able to get back over. business opps are taking me east rather than west these days.

I was going to say!! That was one hell of a list to get through in an evening. You would have to be alone and sick on the couch listening to all those albums and even then you would be asleep half way. We have been loading up the Ipod this weekend and it seems to be quite interesting how apple products aren't that compatible to regular pc's! my daughter has a mini i Pod and we have a library of her songs on here. When my husband canceled some of hers that we didn't want on ours, it was disregarded and all of he albums went on ours!! There are a few of hers that I could do without, especially Beyonce!!! Not sure what you ment when you said "we try to keep it catholic in taste?" No offence taken or anything like that, just wondering what you ment. Trust me I won't launch off on a religious debate. :) your evening out with friends sounds delightful,we spent all weekend in the car driving to see family. Brother in law and wife had a new baby, and on my side of the family my nephew had his 2nd b-day. Both sets live in the Sacramento Valley. Did you enjoy our fair city,SF? I think Napa specificly reminds me of Provence. We had a French exchange student here for three weeks, and we took her to Napa. She was floored how much it reminded her of the south of France. My husband was born in Sonoma county,so that is a special area for us. How did you like southern Cal compared to Northern Cal? I was born and raised in the north so I am partial to the north and I think the only part of the South I like is Santa Barbara. That is it though.

Oct: to have a "catholic taste" in something such as a genre of music or literature is to have a comprehensive, wide, broad, general, ecumenical interest in it. its about being inclusive rather than exclusive.i've gotta go....i'm driving up to Geneva today...the road is going be very busy. i have an appt at 14h00. i'll be listening to a new band out of liverpool called AMSTERDAM...check em out and stick em on your ipod...they are great. top tunes: "does this train stop on merseyside" and "Joes kiss". both songs are infectiously good. have a nice day.

That is quite a drive isn't it? How far is it from your area? I have a friend in Geneva who owns a contemporary art gallery. Haven't seen her in years though. Thanks for the heads up on the new band, I will check them out. Sometimes I really miss MTV France, since you get to see some really unusual groups on there compared to the U.S. Thanks for the explination on" Catholic taste" I've never heard of that. Hope you had a sucsessful trip.

the trip up to genève was about 6 hours long..( just under 500 kms ) ..with the end of les grandes vacances the roads are chocka block with holiday makers leaving the coast...not fun. as it turns out, it wasn't MTV where i picked up the info on the new band called AMSTERDAM....no, it was on the BBC's Radio 2 "sessions" programme that i was listening to over the internet where i heard for the first time "Joes Kiss"...they played it live ...it was great. John Peel ( a liverpudlian ) the guy who has been famed in the UK for discovering some big bands over the years and giving them their first air play reckoned that they were the biggest thing out of liverpool since the Beatles and the most exciting band in UK rock n roll for the past 10 years. of course John Peel died about a year ago whilst trecking in PERU ( RIP John ). he meant so much to so many music fans...he was like a spiritual musical leader to a generation. teenage kicks! i gotta go now its approaching 9 and i've got a meeting downstairs in the lobby....back home tonight.

Hey zk, I just looked up Amsterdam on the net and I will check our book/record store to see if they are out here yet. Is there a way to hear a sample on the net, if I can't get it here? We have an international section, but who knows. Sorry I didn't clarify myself about MTV, I didn't think you heardof them on that, it is just that I missed MTV France and was comparing it to ours here. "Back in the day" when MTV was just videos, it was fun, now it is non stop reality shows. In France I thought they had a better balance of the two. Here you have to have MTV hits to see videos and MTV2 for Rap/hip hop (which by the way is not my cup of tea) and another MTV for other music. ANYWAY, I don't like ours here and it was fun watching unusual French videos and videos from other countries. The one thing I noticed with the French videos was a lot of them included water in one way or another. We use to laugh at how many had incorporated water in them. Hey I forgot to ask you, Are your parents both Scottish and you guys just up and moved to France, or is one parent French? Do you still have family in Scotland? Like I said in another post above, I love Scotland when I visited last year. The food there was soooo much better than the neighbors to the south :)

thnx for the message OCT:///how you doing tonight? ...anyway, in answer to your question...my ma is from Dundee SCOTLAND and my ol man was from liverpool ENGLAND ( he was a student at the Liverpool Institute for Boys...2yrs younger than George & Paul...2 lads who played in a local scouse band called the Beatles..you may have heard of them ?)...my ol man told me some great musical stories of his years in Scouseland aka LIVERPOOL growing up in the 60's ...most of them interestingly not connected to the Beatles...seeing them at the Cavern became common place...his greatest stories were of nights when he and Barry "Cashcard" Cashman would go out for a few pints and go see jerry lee lewis, bo didley, cream ( the first super -group...eric clapton, ginger baker on drums and glaswegian Jack Bruce on Bass ) pink floyd, Them ( Van Morrison ), Aretha Franklyn, BB King, Buddy Holy, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGee, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Crosby Stills Nash n Young, Hendrix, Louis Armstrong, Fats Domino, The Kinks, The Stones, The Beach Boys, The Byrds, Canned Heat, Steppen Wolf, Johhny Cash, The Spencer Davis Groupe ( Stevie Windwood giving some lovin )...the list goes on...it wasn't uncommon to find some of these great acts playing in Da POOL the same night...such was the scene on the Mersey back in the days when Everton were kings of the KOP and the Reds only played in the 2nd Division...but then my ol man walked... he walked out of liverpool having busted up with my grand-dad; his dad ( the then deputy mayor of the city ) and he got in a Citroen 2CV and drove it all the way to the khyber pass in Afghanistan...(it took him over 9 months)....where it gave out...and he pushed the ol rotten motor over the side of a roadside cliff with the help of some old moutain men who shared the lebanese gold and the iron bowl with him...i've got pictures of them sitting in their caves smoking, talking and re-building kalishnikov rifles..my old man being a man of peace took no part in the rebuilding of arms...but i got the pictures......the story doesn't end there...but this ain't the place to tell his story...it ain't my story to tell...but it sure brings a tear to my eye...so back to music..i remember as a kid we'd lie flat out on the living room floor - head 2 head and we'd listen to music for hours....we'd talk - mostly in english, but sometimes in french or in german....we'd read, and we would also just be. i'm not sure where this was going OCT so i'm gonna go instead....i'm just back in from a long journey back from Genvève and on Friday i fly back to Scotland for a wedding...take care

Very cool story about your Dad. I love hearing about other people's adventures. I know what you mean about not telling the whole thing, since it isn't your story. My mom is Panamanian and my Dad is Canadian, there's a story right there, but my mom's is even crazier and makes for a great read. If you have ever read Gabriel Garcia Marquez novels, you would be in the same genre of my mom's surreal life. Her family has a website with the whole family tree, since her family is the decendants of General Fabrega, who was sent from Spain to set up shop so to speak. If you google the name it will come up. Anyway,Your relationship with your dad sounds good ,listening to music and reading sounds great to me. We did that with our two daughters too.Just got out of the car after listening to Achtung Baby......Love it.Do you like "Travis?" I have a couple of there cds and we listened to them while driving in Scotland, so now I have good memories of it. Some songs are good, others....well. Daughter wants on the computer so bye ya.

Well I just finished reading this entire series of posts, top to bottom and I must say I have sincerely enjoyed it. I enjoy discussions like this and even though they do get heated and out of control, you do get many insights which I like. I am a really open-minded person about stuff like this so as I said already, I enjoy it quite a lot. Several topics struck hard with me and I've spent quite a while thinking about them, understanding them then coming back and seeing a post by someone else to contradict or challenge it, which makes me think even more because I have to weigh the two against each other, consider each point the two are trying to make. I really like that. I hope no hard feelings came out of this discussion. It's really interesting how everyone started out as people with two differing opinions, progressing through more seriously different stages then in the end wound up as friends. Even though we can't always handle or listen to things in a mature, adult way and we can't always work it out between ourselves, we can always find things that we agree on and become friends at some level. I hope we all remain friends. It's better to be friends than enemies.Hugs from Sushi

She is using parts of your comments and guitar lingo. Wish I could go to Scotland right now. Crummy summer.....no vacation time and now school is in full swing. Hubby is in France on business and I'm even envying him right now, since he go to go somewere!! Next summer will be different!!!!!!!!!!Hey do you see yourself living in France forever or possibly going back to the U.K.?

trips back to Scotland for weddings suits me...here is where my heart and mind is....i'll not be moving back to Scotland. why bother? your hub is on biz and your kids are back at school and you haven't had any summer hols...thats just too bad....i'm sure that you'll get a special pressie when Mr comes back from his travels. he should have good weather while he's here though..looking forward to hearing sushi's tune....but where do we tune into to hear it?zk

I don't think Sushi has it recorded yet ;) Funny you should mention hubby bringing back goods from France. He is always a good sport about it and gets the loveliest of things. I also have favorite magazines that he gets for me and other goodies,so that is the only upside of him going on business back to France. Also, the frequent flyer miles. Right now we have 8 round trip tickets on Air France. So, I will be going with him soon :) I don't blame you for staying in France, I think I would too. The standard of living in France, I think, is a bit better. Sorry any U.K. People out there. France is very comfortable and family orientated. Doing business with them is another story though!!. No place is perfect, but Franch has a lot to offer.

Yes, right now my husband is over in France fixing problems that should not have happened!! When we lived there and he had everything running smoothly despite them not listening to him and undermining every step of the way. Now the IT section is in a shambles and they are screaming for him to come back and stay in France for two months to fix it. Luckly his boss nixed that idea. But he will be going back at least two or three more times during the fall. We should have stayed there one more year for him to tie up all the loose ends, but the company didn't want to pay 24,000 euros for my daughter to go to school there. I guess I don't blame them, but now they have messed up the whole thing and lost 2 million euros over stupidity. I love the French, but I don't like the "it is impossible" mantra!! Oh well, keep racking up the frequent flyer miles and I will have free airline tickets for a good long time!!!What kind of a company do you work for? If you don't want to say, it's ok.

heh sushi...sounds great...but how are you gonna get the tune onto the puter and avail for us all to hear? heh, not to be one to spread gossip, but i heard on the grapevine that the Soul Cat is working over-time so that she can take some time off to go and see the band reherse in TO later next month...it may not be true? but, heh, sure would be fun to go and check them out in prep for the 3rd Leg n'est ce pas?as for OctU2...the IT firm would have no doubt made a saving by sending your dearly beloved to school huh ? would have worked out cheaper...but when do bosses ever listen to those who know best heh?down here on the coast, we are having another scorchingly beautiful day...big shout out and song of solidarity to all those who have been hit by the hurricaine along the Gulf Coast...the big K sure was a monster...à plus

Well, I just depressed myself by looking at photos of the area that you live and of Paris. I miss France a lot, and you are one lucky devil to live in the area you do. Still not sure how you have carved out a job in an area that seems like a tourist mecca!? We have simmilar weather here in good old Cali as you know, and San Francisco looks stunning today!! Nothing like the view of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Marin headlands on a clear summer day!!! My husbands company is notorious for taking forever to do things and exremely quirky!! They fit right in to the French culture. The only problem is that my husband is a perfectionist and more Anglo than he want to admit,so sometimes the two do not mix. He does work very well with other cultures though and prides himself in learing all about the cultures he works with. He has to work with the Asians as well as the Europeans and he seems to know all the upsides and downsides to the whay they do business. I have too much latin blood I fear, and would have blown my stack several times over, and been fired for sure. That it why I will stick to being an artist. There is one person who posts on here that goes by the name of lalatoots that is from Louisiana, I hope He/she is ok. They thought that the French quarter of New Orleans would be ok on Monday, but over the night the levee broke and has now flooded the old part of the city. Hopefully they will be able to fix it back up.

Hey zk, I forgot to ask you if you like R.E.M? I also just saw the new Cold Play video for "Fix It" not too bad, but I had a whole other one for them in my head.

I think I can put it onto iTunes and convert it into an mp3 (I have no idea how to do that =S but I'm sure my mom can help me with it, she's a tech wiz) and get it onto a website somehow so you guys can download it and listen to it... BTW if anyone knows how to do this help would be greatly appreciated because as I said before I have no idea how to do this but I'm sure it's possible... =)REM is awesome!! It's the end of teh world as we know it and I feel fine... =D Working overtime to see the boys rehearse, huh? Ok that sounds cool! I wish I could do that... and go to a thousand different concerts but of course I don't have the money and the nearest concert to me on the 3rd leg is in Portland... =( but if I get superbly spectacular grades in school, be super helpful and super nice, I may be able to convince my mom to buy some tickets... muahaaa! I was so mad, I can't believe U2 didn't win anything in the VMA... Green Day's vid for Boulevard of Broken Dreams doesn't make a lick of sense, he says "i walk this empty street" but he's walking on a busy city street with a bunch of people and cars around him!! I don't get it!! Vertigo was infinitely better than Boulevard of Broken Dreams... GRRRRR!!! =(oh well... *pouts*
From: Octu2 on 2005-08-31 01:48:58
I think REM and U2 are my favorite bands by far. My test of a good band is if you can still listen to it and it doesn't sound that dated!!! I think the Beatles are like that also. Don't even get me started on the VMA awards. In the middle of it, my sister called me and asked if I was watching,She was having a good laugh too. First off, i'm not a rap/hip hop/Rb fan. So, the show in my eyes sucked in a big way!!! It use to be a great time and the presenters were fun too. I think u2 should have won for best group video. Didn't you hate how they anounced the group video award at the pre-show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????That was one of the two that u2 was voted for. I like Greenday , since they are Bay Area Boys. I loved what Billy Joe said, "Nice to see that Rock still has a place at MTV" Amen to that. Seems like I turn that thing on it's all rap etc....And what the heck was up with giving the award to Kelly Clarkson over Gwen Stefani???? Unless someone else hosts it next year I think I will pass on it. U2 had the right idea by staying in France relaxing and not going to that lame thing!!!
From: sushi on 2005-08-31 01:58:45
Oct I like your band test, good idea!! U2 should've won a lot of stuff, Best Special Effects, Best Group Vid, etc... I think they shoulda won everything they were nominated in! Everything made perfect sense, and... GRRR!! I'm stopping now before I kill someone. O.oI do like Green Day, but just not the vid of theirs that won a lot of stuff. I really like the song, just not the vid. Argh. Yeah Amen to Billy Joe... I don't like rap. Or R&B. Grr. KELLY CLARKSON AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRGHG!!!!!! THEY GAVE THE FRICK'N AWARD TO HER?!!! OMG!!! Gwen Stefani's was WAAYAYYYAAAAYYYY better! *screams* yes good job boys for staying in France... France is good, better than the stupid, messed up VMAs. Grr.
From: Octu2 on 2005-08-31 02:12:04
I bet they will at least be at the Grammy's. I know they already won one for How to dismantal....but you know how they sometimes overlap and they are there again for the same album.

lots of respect for REM...i've seen them a bunch of times...i guess the most memorable was just after Bill Berry had is brain hotwired by some annurism...and he came out of hospital in Switzerland and played Murrayfield in Edinburgh...it was a great concert! that was during the Monster Tour - i guess that it must have been back in the summer of 96 if i'm not mistaken. great live band...difficult to decide which was their best piece of work...but i guess i'd have to plump for Automatic...it endures. as for U2 and awards...they'll sweep the floor with best live act next year...( i doubt that old rockers like the Stones or Macca will manage to push them off the top prize )..heh, anyway, has anyone else noticed the very similar opening bars and string arrangement to Crumbs and Electrical Storm....and through the mid section of City Blinding Lights the guitar sounds very like the mid section of Electrical Storm...any thoughts / comments?AND..any thoughts on why the band haven't played CRUMBS or E STORM during the tour so far? neither sound over-complicated to play live...at least not any more so than Miss Sarajevo or Original of the Species.one of my all time favourite tunes played live (outside the obvious classics) is "Trying to Throw your arms around the world"...first time i ever saw it was on "INTERFERENCE FROM ZOO TV" which was aired one night in the spring of 92...i can't remember the date....its one i'd love to see them play again...i wonder if we can judge the quality of their albums on the number of songs they included from each record on the corresponding tour...ie: Joshua Tree tour: 10 songs ( on average from the album ) Achtung Baby ( 10 songs on av ) Pop ( 8 ) ATYCLB ( 7 ) Bomb ( 9 ) ? hey, it doesn't really matter and i'm not getting geared up to go off on one and bang my drum about Achtung again...but, seems to me that its the album that has; over the piece, held together the strongest during the live shows to push their latest studio release...( i never heard them play So Cruel or Acrobat )over to you guys....and WHERE is Soul Cat?
From: zk on 2005-08-31 11:23:34
eratum: number of songs per album played on corresponding tours (all legs included ) should read as follows:JT: 9.0 songs // AB: 10.6 songs //POP: 9.25 songs // ELEV: 8.6 songs //VERT: 8 songs. funny to see that POP scored second highest....and yet it was commercially considered to be a flop more than a pop...heh,i'm sitting here thinking to myself that this number crunching is a bit sad...there must be something more interesting to do, or to be talking about...i best go..before i send the forum to sleep....

It's funny to read what you said about "Trying to Throw your arms around the world", for many people I know aren't that positive about it. And it's not one of my favourite songs, too. Maybe I should listen it more often. I don't think I really get that song. I had the same thing with some songs of REM which I appreciate very much by now. I saw them a couple of years ago (couldn't go this year, unfortunately). In the pouring rain and they were playing "Shiny happy people". So great to see the smile on the faces of your friends and just feeling happy to be there :)
From: zk on 2005-08-31 16:48:19
i gotta be careful how i put this cos i don't want my well intentioned take on "Arms around the world" to be misconstrued...But i always saw it as a kinda dysfunctional love song.. the story of a roguish kinda lad out on the lash all night coming home early in the morning with a banging headache, empty wallet and sweaty clothes from partying all night....he checks back into his place to find his adorable girlfriend snuggled up in bed...he see's her..and she's so beautiful, serene, cosy, prescious...sh's a rock..he loves her, he needs her, he wants her but he doesn't understand why she puts up with his late nights, early mornings...h's a mess...she could do better. it doesn't add up, and it doesn't make too much sense, and yet it works....a balance in their hearts and minds is struck and their love goes on...a sexy kinda number...BABYFACE off Z€€ROPA is also stacked full of sex appeal too..nice to hear from you anyway Laura...come back with some more if you're around..over and out: zoo-keeper

I just downloaded the version of Joes Kiss. Too bad the quality of the recording isn't very good. I wasn't able to find a "real" mp3 file of any of their songs yet (I already tried a couple of days ago, but then gave up). A band to keep an eye on, I would say.I just listened to "Throw your arms around the world". I think I mistook it for another song (I never remember titles of songs). But in that case I don't have a clue which song I was thinking of. I always liked "arms around the world"...partially for the famous quote "A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle" :)

Wow look how many hits this picture has(2487) I think everyone is gooving on our comments.ZK , I will have to give another listen to "Crumbs" and Electrical Storm. I loved that song when it came out. It has good memories for me, since it came out when we were living in France. I loved the video...It is amazing how Larry could pull off the Sexy dude in the video at his age!!! I have been trying to hear Amsterdam, with no luck and I haven't seen it here. Have they been on Top of the pops on BBC? I might be able to see it on there maybe?I'll try their site. ZK do you watch BBC Prime in France? That channel was a hoot!!! Some of the stuff was super nerdy, but most times it was pretty good. I love how the BBC does documentaries. No one does it better. Also you can't beat British humor, I don't think. We Americans try to copy some of England's stuff, but it never plays out well. One of my favorite shows was "The Office" We have now copied that one and surprisingly it isn't too bad. Hey Laura, where have you been?
From: zk on 2005-08-31 20:30:08
hi oct...television is so interesting and educational....as groucho marx once put " every time someone turns the television on i go into another room and read a book"...but seriously, yes i do watch BBC PRIME over here in Frog from time to time, some of the documentary series (SAS Survival) / (Human Body) / (Living Planet) have been really good. during the summer months though, most of my time is spent outdoors BBQing with mes amis, swimming, biking and sunbathing...thats when i'm not earning a crust you understand...as for brit humour...well, its been over the years the subject of many cross cultural debate hasn't it...without getttin bogged down in all that, i think its fair to say that the pure sense of the Brit Humour either needs to be accepted for what it is or not at-all cos American make overs ( The Office ) / (Falty Towers)just doesn't work...i guess like most things incl MARMITE...you either get it or you don't. don't even get me started on frog tv / radio / humour...thats one septic tank of worms i don't fancy opening..as for Amsterdam, they haven't hit Top of the Pops yet...they've made it onto several BBC radio stations and their play lists...but you ought to be able to download direct from their web-site...i'm surprised that you hven't managed By the way, was that Larrys' Anne in the electrical storm video with him...i seem to remember a story suggesting that he got his other half a role in the video...perhaps i'm wrong....you know first time i heard EStrom was when i checked into the Novotel on 52nd Street NYC in 2002 (around mid october ) - i got up to my room; it must have been around 22h30 and i swtiched on MTV as i often do while i unpack my gear and swig a bottle of suds from the mini-bar ...and bang ...Electrical STORM....the next day i went out to buy the single and a NEW YORK t-shir à la John Lennon to remember that moment by...heh, you take care....bye for now

I have no idea where Soulcat is!! I'm starting to get worried that something sinster may have happened ;( Naw, I think she may be busy with work. She is a writer remember. I hope she comes back soon because we all miss her wit. French TV is pretty sad I must say,but not as bad as Italian TV and German TV. There are a bunch of cool shows here in the States, but in the summer I usually have stacks of books going by by bed side. I loved SAS survival! I always got sucked in watching. I liked some of the cooking shows from BBC even though those poor devils have such terrible food. I'll keep trying with Amsterdam. I really wish we Americans would not copy the British shows becuase you are right, you either get it or you don't, and you just can't duplicate it. Being that my Dad is of British decent and has that kind of humor, I get it. I love how the French in general don't get their neighbors at all. I read an article in the International Hearld Tribune, where they polled a bunch of French people and asked them which English speaking country they looked to for there source of the English language and it was a high percent that said the U.S.A and not their neighbors. I thought that was very interesting, since most of them use a lot of British terms though?? Go figure!I saw Electrical Storm for the first time in our swanky temporary Apartment in the 16th (Paris) Seems like yesterday :( Wow, thousands have now died from the hurricane. They are now saying it is the worst in U.S. history next to the 1906 earthquake in San Francisco. I'm thinking it will be our turn next for a natural disaster. I was living here when the 1989 one hit. They are predicting a much bigger one next time :( On that Day my husband left early from the city, and missed getting trapped by only 20 min. on the Bay bridge!!! I don't even want to think about it.Wow Ingrid you came on here 2,000 plus times :) I'm sure people see the amount of comments and get curious to see why, then when they see how nerdy we are, they take a hike.

did anyone get a hold of a copy of the SYCMIOYO cd single which features the U2 dads? i've been looking around for it down here in frog but haven't had any luck.also, was wondering if any of you guys have picked up any bootlegs from a guy called Antoine based out of Montreal...he's got a good website that is called u2liveinconcert.com and i'm wondering what you thought of the quality of the CD's ?any comments / observations would be welcome.anyways, those poor folks down in the Big Easy aren't doing so well huh ? i fear that there is more sad/bad news to come on this nasty story...the last time i was in SF..i was due to work for the day with a girl called Staci.. she picked me up from the Admiral Hotel where i was staying and we went next door to pick up a cofffee...the day was so beautiful that i asked her if we could play hookie and skive off work..blow the day off so she could give me a personal tour of the great city...we had a fab day, visited the Coit tower then went cruising out over the GG Bridge and looking back over onto the city, having smoked a ciggie in the bay..she took me through Pacific Heights, Haight Ashbury, down Lombard Street and back into Chinatown before we headed out over to Alcatraz...what a beautiful city..and a fabulous day we had...we topped it off by spoiling ourselves on a bottle of Billecarte Salmon Rosé in the bar at the Hyatt...can't wait to get back over!one final thought...i miss da puddy cat...BRING BACK "SOUL CAT"

As you can see by my name above, I'm trying to get the attention of Soulcat or her roomate. She said once that her roomate kept her up to date when she was away once,so I'm hoping that she will see this. Everyone is missing her and she better get her butt back over here!!! I haven't seen that single, but I may go looking for it. Try Amazon, or did you do that? I don't know anything about the bootlegs also. I tend not to bother with them. Sounds like you got quite a nice tour of our fair city. The best month to be here is September, because S.F. gets an Indian summer and it is so nice. As far as "The Big Easy" , If things could not get worse, it rained yesterday on them!!! The stories I have been reading in the papers made me so sad. Especially the people that got evacuated into the super dome. There was the worst kind of human behavior possible!! Our paper said there were even children getting raped there!! Sewage, humdity,no lights etc. This morning they are all standing around the super dome trying to get bused out. Then this morning someone shot at the military helicoptor that was trying to help them. It looks just like the tsunami did. Thousands have died and yes things no doubt will get worse. Everything from the oil off shore, and just the fact that it is a major port for the United States. Logisticaly, they are having one devil of a time evacuating those people, since all the roads and bridges are wiped out. Scary and very sad.

Wow, lots has happened in the ONE DAY that I've been gone... o.OWow, I heard about Katrina.. nuts!! I can't imagine what it would feel like if you were named Katrina, and then you heard about the hurricane... Rape?! In the Superdome?? WOW... aren't they evacuating people one at a time, with helicopters?? They should bring in some frick'n huge yachts!! There was a fire in the harbor the other day, one boat caught on fire and the whole marina burned, fifty boats... they said the boats literally BLEW UP. You could see the smoke from Tacoma. I can't imagine living in the hurricane area... Everywhere I've lived its been a high earthquake danger zone, and we had a huge F1 tornado in Utah once... but never hurricanes. Or tsunamis. Of course we could get a tsunami here, but we're so deep into the Puget Sound, we're at the very very very very end of the Sound. It's so far into the land that I don't think we'd get much more than a ripple from a tsunami. There is a big fault underneath Seattle... and if we got an earthquake there it might trigger some sort of lame, wimpy, shallow-water tsunami. ...... does anyone like Spongebob?

"holy japanese rice crackers" Sushi girl...i dig your turn of phrase....one line you are giving us all a very interesting geography lesson and then next thing we know you are asking us whether we like Sponge Bob...i gotta hand it to you...thats pretty hot stuff...as it turns out, i don't like sponge bob...but here's the reason why...in french he talks like a tit...same as Homer & Marge Simpson..i just can't stand the simpsons in frog ! not having heard the original voices...conversely, having never been a big fan of ER in Britain, i got into it ( i won't go into the reasons why ) in frog and now hearing all the REAL voices of the actors ( when i'm back in blighty or over in north america ) is a strange thing...anyway, when it comes to cartoons, i guess that i'd have to say that Battle of the Planets was my favourite...then, Dungeons and Dragons was pretty cool too....i'm more of a Bugs Bunny kinda guy than tom n jerry and i also thought Popeye was kinda spesh too.well here we've got one helluva nice day ..and its just gone 08h00...its gonna be a hot one...i'm hosting a small soirée later on today...gonna do some spare ribs on the BBQ and crack open a bottle of gevrey chambertin ..i'm pushing the boat out so to speak...the 2nd September only comes round once a year after-all.on a U2 note, another couple of songs that i haven't heard them play and would love to see come back into the set is "SECONDS" and "HAWKMOON"....they maybe wouldn't work so well live ? qui peut dire? here's a question for you all...if you could fly anywhere to go and see the boys play live where would it be ? answers to the effect of having the band come and play in your own living room are discounted...although i often have a dream that this actually happens to me...check you all out laterzookeeper over and out

OK ZK, before I forget one more time, I keep wanting to ask you if you have ever heard that super weird radio staiton that starts out during the day and most of the evening as classical music, sometimes jazz, then at mid night it switches to experimental music? I think it is 91.7/92.1 France Musique. One night it was on in my bedroom and it truly sounded demonic!! My daughter and I were so scared when we heard it!! It is everything from things talking backward to weird animal noises. I'm a big time Bugs Bunny fan!! AWW you don't like "BOB a la Mer?" I agree with you when they dub the original, it is very stupid sounding. My youngest daughter liked "Smallville" here in the States and was so excited when she saw it on one of the stations there. The excitement went away when she heard the nerdy voices with the characters. We do however call the main actor, Tom Welling, "AVEC Tom Welling" that is his new name :)Ok, I will say nothing to the fact that you like Dungeons and Dragons ???????? In the States if you were into any of that you are and automatic NERD in a big way. But that is ok, because, my hubby liked it for a short time also, but we don't talk about that momentary slip of his coolness.:)Wow, that is a tough question you asked, about where you would like to see U2 play. Let's see, given the photos I have seen from the Europe shows, I think I would fly to Italy, since they seem to be so passionate. I did laugh at the pictures of the Paris concert. It looked even more mellow than the ones here. I think I will have to think on that one a bit.Peace out.

Wow, I didn’t visit the site for one day…now there’s so much to comment on…:)Isn’t Murphy’s law the one which says that everything that can possibly go wrong, will go wrong…a rather depressing thought…I always thought “A woman needs a man, like a fish needs a bicycle” is a quote of Gloria Steinem…though if you google it, it appears that no one knows where it exactly came from. O well, I like it anyway :)I was born and raised in Delft, a pretty city between Rotterdam and The Hague. I still live there, though I’m spending most of my days at the University of Leiden (a very nice city as well). Hi Oct, I’ve been pretty busy last couple of days. Though I read the comments almost every night I just didn’t have the energy (and the required inspiration :) ) to answer.Electrical Storm really is one of my favourite videos of all times! Another one of Anton Corbijn’s masterpieces, if I’m not mistaken. And there is a very nice documentary about this video on the DVD as well.Does anyone knows why roadrunner looks like some kind of ostrich in the cartoon? I was a kinda shocked when I was visiting Joshua Tree Park and saw a “real” roadrunner for the first time :S

Holy japanese rice crackers... I like that... LOL... zk have you heard my favorite phrase?? Ok here we go... HOLY MACKEREL WITH LEMON SAUCE AND BASIL!!!!*falls out of chair laughing*LOL zk you are so funny lololol "one line you are giving us all a very interesting geography lesson and the next thing we know you are asking us whether we like Sponge Bob... i gotta hand it to you... thats pretty hot stuff" You have NO idea how that made me laugh!! *dies*We watched Spongebob when we went to Mexico, his voice was pretty stupid. But his voice is pretty stupid anyway xD but I understand completely! Never heard of Battle of the Planets or Dungeons and Dragons, but i recognize the name. Bugs Bunny is hilarious, hehe I'm such a sucker for Tom and Jerry and Popeye...WOW zk I would love to hear Seconds, not Hawkmoon tho. I'd rather hear something like Ultraviolet, TUF or Twilight! *dances* Twilight, lost my way twilight, can't find my way... Fly anywhere to see the boys. Ouch, bad question. I dunno, I'd say Ireland or Italy, two places I've never been but would really like to go. France would also be nice too, we drove through it once, at night, on a weird highway with nothing around. Why does France's cars have yellow lights, other European cars (or at least German cars, I dunno about the rest of Europe) have blue lights, and American cars have white lights? Weird. o0Aww, zk you're gonna "check us all out later"... I'm flattered!! xD lolI was telling my friend about the ES video the other day, I told her that Bono was in the back of a FedEx truck. She told me I was on restriction from vids with people in the back of FedEx trucks, lol!I dunno laura, what does a roadrunner look like in real life? I like the roadrunner... Except that he always beats the coyote. Ironically (sp?) enough, my school's mascot is the coyote and our competing school's mascot is the roadrunner. o.Ozk I've done lots of traveling too, been to Hawaii, Mexico (as far south as Acapulco), Germany, France, Holland, Luxembourg, Lichtenstein and Switzerland, momentarily. We were trying to get to some other place, and we accidentally somehow ended up in Switzerland lol! I was laughing the whole time I watched the Slane Castle thing with Eve.. LOL!! Bono was so funny! *cracks up* It was verry sweet, liked it alot... I thought some of Edge's kids had been onstage sometime? Can't remember when, I just picked it up randomly somewhere. My brother is threatening to kill me if I don't get off, apparently he wasn't finished with what he was doing >.< And I'm super dehyrdrated, I need to drink some water... I've been putting it off cause I can't find my Seaworld cup!! I have to have my Seaworld cup to drink water!! *runs in circles looking for Seaworld cup*LOL Talk to you all later, hugs!!

can i understand that Sushi Warrior doesn't like HAWKMOON? heh, thats a good tune! check this out...there is a chinese resto a couple of clicks down the road from where i live...and they do great DIM SUM & NEMS & SAMOSAS....and they do some good chow mein dishes too....i'm in there often ...when i can't be arsed to cook and Charlie ...well, she can't cook won't cook...so, they've come to know me quite well at the "red dragon" - very original name for the resto - and i'm better known to them as the DIM-SUM kid...so, maybe the Dim Sum Kid should draw his chops on the Sushi Warrior and have a pan asian food fight? what say you Sushi ?didn't you know that the yellow lights on frog cars are soooo passés...heh, you gotta keep up with times ...yellow is so old hat!going back to topic of food...i actually eat quite alot of mackerel...its high in OMEGA 3's..very good for the heart...and fighting cholesterol...although, not so good if you are onto a promise...cos it leaves your breath smelling worse than a king prawn trawler rotting in the hot Louisianan sun-shine....i like M served with a mustard sauce...by the way what the heck does LOL mean?until the next time our chopsticks cross! this is zoo-keeper checking out...back later

ZK, appologies for calling you a nerd. I miss understood about the D&D thing. Here in the States, there were a whole group of Nerds that actually had parties where they acted out D&D and it was a big nerd cult thing to do. I didn't know they had a cartoon of it. So, you are officially off the nerd list. My husband and I are big time wine drinkers also, and hubby just came home with several smuggled bottles of the good stuff, along with chocolate and macroons from Laduree :) He also brought back some Goose grease for some of my French recipes!! You never said if you listened to that radio station that I wrote about above. I have to know, since it is so freaky. Did you happen to eat Chinese food here in California? I was so disapointed with Chinese food in France. Nems are vietnamese, and all the curries they add are not Chinese. We never found a very good one there. Since we are part of the Pan Pacific we have the real stuff here by regions of China, and since my husband goes to Asia a lot, he can tell which is which to compare. I didn't like how they said it was chinese, but everything under the Asian sun was on the menu. (also no Mexican food)So, you like to cook and your girlfriend doesn't ? Is she French? That doesn't seem right if she is. Although i do know some French people that don't like to cook. Oh , my second place for viewing U2 would be Amsterdam, especially after watching that video of the guy picking up Bono like a rag doll!!Hey Laura, I went to Delft last year and LOVED it, almost more so than Amsterdam. We were there when one of the Princes got married. There were orange balloons everywhere and at the city hall there were beautiful flowers . I actually bought a beautiful Delft vase in the main square. It is pretty small as your fine Delft ware is quite pricy. I made sure to get it from the most reputable and did all the reaserch to not get ripped off. I love it. The main square with the neat compass in the center is cool. You are lucky. I really liked Haarlem also. Franz Hals is one of my favorite Dutch painters,so we had to go to that museum there. Don't care for Rembrandt though. You don't want to get me started on that topic!! I wrote a whole paper on it. I think the road runner looks like a coukoo bird too. I liked the coyote though and always hopped one day he would catch the roadrunner!! Does anyone remember the episode on bugs bunny where the guy finds the talented frog that sings? Then when the guy wants to show everyone he clams up. That is my favorite.ZK have you ever seen the movie "Napoleon Dynamite?" There is a funny character on there that says Peace out. Funny stuff. You must find Napoleon Dynamite at your DVD store. Very cultish kind of film and very off the wall. I love werid movies like that though. In the words of "Kip, Peace out

Hi Oct, glad to hear you liked Delft. I prefer it over Amsterdam as well. I think it’s because of the size, a city like Delft is not too small and not too big. Everything you need is right under your nose, you can reach everything within 15 minutes by bike and on Friday and Saturday night you are very likely too meet a bunch of friends somewhere downtown. Amsterdam has very beautifull sites as well, but I always get lost there :SYou are from California, right? I only was there for a couple of days. Right after Joshua tree park we visited Palm Springs and L.A. for about two days. Way too short of course. After finishing high school my parents took me for a trip where we first visited New York and Washington for one week (I’ve got two aunts living there) and Utah, Nevada, Arizona and California for another two weeks. When travelling like that I get so much new impressions and they follow eachother so quickly I really had to keep a journal. I hope to get back there soon. So much to see around there. San Diego (and especially San Diego Zoo) is high on my list.

Hehe ZK I do like Hawkmoon I just wouldn't want to hear it live, I think it would throw off the vibe of the concert somehow... Pan Asian food fight?? WOOHOOO!!! The Sushi Warrior grips her weapon tighter as she peeks around the corner. She spots The Zoo-Keeper dashing between several hiding spots, trying to get a better view of his opponent. The Sushi Warrior ducks behind the boulder, takes a deep breath and loads her weapon, readying to fire. She peeks above the rock, spots The Zoo-Keeper, aims, and fires. A six-inch bullet of peanut sauce flies from the spoon and smacks him directly on his unsuspecting nose, followed by several quick volleys of tofu and lemon grass. She ducks back to reload as some General Tsao's Chicken flies overhead, landing on the toe of her white court shoe. She sighs and turns around, flipping some fried rice and Pad Thai in The Zoo-Keeper's direction, but is suddenly hit in the arm with a blob of nori seaweed. The Sushi Warrior yelps with disgust and ducks behind her boulder as chow mein, tempura and miso flies in volleys, landing with a SPLAT close to her legs. A whistling sound startles her and as she looks up, an enormous wad of rice paper smacks her in the face. She growls and says, "All right Mr Zoo-Keeper, if you want to play that way, I can play MY way..." She unwrapped her secret weapon... sushi. She piles as many sushi wraps as she can into her spoon and aims carefully at the back of The Zoo-Keeper's head. She makes sure her aim is perfect... and fires. The sushi flies through the air as gracefully as sushi can in a beautifully perfect arc, smashing directly where it was meant to: The Zoo-Keeper's head.Never mess with The Sushi Warrior. xDOh... yellow is so old hat. I didn't know that. This site is SO EDUCATIONAL, YAY!!I don't think I've ever actually had mackerel o.O Haha you know what's worse than mackerel-breath? Garlic-farts. Yes Laura the spadefoot toad... I was about to press "Add comment" when I remembered that I forgot to put in the spadefoot toad =O!! =PZurich, Switzerland.. always wanted to go! I hear the Swiss have quite the hand for making chocolate... Belgians too... *flies to Switzerland and Belgium* Dim sum verses sushi? Well my friend I can answer that for you, no question!! SUSHI WINS! We made some sushi last night, raw stuff (my mom is a raw foody) it was frick'n the heavenliest sushi I've ever tasted... we made rice out of jicama, replaced the fishy filling with avocados, sprouts, shiitake mushrooms, beety ginger and julienned cucumbers then rolled it up inside dried nori seaweed, dipped it in soy sauce and topped with a bit of pickled ginger.. we used way too much rice the first time, we could hardly fit the filling into the seaweed o0 but then we reduced it to a bit less, then a bit less, and a bit less, then finally got it perfect... the problem was that the rice was too wet so it soaked straight thru the nori.. sogginess notwithstanding, it was still incredibly tasty! Yep, me is twelvey, in the seventh grade xD Seventh grade rocks, its so much fun... nobody expects anything of me and I'm perfectly comfortable, halfway through middle school and going great! The sixth graders are expected to learn the ropes and set expectations for the fifth graders, and the eighth graders are going on to high school and are expected to set the expectations for the rest of the school... but the seventh graders are overlooked (thank God) in any expectations! We don't have to set any, and other than getting good grades and obeying the rules we don't have to follow any!! =PMy birthday is Dec 7, Pearl Harbor Day o0 I have strange luck =)

For my key-lime loving dad we made a key lime custard sort of thing that tasted like avocado BLEURGH and then there was lots of salads yummy yummy.. and some other stuff... but I'm too lazy to remember it xD

Zk 4 the pussy cat...first of all welcome back..not quite sure what you mean by your one line message à moi.....you say that i gave myself away...i agree..i have done so from my very first post....and for that i endured the wrath of those who couldn't accept my point of view. so? lets not go back and revist all that again. anyway its great to see you back on the forum but i hope you haven't "really" gone bald - having to live with hair loss isn't such a cool thing...i should know, my grand mother told me all about it....but if its true...then can only hope that the quality of your writting was better than your post cos otherwise....i have to say that i really don't think hair loss was worth it. perhaps you can put it down to fatigue? qui peut dire? ...as for me sounding, talking, posint like someone else....well, i'm at a loss as to what to say....I like coincidences. They make me wonder about destiny, and whether free will is an illusion or just a matter of perspective. They let me speculate on the idea of some master plan that, from time to time, we're allowed to see out of the corner of our eye. BTW....big hugs and a wet slobbery kiss goes out to edge...he looks so good in tight jeans and his sneakers...ooh..suits him...don't you think.

Wow, what a site for sore eyes to see your name on the comments Soulcat. It truly isn't the same without you here. I hope you got everything done that you needed to do. Do you really think that ZK is RR? Is that who you think he is? I thought so for a bit too,but the more and more I read on RR it didn't fit right. I would love to know where you think he gave it up. They do write very simmilar, but I can't figure out why he would be in the south instead of in Paris where RR said he was. Also RR said a lot of stuff about himself and bosted on many things about meeting musicians.Zookeeper doesn't give much away about himself and doesn't seem to writethe same as RR. I could totally be wrong though. Also I can't figure out why he would change his screen name and not be as colorful. Give me a clue Soulcat!!! And to you ZK convince me that you are not who Soulcat thinks you might be.And to the americans on the site, U2 will be on NBC tonight for the Katrina concert at 8:00pm pacific time.

Kat wasn't Rhoney supposed to send you tickets but never did?? If so I think that's why he changed his username, he missed this site so much but didn't want to take Kat's wrath... \=|Umm... I think you guys didn't get the fact that ZK was teasing us when he said BTW Hugs to The edge......etc. He is just trying to be funny. I like the "Suits Him" I liked that skit from the BBc show "The fast Show" The two tailors that would say weird things and then say it suits you sir. Hey ZK did you ever see the one with Johnny Depp? That was a good one. Also, Did you ever get into watching "The League of Gentelman" That show was one of those creepy British shows that you were kind of scared to watch, yet you had to since it was soooo odd.Are you back from Fish land ZK? Did anyone watch the NBC hurrican concert last night,Friday? Bono started singing "One" then Mary Blidge came out and sang the rest while Bono played a bit of guitar. Wish he would have sung the whole thing.

Hey by the way guys, I decided not to get that package deal that came with the i Pod. I looked up what was on it. Actually I had to google it because Apple wouldn't let me. There was a person from the UK who detailed all of what was on there and I decided not to go for it. I don't think I want to hear six different versions of some of the songs. The person also did an evaluation of how they did it and they seemed pretty fair. I'm also skeptical to buy it and lose it on the computer somehow and not have anything to back it up. So, I will just put the ones on that I have and slowly put the other ones on. You can get the albums at a good price on Apple. I think they are only 9.99 dollars. So, that way you can have what you really want on there and not a ton of remixes. My husband made the point to say that maybe the rare 40 that are on there, might be rare for a reason. Thinking they might not be so great after all. Who knows, I think most of the rare ones are live things that never got released etc....Anyway, I'll be with you Kat in not having them as a set ,and get them on there another way. After all that is 150 + dollars that I could spend on a new pair of shoes.Peace out....
From: Ingrid on 2005-09-10 18:50:53
shoes? who needs shoes? Can you buy the rare ones online by apple or so?and I'm not going to download any of the music, I want the real thing! here the cd's(except JT and AB) 10 euro each.. so I'll just buy them all I guess.. I'm still planning my bday party, so that will prolly end in new cds and maybe even dvds ^^ my friends know my music taste very well :p

Maybe you could do it that way, but I don't have a Macintosh computer and so far we are having a bit of trouble with the windows xp and the apple down loading the tunes. My daughter got a mini ipod for her birthday in March and all her songs and "Library of music is already on there. We tried to seperate it with ours and it won't let us do it!! So , I have some of her music that I don't really wnat on my ipod now. My husband is pretty good with computers and he is having a tough time trying to get the two set up. I think if you were to have and macintosh computer, it would be better. Anyway I just bought ZOORopa the other day and I want to get some of the earlier ones soon. Fro my birthday, I will get more or I will get the book by Anton . Can't wait to see that.
From: Ingrid on 2005-09-10 20:10:59
wow, anton's book... if you have a scanner, could you upload the bono and the fish shades for me? that ones soo great! I wish I could afford that book! hm I don't know much about the iTunes, but maybe you could create a new map and take your files into that one.. btw A friend of my sistter's here, and he works at mediamarkt... according to him the U2 iPod is about 70 euros cheaper than with apple, so that'd make it 270 euros! I am sooo close to my ipod nowwww I can't wait!

Who is out to get you now? I was just confused as to who Soulcat thought you were? I bought the Album" Zooropa." Hard to believe that you can get the u2 ipod cheaper where you are, since we have European friends who have bought theirs here because it is more expensive there. If you go on line to other places, it is the same price I paid. You can buy the i pods in other places here also, but I shopped around and the prices where exactly the same.

Hey there ZK, I had thought that you were on business, but after your last comment on people out to get you, I was starting to wonder. Did you read some of the reviews given on the first Toronto show. This is what I'm saying about the Americas. Seems like the boys pour it out, maybe not perfect, and they get bashed. I didn't see a lot of that in Europe as far as I could read. I am surprised at how short the set list was on the second night. Wondering if Bono and guys have colds? It is that time of year. I'm already out of the gate with a wicked sore throat right now,and if I had to sing for an hour plus, it would be a very bad thing. I always wonder how they do that on tour, when so much money is at stake and you have to get up there. Maybe that is why Mary Blidge sang most of "One" for the Hurricane concert. He could have been recovering or he still is sick. I'm so happy I got tickets to see my favorite violinist yesterday!!! She is only 25 and a real dynamo! She is performing at Cal Berkeley and I can't wait. Her name is Hillary Hahn. She has won many grammys and has been playing since she was four years old!! My youngest plays violin and will attend also. So, like I said in another post, I will go to a Punk Rock concert (Green Day) in Sept. then a classical concert in October, followed by U2 in November!! How diverse am I?? :)your girlfriend sounds like my older daughter and how she treats her husband on a normal basis. He does all the laundry and dishes, and she claims to do everything else. Last time I was at her place, it looked like nothing was done that she said she was suppose to do. What kind of work does she do? Peace out dude.
From: sushi on 2005-09-16 01:14:17
Peace out, yah man! w00t Oct I'm likin your new peace-y language xD I talk like that normally... I flash peace signs to everyone I see and say "Peace, dude!" all the time, haha! Anyway, Sorry I haven't been on a lot lately, my mom has been working from home a lot, with her laptop stealing our internet connection... =( We went shopping all day on Saturday, new clothes xD Yay! But here I am, I should be on a bit more. =)A kid at school was messing w/ my iPod, and when I got on the bus and turned it on, it FROZE. It didn't do anything. I did everything I could but it wouldn't do anything. I was about ready to go clobber him to death. But I went home, saw the article in the TIME mag about the new iPod Nano. I was as jealous as reason could let me be.. There's a brand new, super-sexy miniature sized iPod out for the same price as my iPod mini... and here I am, stuck with a bashed-up, scratched, faded and now frozen iPod mini. (I really shouldn't have complained like that, I feel bad about it now. The iPod was a birthday/Christmas gift from my aunt) Then I went to a youth activity group and got back at nine, at which time I told my mom about the frozen iPod... she told me my aunt bought a two-year warranty to go with it, and we could take it back. A looong discussion came afterwards about iPods, and the Nano came up... we figured out that the warranty would only give me an iPod of the exact same price. From the article, it seemed that the iPod mini had been punched off the assembly lines... and the only iPod that was the same price as mine was the Nano. =DDDDThere were several other scenarios, maybe I'd have to exchange my iPod for one of the store's leftover six-gig iPods instead of a Nano. If that had happened, my mom would take back her pink Mini (she didn't like the color) and exchange it for money, with which she'd buy the Nano. So... either way, I'm guaranteed to get a Nano!! *throws confetti* If EVERYTHING goes well, my mom will be able to get one too... if we get my iPod exchanged for a Nano and her iPod exchanged for money, with that money she can get herself a Nano.. and her current green iPod will go to my brother. It's a win-win-win situation, lolHope that wasn't too confusing.. =)Dudes...Peace. =P

From: Octu2 on 2005-09-16 19:11:14
I must say when I saw the new Nano i Pod I thought the same thing about my shinny new u2 Pod,but quickly said, hey, mine is pretty niffty and it holds 5,000 songs on it. So, I don't mind having the one I have. I was listening to mine last night as I thumbed through some magazines. I fell asleep to the Achtung baby songs and then woke up all startled when it was off. Here is a funny story to tell. Yesterday I was at Nordstroms,Sushi knows the store, and while I was leaving the store with my daughter,a whole episode of Cops was playing out right in front of me. I hear this cop yelling some kind of lingo and then starts yelling at the people to get out of his way. Well here he comes towards me from the back. Mind you I'm not at my best having a cold and all,so I'm trying to get out of his way and he almost knocks me over tying to run out of the store. It all seemed like slow motion as it was happening. When we go to the car outside, we see the cop helicoptor circling around the area. Can't imagine what the person did to merit the helicoptor search!! It seemed very out of character for this town, since it is kind of an affluent spot. Very odd afternoon yesterday I must say.
From: Octu2 on 2005-09-16 19:35:46
ZK I don't know which format of this site you are on, we all go to the elevation one since it is blue, but if you klick on Vertigo tour and hit the dates of the Toronto shows , there are regular people reviews and Major Paper reviews. Actually on the first night in Toronto, the press gave them a good review, but there were a couple of people that were not happy with the show. The other place for news ,that is fairly up to date is atu2.com. also on that same site you should click on achtoon. They are very clever cartoons of the guys. The best ones are the more recent ones that are done by a lady named Kay. shge includes her cat in some of them. I'm not into cutsy things, but that cat is cute, ans she does a nice job of not making it cheesy.
From: Ingrid on 2005-09-16 19:45:55
lol yeah achtoon abbyt is brilliant! I love it! but oct,.. your story, I didn't completely get it, but it sounds scary! ^^ and I'm goin for the U2 ipod for sure.. I don't want the nano.... only the name is allready better, I mean, U2 or Nano.. what appeals more... to me, U2 sure does!
From: Octu2 on 2005-09-16 20:00:49
What do you not get about the story? There was some kind of theft at this fancy department store and this policeman almost knocked me down trying to get out the door to catch him. He or she must have done something very bad to have the helicoptors circling above to find him/her. It is just out of place in this town since it is a wealthy community. Seems like something you would see in a big city. "Cops" is a show here in the States where they follow bad guys and you get to watch. Does this clear things up?
From: Ingrid on 2005-09-16 20:05:33

From: Octu2 on 2005-09-17 19:11:23
Ingrid, here is the true fact on why you are allergic to cats. It has nothing to do with their actual fur. It is when they lick their fur,the saliva(SPIT)dries. Then it comes off the fur and becomes air borne and when you inhale it that is the allergen. I know these things because I have lived with family members with severe allergies and have visited many allery doctors with them. There are special sprays you can get to put on their fur that makes it a bit better. You know Sushi, there is a "Hollister, California " and it is near Monterey California. My daughters friend from France was wearing those clothes when she came to vist this past August. She bought them here in the States. I really didn't know it was a surfing clothing line, and I don't think she knows either. But if you saw the actual town Hollister you would laugh. It isn't near a beach. So, I'm kind of confused why it is called Hollister. Do you know the history? I want to see the new Nano and see how tiny it is. I hope you can get it and tell us all about it.Peace out girlfriends

So you could see them if you take a cheap Ryan Air flight to Dublin and hang out there when they aren't on tour. Only The Edge has a house in California, since that is where his wife is from.

Zk what kind of business do you do to be going to those locations. If you tell, will it give something away you don't want? I'm starting to wonder. Sushi, POP is fun and I think they were overly mean to it. There are some good ones on there!! I saw the Nano over the weekend, and what I noticed most about it was how scratched the front was and they only released the thing on Monday or so in the Apple store. The outer part has kind of a plexiglass type of covering thatseems to easily scratch. They did however come out with some cute covers for them. I would buy one of those right off the bat,so it wouldn't get beat up!! It seems, for me anyway, a bit too small, and I would probably lose it. Did you decide if you are getting it yet?

ZK did you get to read the New York Times article yet about Bono and his Cause? Very well written. It is 14 computer pages long. As far as the set list for the North America leg. It does seem a bit different mood mainly I think because it is indoor. That is what I noticed about the European concerts from the reviews and the pics. It was a whole different thing. I think I like the energy of the ones in Europe better than over here. I'll let you know when I go to the concert in Novemer how them mood is.

I didn't like about "Pop" first, I was listening more about critics than my own ears but I have to say, that Pop is nowadays definitely one of my favorite U2-albums. Songs like Do you feel loved, Gone, Staring at the sun, Wake up dead man, Last night on earth... Surely the album is a bit darker than usually and more complex, but it's a great album and worth buying and listening over and over again... Never give a sh*t about the critics, just trust your own ears and tastes.... :)

No zk I don't have any Pop *cries* I can play Staring at the Sun, whee!! *strumstrumstrum* lolWeekend, the weekend was pretty cool, we checked out the NANO some more and I have decided to get it, we called some electronics store and they're going to send me a voucher and I'll send back my iPod w/ all its accessories... then about 2 wks after that my NANO will be here w00t!! My mom decided to get a white Nano and cover it with a skin.. I'm getting a black one, yay! =P I was pissed as hell the other day.. I got told off and sent to the counselor's office for something i didn't do.. and the people who got me in trouble are my FRIENDS, supposedly... I was really mad, I didn't talk to them for a couple days.. then i was listening to SIAMYCGOO (o0???) while walking to the bus stop and I stopped, looked out across the water (i live on an island and have to walk across a bridge to get to the bus stop a 1/2 mile away) and I realized I was being a total retard.. obsessing over something that happened in the past. After that I listened to Walk On and it really hit me then... I gotta get on with life and stop holding a stupid gruge about somehting that doesn't matter. I love U2... ZK I like their new US setlist.. they FINALLY OPENED WITH COBL!!! *screams and dies* In a Little While.. that oughta be interesting live, huh? =) and DISCOTHEQUE Oh my!! *boom CHA boom CHA CHA* lol.. I think they do rethink the setlist for indoor venues.. the mood is different indoors.. I suppose, I wouldn't know I'm just guessing =SIngrid FRICKN DEVIL I want to buy Pop i just am totally broke *punches the US Mint and picks up all the money that flutters out* lol I was counting how much money it would cost to get all the albums I don't have.. $50 sumthin dollars. Thats a lot. =( Jealousy, turning saints into the seaSwimming through sick lullabiesChoking on your alibisBut it's just the price I payDestiny is calling meOpen up my eager eyesCause I'm Mr BrightsideI'm on a Killers high right now ;)Peace dudes =P

sorry sushi... but maybe you can do what I did when I just started as a u2 fan.. aks your friend to down it.. and if you like it, buy it ^^ I'm listening to a bootleg of Slane castle.. it doesnt contain every song.. but I LOVE out of control there.. the speech of bono is witty: We're a band from the north of dublin called u2, and this is our first single, I hope you laaaaaaike it... and halfway: This is the edge, I don't know where we got him from...

Wow Sushi, that is a classic of all time, that kids have to learn one way or another, about friends. My mom always told me to watch people and their character.Sounds like those "friends" were weak of character. Hope you didn't get into too much trouble. All you can do is learn from your mistake. Hey ZK thanks for sharing a little bit of yourself with us,very much appreciated. I kind of thought you might be in something like that. This may dispell Soulcats idea about who you may be. If she ever comes back on here!!! WHERE IS SHE????? We are having our indian summer here in the Bay Area, and the lighting is simply sublime. I craved that light in France ,but it was never the same. Although I love France in the Fall!! There is a certain light here in California in the fall that is kind of unexplainable. The other two places with the most amazing light in the world are, Sweden and Scotland. Sweden is mindblowing in the summer. Needless to say I live for the fall and I'm very happy to see summer gone!!Peace out pals
From: Susanne on 2005-09-20 18:19:04
hmmm, if you like Sweden in the summer, you should sometimes also try Finland... It's pretty much same here. :)

ZK... Bouygues?? Funky name, lolIngrid I would do that except I have a strange obsession of not ruining the surprise... After what happened with ATYCLB I think I'd rather just buy it and like the songs the first timeIngrid a bootleg of Slane... so you don't have the Slane Castle DVD?? It's sooo funny live, the B does some pretty hilarious stuff ^^ Edge screwed up a chord at Slane during Staring at the Sun and then Bono dropped the mic.. get it together guys!! lolOct I was thinking the same thing.. I don't like it but I don't know how I can change it, if thats possible... ='(Oct my dad said that in California (or at least San Diego) that in June they have 2-3 weeks of grayish cool weather.. and they call it the June Gloom, and everyone gets all depressed... I laughed to death when I heard that, I think they should come spend a year in Gig Harbor, lol... Speaking of which, I looooooooooove Gig Harbor during the fall... sooo pretty! The weather is odd, though... it's freezing in the morning and broiling hot in the afternoon. o0 I kinda like it tho. OCT WE ARE OF THE SAME MIND CONCERNING SUMMER!! This summer was the worst summer in my entire life! Last summer I was depressed for some reason or another... and that sucked, I cried myself to sleep every night, but at least we did something during the day to take my mind off it, like go to the zoo or the aquarium or the park, or something fun like that. This summer our nanny got pregnant and so of course she didn't want to go anywhere or do anything.. and she decided she didn't have to clean up her mess (she made cookies almost every week but never did her dishes, her son made his highchair so dirty that there was mold growing on it and she didn't clean it up and she left her crap from home all over the floor... guess who had to clean it all up!!) and so aaaallll summer we just stayed in the house and got fat. I would've gone on bike rides or gone to friends houses but since NANNY got pregnant she hardly did her job, and I had to babysit for her.. >=[But school is finally here and I can finally see all my friends and I HAVE PE THIS SEMESTER W00T!! And its first thing in the morning.. even though you're kinda sweaty and smelly the rest of the day, having PE in the morning wakes you up and gives you this odd feeling of accomplishment.. "I did it! I actually woke up, got dressed and came to school on time.. and on top of all that I did the mile run in nine minutes!!!" lolWell I gotta go... my mom needs to be woken up so we can have dinner!! I will talk to you all later!HUGSPeace~Swooshi (xD)

Uh oh, here I am again, so boringly written book (is boringly even a word??).And ZK, sorry, I think I can't help you with becoming to the next James Bond...The reason why I'm reading is that I'm studying world history in the university of Helsinki, and our autumn term started three weeks ago, and now I have my first exam (on Finland's history, which is one of my secondary subjects) on Friday. So no glamour in that......
From: zk on 2005-09-21 23:20:17
oh....one mustn't think that there is no glamour in history....how else would we remember George & John, Franklin D & Winston C.., Lafayette, Plato, Hume, Satre, Descartes, Socrates, Pélé, Blanco, McQueen, Gallileo, Lenin, Newton, Einstein, Henry T Ford, Dickens, De Gaulle, Mao, Capernicus, Mozart, Brezchnev, Stalin, Kennedy, Macenroe, Beethoven....and perhaps most of all..Bill Sheakspeare...i was in Helsinki recently...i ate at the restaurant on the habour..."Sipili"....the onion restaurant...very good

Wasaaaabiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!! *dies of laughter*Boogies, haha that'd be awesome if it was pronounced like that, lol xD Me... when I grow up... I really don't know. I have nothing written in stone... rather its written in the sand. But I have a ton of ideas.. like a palentologist, a graphic novel artist/writer, a pro soccer player, a marine biologist, a scuba diver, a pro sailor, a teacher, and uh... a TV reporter or correspondent, or whatever they're called. I have a very diverse personality, lol I've also considered being NASA Flight Director, Director of the CIA, Director of the FBI, etc... I like animals and think it'd be cool to work at a zoo or aquarium, or.. if I were to do that my highest aspiration would be to work with Shamu, lol!! I love traveling so a job where I travel would be nice.. I have a very very very very very very very very small seed of rockstar in me.. lol, I want to play bass and drums and of course I already play guitar =) and everyone I know thinks I would be a fantabulous lawyer that all the famous people would kill to have at their back!! I would like to be on a debate team in high school... ;)But I still have quite a while to figure it out, luckily. I'm glad I don't have to decide yet.. Whew! =) All I have to work on right now is getting good grades and being a good person! Yay! ^^ZK Make sure not to be late for our little chopsticks appointment, lol =P
From: Oct2u on 2005-09-22 03:40:24
Well ZK you should apply for the CIA in the US and then you could be a spy. We always tease my husband and say that he is a spy. He kind of got this funny reputation of being a spy. We nic named him Boris the spy. Once he was at a book store looking at some coffee table books and this lady with a Russian accent walked up to him and gently laid her hand on his arm and said, "Excuse me are you Boris?" We laughed forever when he told us. The poor lady was probably meeting up with an internet hook up or something. Anyway, we started to call him Boris for a joke, and after that it stuck as "Boris the Spy" He travels a lot and people seem to not get what he does,so that is when we tease him and say that he probably is a spy for the CIA.HAHA Boogies. Isn't "Bougie" candle in French? or Boogies. I think that is the funniest name for candles!! I remember that company you work for. Do they do cell phones also? I think I remember them and SFR. That is the company I had. The U2 show I will be going to is in Oakland California. I believe Soulcat is going to that one also. She has tickets for both days!! I'll be going on the ninth.

poo nah nah! i missed our chopstix date Swooosh. sorry about that...had a nap this afternoon and drifted right into an early bath...i'm sure we'll cross stx sometime soon. with all yoru energy and excitement, you've given me some good ideas for a job when i grow up too....this Boogie biz isn't really all that great, but the lifestyle on the flip-side is just great. By the way Oct, bougie is; as you suggested, the word for a candle....AND Bouygues also sell mobile phones or cell phones as you call them in north america....the company is goes head to head with SFR as you mentiond...but the mobile phone sector is not my bag. well, I don't usually have much interesting chat but i have to say that i feel that when i've got to the stage of talking about telephone wars between Bouygues & SFR the "boring peoples balls off" alarm bell starts a ringing in my head. i have to say that i really have less than a nats ball hair of stuff to offer the forum right now ....so i'll be gone from here for a while.so you all stay safe out there in these strangest of times...if you see or hear from SoulCat...pass on my best "squidgy" wishes to her....to the only "swooooosh" in town bigger, better, faster, fitter with more tchatch than some guy called Nike i say keep rolling those rice dumplings and watch out for the wasabi warriors. see you Oct...enjoy the Oakland show. maybe you could say salut to the band for me from a fan living down in the sud de la frnace...hell they may even play electrical storm? that would be one helluva surprise. right then....cheeriozk

Well if it is a switch from ZK to having you back, there is no contest!!! He must be one little devil for you to not want to be on here with him,but I will leave it alone and believe you when you say you know who he is. Heck, you have been on here for ever. I don't even know who he is,but the way he writes and comes off is a bit stand offish. Not fun. That is it on that topic.I'm getting excited to see them also, and it is pretty close when you think that September is almost over. I don't know if you saw on one of my posts a while back, but my sister got tickets to see Greenday for my Birthday. Not my all time favorite band, but she wanted someone to go with,so I said what the heck. It is on the 30th of Sept. In Sacramento. I'll be bringing my ear plugs for sure. Hey Soulcat, my husband brought home this magazine from his last trip to France and there was a whole spread of Billy Idol sporting beautiful designer clothing and looking quite dashing!! I thought of you when I saw that!! He looks fantastic, pretty nice in them I must say!!!:)

Well come on now ZK, I have tried to engage you on many other topics and you ignore what I ask. I call that a bit standoffish don't you think. And I'm sorry but Soulcat and her wit and charm are so fun that if it takes you leaving for her to come back then Oh well. Look at your last post man.You said that since you were just talking about the difference between telecomunications and such then you were going to slip away for awhile. That is what kind of makes this site fun, people just hanging out and getting to know other obsessed fans and in the mean time getting to know each other in some way. You have engaged a little bit,but like I said everytime I asked you something you ignored it. It makes me feel like I'm bothering you in some way and not good enough for you to coment. I liked your story on your family and made a comment and asked you some questions and you never answered. That is when you were a bit more fun, when you told something of your self. But that was hit or miss. Bring more to the table. Soulcat is pretty sharp and if she thinks something is up with you and you gave yourself away, then maybe you should address it and be MORE convincing. I swear though if you are mean again and Soul cat leaves I will be sad. I love all her clever stories!!
From: Octu2 on 2005-09-24 03:25:34
Also you have to admit, if you have read Soulcats stories and comments then you should give her credit where credit is due. I think that is why everyone on here really likes her. I think the best way to fix this is to comeout with it if you are someone else. SEEMs to me that you are hiding stuff and your comments aren't convincing otherwise. yOu wouldn't have come back here if you didn't care.

Soulcat I know I said that I wouldn't bring up Zookeeper again and who he maybe, but I may shed some light into it. IF you think he is RR and he screwed someone over with tickets? Like I said before, I thought RR was from Paris distributing wine. This guy ZOOKEEPER works for a company that I am familinar with in France. Please let me know if this is not the direction you are going and I will let it rest. I think the only similarity is that they are both originally from the UK. Sorry I'm obsessing on this, but he did behave himself for a while. He does need to get over the "Coexisit" thing you are right Soulcat, who signed a contracct with him. He is just too buttoned up and needs to loosen up and have fun. For instance Sushi mad a funny comment on her aunt and he imiediately seemed offended and told her that this wasn't the place for her aunties bodily functions. LOOSEN UP is what I thought. Oh I don't know, I think I just feel bad because we did have somewhat of a raport there for a bit, then this happens. I guess I am a kind of PC person and don't like when people get mad. But the other side of me is a bubbling mad Latin person that could easily tell someone off. I just thought on here it is a bit better to err on the side of PC tha tblowing you stack and pissing people off. So excuse me ZOOKEEPER if I am to PC for you. hi soulie:)it's getting better but still...for instance we just walked around one day here to talk about how it's going and stuff, and they started to talk about all the new friends they've got. and when they came to me they was like: and you fanny you've got some new frinds to,like...?? exactly I said then..hehe:) but I don't really care anymore. They can do as they want to,all they talk about is guys anyway. nothing wrong with guys, hehe=) but there are other things to talk about too. and I'm more of a serious person than they are...well,enough of me. Hope you are okay soulie? I don't really know what you've been up to these days when you were gone..hugs:)

i think ZK was joking about Sushis moms bodily fonctions...botty burps seems to be harmless fun - not buttoned up tight lipped Brit like. but it doesn't really matter does it

Laura I was thinking the same thing.. not sure why Oct thought he was being too serious? *speculates*

Where's that pic that said THE SECRET IS in those big ZooTV letters and we were discussing ZK... I swear that it was from one of the V3 concerts... but I went thru all those pix a trillion times and I couldn't find it... HELP =(

Fanny your quick wit will out run these girls anyday..... point them towards us and we'll tell them just how many friends you've aquired and they will be so astonished their mouths will fall open and never shut!!!! Your a U2Babe and WOW thats a pretty neat club to be a part of..... *huggles* ...As for me i've been busy with work and my muse ran away and I had to keep tracking IT down kicking and screaming all the way!!! .... other than that pretty much watching Bono videos and the news on the Hurricans... which is very sad ..... and btw you always make sense to me I have no problems.... I'm the one that needs to learn how to type...hahahha....grrrrr

OK OK, I really don't care anymore who the Hell ZK is!!! I may be a simpleton Laura about ZK, you seem to really know quite a bit about how he is feeling or what he means. Everyone on here is light hearted fun loving, and most everyone answers questions directed to them. ZK would never answer my questions. So ya Laura, I think that is zipped up and tight lipped. I'm starting to really believe Soulcat about lying with the persona. I started to think that he hasn't come back to defend himself and when he did make an attempt to say he didn't know what Soulcat was on about, that is not very convincing. So, until I see him come back and really give some reasons, then See ya later alligator. The thing I started to think about was the location he said he was from. If he does work for that company in the capacity that he does, then It seems to me that he would be based in a larger city. I could be totally off the mark on this, but if he says he lives in the village he says he does, it seems very small and touristy to me. Here I go again, investing too much time in this person. And Sushi I only mentioned that about your aunt because it seemed like a good example of how he reacts to things on here that he thinks is unappropriate. No big deal. It is just the over all mood of his comments that gave me the impression of a self-important person. Ya, he was ok to talk with for a bit, but he always gave me a not so great feeling on here compared to the others that post on here. And I agree Soulcat, you never bullied anyone, I think he was trying to pick a fight again. Believe me, I think he is up to something and don't you think it is funny that all of a sudden Laura pops up again to come to his rescue? "She" never comments on anything else but on this pic and it is always after Zookeeper was being a worm. I still think this is one in the same person. So Laura, why is it that you are only on this picture just like ZK is only on this picture? HUMMMM.So,lets get back to business on how amazing the guys are and get over old ZK, he isn't worth the time!!!

bump , it was the last one in the pile!!
From: Laura on 2005-09-27 01:05:45
It's true that I don't post on a lot of pictures, because I have the feeling that most of the times I don't have anything to add to the conversation. But I did post on other pictures as well. Most of the times my comments were about camera's (wildlife photography is one off my obsession, I'm saving for a new camera)or Edge's guitars (guitars and music in general is my even bigger obsession)...or spadefoot toads ;)I like a good discussion and I agree with Zookeeper on many things, so that's the reason why I defended him some times. Nobody else seemed to see the harmlessness and the funny part of his comments. But here's it's getting pretty weird: I have been away all weekend and wasn't close to a computer for 4 days. This is the first time since thursday night I'm on this site. The comment of "laura" on sunday wasn't written by me! You can analyse it if you wish: I use capitals and my English isn't good enough to produce a sentence like "not buttoned up tight lipped Brit like." Strange...this person seems to have tried to write a comment like me, by defending zk after all...Actually I was going to write that it really doesn't matter who's who after the discussion if ZK actually is RR. But now I'm pretty curious who this "laura" is :) I'm wondering if this "laura" is really pretending to be me or if it's a innocent soul, named Laura, who's posting here as well...*confused*
From: Laura on 2005-09-27 01:06:42
And no, I'm not trying to back out...I'm not the backing out type of person, as you might have noticed ;)
From: Octu2 on 2005-09-27 02:28:31
Ok now that is why I thought you were ZK since you haven't been on in while, and it didn't sound like you when you last commented on here. I think it was him using your name since I once said that you and he were one in the same. What a snake if that is true. I believe you and Soulcat. It must be him.
From: Octu2/Soulie,check this out on 2005-09-27 02:46:40
Soulie did you read Laura's comment above. She claims that the post on Sunday that has her name on it is not her. It is probably HIM!!! What a creep.
From: Soulcatgirl on 2005-09-27 11:26:29
I think this photo needs to be archived...It is weird Oct but I say let sleeping dogs lie and we all move on.... Laura's right once you conclude its RR there's nothing left .. ;)) grr
From: Laura on 2005-09-27 18:29:29
I'm not sure about that post being from zk. Why would he use my name all of a sudden? He was able to handle the situation on his own in the past. I mean, I still agree with him on some of the things he wrote here, butI have no respect for people doing that kinda stuff. So it would be a kind of his own funeral, if he would be the one using my name...right?Moreover, he seemed to be a bit more sophisticated, if that's the word, a bit more clever......hm...I don't know...interesting situation :D

I'm with Soulcat, it is time to let this photo fall to the way side. I think this will be my las post on this pic.

Just for the record ... this is the most commented pic here - close to 300 :)
From: sushi on 2005-09-28 01:12:10
Ok...sorry...but I really can't archive this pic...I don't know about the rest of you but I really really liked ZK... and I sort of got the idea that he isn't comin back... and I don't want him to leave. If he has... then I'll just keep this pic up so I can read and re-read his posts... and if he hasn't left (forever) then I'll keep this one up so he can post...~swoosh

Ok don't get mad soulcat, I just wanted to look at what I said that was that terrible that ZK is making me feel like a pile of doodoo. I don't think I wrote anything that bad. And ZK, i asked you all kinds of things about France or if you knew of certain things and you would never say. I thought maybe he just didn't read it .But there were quite a few. And ok saying something about sushi's Aunt wasn't a great example of you being zipped up.
From: Laura on 2005-10-02 17:29:57
Did I miss something? Zoo-keeper wasn't saying he wouldn't come back to this site...right? He just hasn't posted any comment for about a week. Maybe he's just busy with work or something? No need to worry...i guess...
From: Laura on 2005-10-02 17:32:48
Ah...and there he is again, the keeper. On another picture...Forget my previous post here ;)

Ok, don't just come on here for one comment and leave us hanging.
From: Kat on 2006-05-05 23:18:44
Jeez, I've missed a lot. I was just reading though and noticed the whole ZK/RR contraversy is back.. as Soulie says, "if he's who I think he is thats ok with me too....I don't really give a flying fig one way or other(except for the misery it caused my little kitKat that got royally screwed)"I'm not one to hold a grudge, but if zk is rr i say good riddance. I have no sympathy for pathetic bullshitters.
From: Octu2 on 2006-05-08 02:42:31
Well, Kat after all the shit hit the fan,I really don't think ZK ever was RR. I really believe that.

Yes we are posting, but not on this photo. What are you up to?
From: Octu2 on 2006-10-11 20:54:26
Hi Zookeeper. Seems like you will only respond to sushi since she was the only one that made a big deal that you were on here! Sushi hasn't been on here for quite some time now. It seems like it is just Ingrid and I,along with a few cool cats: Lalatoots and U2TrinnityDid you see the song that Greenday played with U2?
