Soundchecked: Between Noel Gallagher's support set and U2, the FIFA World Cup qualifier between Argentina and Ecuador - which Argentina won - was broadcast on the stage's big screen. This meant U2 started later than normal, at about 10:30pm local time. Bono described Argentine player Lionel Messi as "surely proof that god exists" during the gig. Fans organised a flashmob for Mothers of the Disappeared, with the crowd waving white handkerchiefs during the song.
