hey does anybody know how many people can fit in the ellipse area if they play in a big stadium show????
From: Ingrid on 2005-11-29 14:40:24
if you want to be sure, check it on u2.com the tour guide... I thought it was between 40 and 50 people...

Well...You should rather say up to 200. In montreal, we can say that almost 25% of the GA crowd fitted inside the ellipse. I can tell you those are VIPs

You can fit way more than 50 in the inner elipse!!

well if you talk about the ellypse of the european leg (stadiums) it should be about 1.000 or more...get very early to the gate and stand the line, then run as fast as you can and you get into the ellypse, check some pics of europe shows...where are you from Julio? :-))

Hi Lucia !! =) I am originally from mexico and I will be flying to sydney,Australia to see U2 in concert there! they are playing at sydney`s telstra stadium and the fan club tickets have already gone on sale that`s why I was wondering about the number of people who can fit in that inner ellipse section because there must be at least 1500 people already allocated there so I wasn`t sure if the people with general addmission tickets were going to be able to get a spot there too I guess I`m just gonna have to find out the night of thethe concert :P

I was on line-up 7 hours before the gates open. Everyone entering the gates has his ticket scanned. About one fifth of all general floor tickets end up being "Winners" who get the chance to take with them one or two friends inside the ellipse. For that they will receive an extra, different bracelet. This process goes very fast. You see right away on the laptop screen facing you if you won or not. If not (like me), it will say "please proceed to general admission floor". From time to time you hear people screaming because they won. Thats funny. You've got to run only after this process, specially if you didn't win, to get as close as possible to the ramp encircling the ellipse. I didnt win, but had a real good spot by the ramp because i got there early. You can tell by my pictures thati was in the action. So much that my girlfriend passed out when Bonno walked on us!

well Cop..that's how it works in Usa but in stadium the situation is different!..they scanned your ticket just to verify its validity, then you have to run to get into the ellypse and take the best spot,if you go very early in the morning you should do that Julio...good luck!

well, you must be right. Its not always the same process. (did i put two "n"s to Bono?)

I got this from the australian daily telegraph, u2 will play the same stage as they did in europe there... that means, no ellipse, 2 b-stages(fantastic word Bstage...) and no lottery.. you have to run as fast as you can ^^

Saw that lottery thing on the DVD and was really surprised how everyone acted to it. I would have gone absolutely mad if I had been there early and didnt make it into the ellipse. Very polite these people! And what do you think of Gavin? Isnt he a real strange guy. If I didnt know it I would never guess that hes that close to B! Seemed not so "healthy" to me ;-)
From: ??? on 2005-12-02 11:59:35
and how healthy does the person in this pic look ;)Actually, looks like a cartoon, you know? when the person is running so fast that the upperbody cant keep the speed.so I take it back, must be reall healhy to keep up that speed!! Run Bono run!

About the lottery, or the "randomly attributed spots into the ellipse... The thing is that when you know there is such system, you DON'T get in line 2 days before the show. Which is a really good thing for us here in Montreal, understanding that you could face freezing temperatures when the show is held in late november.

oh he looks to me like a gorgeous man shakin his hips to his left... also gavin is cool, a little crazy, but cool ^^ he and guggi are B's best friends btw..
